The stay was absolutely perfect. The staff were extremely helpful and polite with smiles on their faces, the room was spotless, the bathroom was spotless and the shower was amazing. Even the teas/coffees and toiletries were excellent. I will definitely be staying here again!!
I wouldn’t change a thing.
Great place, lovely clean and tidy, just been renovated by the look of it so all spick and span. Great breakfast.
although my room was a little small (single) so would book a twin next time.
Immaculately clean and new. Appreciated the complimentary mini chocs in reception. Nice to see an honesty bar. The higher priced room on the second night was perfect and quiet at the back of the hotel. Decent space for car parking. Within easy reach of town and the train station. Easy to find. Quiet safe area. All great quality apart from serious problem with stay below.
First night was worst night ever in a hotel in my 60 years. Room 4 windows were slightly open - they wouldn't close properly as if malformed in the frame - so the road noise kept us awake all night, together with a loud whistling noise from the wind. No receptionist after 10pm so couldn't get room changed. Also I booked a double room for 2 and we only had towels and tea/coffee for 1. When I complained next day we were not offered any recompense and instead were forced to pay £10 extra to upgrade to a better room. The girl on reception beamed happily as if I was giving her good news. No recompense. Very poor service! This despite a prominent sign suggesting the customer is always right. Ruined our stay. We had to catch up with sleep most of the following day. One very minor point is that the shortish shower hose needs two handed management since it retracts into the grip of the retaining ring that's designed to prevent water backflow, so as soon as you pick up the soap, the damn shower hose is too short to use and has to be fed through the ring again in order to be a practical length.
Overall I liked this hotel, very clean. Staff was really friendly, so I recommend this hotel.
Great location, comfy bed, clean room, good facilities, although there was only one coffee/tea mug supplied in the room (that's our only comment!!). Have stayed here twice when visiting the area and will stay again if we're ever back in Guildford. Highly recommend given how close it is to the station and town centre, how friendly and helpful the staff are, and how comfortable the rooms are. We didn't have breakfast on this occasion, but have had breakfast before and it was very good. Thanks to the staff for being so helpful and making us feel so welcome!
Two mugs would have been nice so that we can both have tea/coffee, there was only one in the room. The road outside was fairly loud but all was fine once we shut the window during the night. No shower gel was provided, just soap, shampoo, and conditioner - glad we brought our own shower gel! Might be a nice touch to provide some.
