Cons: We just passed through Heraklion from Chania to get to Santorini. Did not stay there long but did not seem to be a vacation hotspot. Would prefer to not make my own orange juice.

Pros: The hotel was lovely, well furnished but a little dated and out of step with other hotels we had recently stayed in. Breakfast was excellent and it’s location perfect.
Cons: Slightly over rated with the rooms a tad disappointing and old fashioned. The tv didn’t work and there were no welcoming touches such as fresh fruit. The shower made a mess on the floor. The gym was very small and underused. Staff not was friendly as we had found at other hotels and our room had a large tree right outside the balcony so we could only see thick foliage, not the sea.

Pros: The location is spot on being only 10-15 minute walk from the bus station and the ferries. On top of this, the staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. Especially the lady at the front desk who was not only there to greet us when we arrived in the mid-afternoon, but also when we came back from a few errands in the early evening and again as we got up to have breakfast and check-out before we left for the ferry. That woman must work around the clock!! Efcharisto poli!

Pros: We spent only one night at Kastro as we were heading to Chaniá, however it was enough to notice that the facilities and the staff are great. Once they noticed we are a couple in honeymoon, our room was upgraded to an amazing and very comfortable suite next to the roof garden. The breakfast was delicious, with a good range of tasty cretan food.

Pros: The staff was extremely helpful and amicable, even if we had to do quick changes of plans and arrive a day later than intended. They also helped us with getting around the city and a taxi to the airport. The location was good, however the area looks a tiny bit dodgy. We didn't go out until late at night so it was okay, but I can imagine it may get a bit unnerving late at night. However, it was very safe. Both the museum of cretian history and national history and the centre of town are in a comfortable walking distance. There are also supermarkets in the vicinity, and a cute Greek restaurant right across the street. Breakfast was very tasty and there were many choices of both sweet and salty foods. There's also an opportunity to try out the coffee brewed in hot sand, which was refreshing and fun. The hotel room wasn't flashy but that's exactly what we wanted. If the rooms get too pretty one doesn't want to go out that much, however, they were very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel.

The breakfast is served on the top floor with a beautiful view of the port and the fortress. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Welcome drink of tsikoudia (grape vodka) was also very pleasant. The hotel is suitable to stay for a couple of nights.

The airport is very close so mind the air traffic and the noise that can be considerably loud. However, the hotel itself was more noisy with the elevator working non stop and announcing the floor levels in a loud manner plus very poor sound proof installation that ensured a sleepless night. I would recommend this hotel if you want to catch an early ferry but yet again considering the sleepless night an early awakening might be better off. The hotel was clean but offered no comfort and the bathroom was in a non acceptable condition. Staff was very friendly.

Pros: good location, to port was 10 minutes walks. can store louggage for free, that was nice. rooms is good, clean, bed is comfortable, kind crew. breakfast is possibility for 4€ and they have small shop with snacks. I sleeped well, not too loud for me.

Pros: AC was nice, just had to disconnect the card from the key to keep the power on. Beds weren't bad. Seemed pretty clean. Only there for one night, so the proximity to the port for our ferry in the morning was great for 40 euro.

Cons: The lift is very small and doesn’t reach the ground floor. We had to climb the stairs for the first floor, not a major problem but you should bear this in mind if you are carrying a baby and 2 luggages.

Cons: Don't know much about the lift they advertise. I think it starts on the second floor? Planes are definitely noisy, but fine for a night or two; no matter where we went on Greece there were planes and helicopters making some noise.

Cons: Everyhing was awful. At the reception the family owner was having supper, the baby was yelling, the son and his wife arguing, the granny staring at the TV with the face of dragging a gorgeous hangover, and the grandpa, and apparently the owner, couldn't even greet with a simple good evening and a smile to his new guests. The air conditioning didn't work and in the room even the plastic flowers looked rancid and stale.

Cons: We asked to see the room before payment and the man from the reception was very rude, he became angry because we want to only check if the room is like in the photos and if it is clean. We ended by pay before...and see the room after.The room was ok,but not his atitude.Is something normal to check if the conditions are like in the reservation.

Cons: The photos of the hotel are deceptive, misleading guests into thinking the room is of a higher quality than it. Our room was very small and the shower was for toddlers. The management was rude and unhelpful.
