Pros:Staff was very friendly and helpful. We got an upgrade which was a bonus. Simple pickup and drop off.Cons:I just don't appreciate having to pay an daily fee for an extra driver. I feel that since my husband and i are on the same insurance and we always share the driving, there should be no extra fee.Reviewed Oct 19 2020

Misleading quotesPros:The car was clean and dropoff was simple and quick.Cons:I was on a bicycle trip riding into the pickup airport and arranged a one way rental from the pickup location to a dropoff airport. The distance was 250 miles and I only needed the car for travel. The quoted price was good and I arranged a one day rental (the minimum). I was not certain what time I would arrive so set the pickup time for a safe time after I expected to arrive, I did not want to be considered a no-show if I arrived after the estimated time of pickup. I arrived 3 hours before scheduled pickup. Hertz did not have the full sized car quoted as they did not expect me for another 3 hours. No big deal- I accepted a mid size for the quoted price of the full size- not less as could potentially be expected. Hertz then states that it would be a two day rental as the quoted drop-off was more than 24 hours after the pickup, even if I dropped the car off 4-5 hours after pickup. The price therefore doubled and I was driving a smaller car than quoted. On top of that they gave me the hard sell on insurance, wanting to add another 80 dollars in expense(which I refused). I probably will not do business with Hertz again, I have had much better experience with other rental companies.Reviewed Jul 14 2016

When I showed up to pick up my vehicle let they haCons:When I showed up to pick up my vehicle they had no cars left. I asked to upgrade when they did have more cars driven in from a nearby hertz. They said "those are for the people who reserved a larger car" and that I reserved a economy. I mentioned that they gave away my car so why can't they alow me to have somebody else's and if they would please tell me why they gave away my car. When I asked her to explain she simply said "no" honest to God she said no she won't explain. I recorded this conversation on my phone. Will be happy to send the video of this conversation. I was calm and did not yell. I just simply got "no" for an answer when I asked if she would explain. Was a arrogant horrific answer.Reviewed Sep 22 2016

Stole my money for the wrong carPros:The pickup went smoothly and the car was very clean.Cons:I was given a sports car despite requesting a larger vehicle to transport passengers. They had to be crammed into the back with barely enough room for luggage for a long trip. Then, I returned the car a day early (more than 24 hours early), and I was refused payment for the difference. I have used almost every car rental company at the Grand Junction Regional Airport, and Hertz is by far the WORST. Kayak refused to do anything about the refund. I'll reserve directly with the rental companies from now on.Reviewed May 16 2018

Cracked windshieldPros:We had a stone kicked up from an 18 wheeler and was concerned about how to handle the issue with Hertz since were didn't take out the extra coverage. We called our insurance and had everything arranged but did have a deductible. When we pulled into Hertz, the al who managed our car in Phoenix gave us a flat rate which was less then our deductible and did it all in one transaction. I had envisioned having to hassle with a manager but it was painless and we paid the flat amount. Car was great and we couldn't have been happier!Cons:Car wasn't ready she we arrived to Grand Junction, which wasn't a big deal but they did ask us if we would take a smaller car but it turned out the price was higher for the smaller car. We went to lunch and got the bigger car - a Nissan Rogue, which was very ice.Reviewed Sep 4 2017

Lost and Found GreatPros:Very prompt delivery at Grand Junction. I used the GPS - new to me and helpful. The best help was the prompt service by Paula Robinson at Lot and Found at the Denver Airport Hertz Car Return who found my lost date book which i hope to receive by FedEx tomorrow.Cons:I wish it didn't cost quite as much.Reviewed Aug 17 2016
