will never deal with hertz againCons:Upon my arrival, I was informed that I had to have an additional $200.00 hold placed on my credit card, even though I paid for the rental in full at the time of booking. And I could not have the hold placed on a different card as the office told me it had to be on the same card i used to book with. This was a huge inconvenience as none of his was never advised to me in my confirmation email nor when I booked. Also, there was no windshield wiper fluid in the car so I had to buy it myself and fill it. The van was filthy on the outside and was not washed. Lastly, the girl in the office that assisted us, her customer service skills left a lot to be desired.Reviewed Oct 3 2017

Maybe don't rent out cars if you're closed?Pros:The car was pretty new, with only a few thousand miles on it, so that was very cool. Drove great and fit our needs perfectly.Cons:We reserved the car to pick up on a Sunday at noon and return it on a Sunday at noon. We didn't have any way of knowing until we got there that they are actually closed Sundays. When we first arrived, the building was locked and no one was around, which gave us a near heart attack. Luckily, a very nice young guy who may have been coming just to meet us or was leaving but came back to help us arrived so we could get our car. When we dropped it off, we just had to leave the keys in the slot since no one was there again, but I would have felt much better if I could have spoken to someone to make sure everything was okay before we left.Reviewed Jun 26 2017

No Economy Car AvailablePros:Booked an economy car and was told the off-site rental agency was just across from the airport. 1 mile away was far from just across from the airport. After walking 1/2 mile, we called a cab. Got to the rental agency and they didn't have an economy car. Two choices: minivan and a pickup truck. They did comp out 1/2 tank of gas and used my AAA discount to take off $21. I don't think they were prepared to provide any compensation for my inconvenience of location or not having the correct rental car (until I expressed my frustration of their customer service.Reviewed Oct 20 2017

Horrible experienceCons:Very important information was not disclosed on this website or on the 30+ page hertz rules and regulations packet as in the fact that you need to provide a credit card with you name on it so they can put a 200$ hold on it and then if it's a bank card your then subjected to a credit check and if you fail that then you need to provide a major credit card and because I didn't have one I was then refused the rental car I already paid for in full plus insurance so that left me stranded in a town where I knew no one with my suit case in hand and they offered absolutely no help to me what so ever. To top it all off I had called the day before and spoke to an employee at the location on post rd. In Rhode island and was told nothing about any of the above issues I just mentioned even tho I was calling to discuss the deposit amount and that I wouldn't have the original card on hand as the rental was a gift for my trip I was never informed that I may need a second card or anything about a possible credit check. The whole experience was very upsetting and totally inconvenient and ruined my whole trip. I immediately called. Customer service to expedite my refund since I was unable to rent a car from this company. This experience totally ruined my entire trip and will not be using hertz or kayak for any if my future travles.Reviewed Dec 6 2017

Great car and price, service needs improvementPros:Clean and new car Rate was 25$/day, a bargain!Cons:Car was not available when I arrived, had to wait 1hr. Got an "upgrade" (because it's the only car they had, but I don't care to spend more on gas for a bigger car, would prefer no upgrade. Pros:The vehicle was roomy enough as I hoped for. Drop off was simple.Cons:Upon pickup, the card I initially used to pre-pay was not available, as it was a bank issued debit card which was compromised, so the bank cancelled that card, and issued me a new debit card. Because of this, I had to pay again for a new reservation and wait for a refund for that initial prepaid reservation. The woman at the desk did give me the same price as initially paid, and my refund was given in about 3 business days, however it made a quick pickup into a long process, in which I was upset, because I was not prepared to double pay at that time. I tried multiple times to contact someone from where I made the reservation but kept getting an automated answer who sent me to Hertz...I was already there, I needed more help! To no avail, since nobody could help me or even put a live person on the phone.Reviewed Sep 1 2017

Not at the airport !Pros:The car was fine and the attendant was a very nice guy.Cons:When we got to the Hertz counter (it was a VERY long walk from the baggage area) the woman could not find our reservation. She told us it was probably at the “other” Hertz place. She said it wasn’t too far to walk. It turned out to be a long walk with our luggage along Route 1 . It was dangerous in spots as we crossed entrance and exit ramps. I can’t imagine what we would have done in bad weather.Reviewed May 13 2018
