rudest counter persons everPros:it's located closest to my home.Cons:looked up hertz payment info online, and noted that some outlets do not accept debit cards. called the branch to speak with an agent, and was assured they do accept debit cards. got a ride to the airport, and was told they DO accept debit cards, but only on arrival to the airport with a valid flight boarding card. my ride had already departed. no other local companies had any cars remaining, there is no reception for most cell phone carriers. the agent next door (national, avis) did not have cars available, but at least called the airporter so i could get home ($40). i found a car 2 days later, for $90+ more, so they cost me over $100 because they do not bother to provide accurate payment info. jacob and melissa were slow, and rude throughout,. other than offering to let me make a local call, they did nothing to make this attempted rent anything other than miserable.Reviewed Mar 22 2017

Terrible experience, go somewhere elseCons:I called at 1030 to verify the car was ready and available for pick up, I was told they had no cars, and to come in after noon. So when I arrived at 12:20 they were closed, but still on site. My contract specified a 12pm pick up, and the staff said they closed at noon. I was told they couldn’t help me because they had no cars and they couldn’t help me. I had to demand the staff find me a car and they referred me to the local airport (30 minute can ride away). So here we are, stranded 323 miles from home, on our way to a wedding, and left completely abandoned, and disregarded even though I have a contract in my hand. After a long ride to the airport, they were able to produce a car. So now I’m an hour late, and rather upset at the complete disregard to my contract. This absolutely wrecked my trip. I have no fraught what so ever that this Hertz shop can deliver in the future, and there needs to be a full review and changes made at this shop. I’ll never rent from them again. Points: giving a customer an appointment after they are closed is a massive oversight. Not having a car available (as in none) when you have a rental agreement is inexcusable. Could be betterPros:The Nissan Sentra we drove was fine for our 8hr drive but could have been better on gas mileage. We did use the eco option frequently and it helped some. The car was clean and had a good amount of trunk space.Cons:Customer service was simply okay at best. We were scheduled to pick up at 8am. We arrived before 8am and there was a line of two customers ahead of us. We waited over 45 minutes to get our vehicle. Really? We needed to get on the road. When returning our vehicle at 9am the next day, the woman that unlocked the door clearly saw us standing directly outside the door, but didn't feel at all obliged to open the door for us. When we showed ourselves inside, she didn't properly acknowledge our presence, say hello, or show any sort of courtesy. She simply took the keys and muttered to herself and walked outside to review the vehicle. I'll go across the street next time to Enterprise. The vehicle was also covered in scratches. We booked online and Hertz agents were not familiar with kayak.com. Apparently, I paid $7 more for insurance at Kayak than I could have with Hertz. I also was unable to use my AAA discount at pickup because Kayak booking was prepaid.Reviewed Apr 16 2017

Fantastic customer servicePros:I had flown into the Eureka airport, but by accident had booked my car from downtown Eureka. The gentleman working was great! Called that office, worked with them to find me a car, which was only slightly more due to airport fees, and everything worked out fine. And I was able to drop it back at the airport at the completion of my trip. Good customer service is so rare these days that it's amazing to me when I do see it in action. Well done to both the young lady and gentleman working the counter! And the car was great too!Reviewed Jul 21 2017

Pros:The eureka staff was cordial and very pleasant. I would do business with them any day. Many thanks to them for making this possibly not my last Hertz rental.Cons:the only negative to eureka is I didn't get to hang wth them longer.
