The car is fine. I checked in myself. Had a hard time finding my parking space. Had to walk back and forth through the parking lot. But the worst part was when I needed to extend the rental, I had to spend 1/2 an hour on the phone constantly being put on hold because I had booked my rental through Kayak rather than directly through Hertz. More and more I’m learning these 3rd party apps do nothing but make things worse. I was offered a link to extend the rental via email. But the link did not work because of Kayak. You allowed me to book at a time the company was closed so I didn’t actually get my rental until the next day, they then claimed I was late so they gave it away and wanted to downgrade car class but charge me the same amount and refused to upgrade without charging me. Last minute car came in that met my class and they exchanged the car they just gave me. It was a poor experience.Reviewed May 18 2026

I called Hertz multiple times to cancel my reservation, I even have an email confirming it is canceled. I was told I would receive a refund in 10 business days. I have still not recevied it.Reviewed May 14 2026

I was told I may have to pay $150.00 in U S dollars to clean the sand off the floor matt. I was not informed about that upon renting the vehicle. The spare tire was not inspected upon renting the vehicle. I returned the vehicle and was told the spare was flat. I don't know if there was a leak in the tire. It was never inspected upon renting the vehicle. Now I am excited to pay for a tire. Very disappointed with my experience.Reviewed May 11 2026

I couldn’t even rent the car because they wanted to put on a hold on my credit card that was more than double the actual amount. I figured maybe a little higher, but I couldn’t rent the car and there was no way for me to cancel through Kayak or Hertz. Each told me the other had to cancel, so I have no idea if I’m getting charged or anything? This is why zipcar is better.Reviewed May 11 2026
