This hotel is set in a 1935 building in the museum district of Groningen. It offers stylish accommodation equipped with flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi and luxurious bathrooms with rain showers. The rooms come with modern furnishings and have box-spring bedding. Each is decorated with modern design touches and heated floors in the bathroom. Guests can use the fitness facilities at the Train More sport facility which is a 2 minute walk from the property. An organic breakfast buffet is served every morning in the breakfast lounge. The bar has variety of organic wines and beers. The famous Vismarkt and Grote Markt squares are within walking distance of the hotel. Groningen train station is 2 minutes on foot.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fine, nothing to complain about. But knowing many other places in the city where you can have really good breakfast/ brunches, there is little point in having the breakfast at the hotel, considering the fact they charge extra for it. The location is really great if you travel by train, as it is only 5-10 min from the station. It's also within 5 minutes from the core of the city. I enjoyed the balcony in the room too
Cons: I had to travel with my car and there are of course no convenient parking spaces around. In that price category, they could include a parking space on request. But no, everything costs extra, because they know you have no choice. I quote: "Private parking is possible at a location nearby (reservation is needed) and costs EUR 16.50 per day". It's across the square, not covered, along the canal and beside a modern art building.
7,1 Good
Pros: Room was a good Size
Cons: Rubbish was left in room. Blinking Light in bathroom not fixed. Electric Sockets by bed didn’t work.
10,0 Excellent

Pros: Amazing location, two minutes from the center, friendly staff, big rooms and very good quality of cosmetics in the bathroom.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: We had no breakfast, no meal. Room 31 was really good, nice overview and small balcony. Small kitchen with Coffee and Tea. Bar was pitifully openend only till 10 p.m. Hotel seems more for staying overnight, as central groningen is just around the corner with all possibilities for a good drink and meal

7,1 Good
Pros: I liked the surrounding landscape and the style of the dining room. Also, I liked that children with special needs work in the farm
Cons: The door was very old and heavy and we could not go into the bathroom at night because we thought it was locked. Desired explanation within the website
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very interesting place to stay. Unusual and unrepeatable experience
8,8 Excellent
Pros: very cosy bed and stunning room and the most lovely breakfast and welcoming staff. Felt at home straight away and its conveniently close to centre of Groningen (if you have a car or bike).
Cons: Next time I would like to be able to borrow/rent a bike to get to the centre of Groningen ever so quickly.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: What a great place to stay: Only a 20 min bike ride into Groningen and, yet, there is a great farm atmosphere. The owner was very welcoming and even offered us a ride into town to get rental bikes. Speaking of perfect service: we were served a wholesome breakfast directly to the caravan in which we stayed. The icing on the cake were the several farm animals which even could be fed (lambs, pigs, horses, alpacas, and many more). I would recommend De Oude Nadorst to anyone who likes a good farm stay with all the benefits of the city nearby.
Cons: Rental bikes on site would be much appreciated.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The farm was beautiful. I loved looking out the window and seeing the Alpaca's! The room was warm and comfortable, and the owner did everything to make my stay memorable. Its a little bit out of the town but there's a bus right down the road, so its very okay.
10,0 Excellent

Cons: Everything was really OK
10,0 Excellent

Pros: Charming and cosy stay
Cons: The toilet and shower were in the house, so in that way it was like camping. It wasn’t however a big issue for us

Pros: A great view from my room on the fourth floor! Room was nothing special, but the bed was good.

Pros: Location, free parking and cleanliness are excellent. The staffs are very friendly.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: I am very, very happy with the stay. Not only is the hotel room well organised and spacious, it also has a great view. The lobby has numerous seating arrangements. The restraunt, unlike most others, is not heavily overpriced. The best thing was the free shuttle service to the station (which is also very close to the city centre) at most hours of the day. It was specifically helpful. The staff are very polite, hospitable and professional. I really enjoyed my stay.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beds comfy. Staff very nice, especially one who we have met on our previous visits. Love the area and look forward to seeing the improvements.

Pros: The location is great. I stayed in a private room which had a bunk bed for two. The staff is really helpful, attentive, and warm. There is a working AC. The internet connection periodically disconnects, but it continues after you reconnect, and the speed of the internet is good.
Cons: The toilet + bathroom was too small, the lighting was not so great, and it is definitely not a destination to go if you are traveling for work. I only stayed a single night, which made my stay passable, but I wouldn't recommend it for longer work-related stays.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: We had a large room on the top floor - plenty of space and well fitted. Breakfast was good, and served in a lovely light room. The hotel is in a historic building and well located for exploring Groningen
Cons: The shower could have been stronger - maybe an issue with being on the top floor. One morning there was a staff problem and no breakfast available - the breakfast room was simply locked! We did however get some refund on the rate for this, and assume it was an isolated event.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was great, the location was great the price was great but the service and staff were exceptional especially the front of house staff. They were very friendly and very helpful. Thanks Kieran
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very spacious, comfortable room. Great central and quiet location.
Cons: No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Expensive breakfast (but there is a great cafe next door which serves delicious coffee and croissants)
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The room was very comfortable and clean. The location is excellent, close to the centre and close to the Norderplantsoen
Cons: The colour scheme in my room was a little odd and there was a lot of noise from the street outside.
6,3 Good
Pros: It’s quirky and in a very good position for the centre of town, and transport links
Cons: The beds are 2 singles pushed together and we had to ask the duty manager to get the room cleaned (it was not done on the first day, and not particularly well cleaned on the other days)
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent, the beer and wine were great, the breakfast was well done. Beds are super comfy. Thanks to you guys. Very good and I'll recommend your hotel to friends The location is great, just a couple of mind walk into the town centre. 10 mins to train station.
Cons: The room we were in was a little noisy. Outside noise, the people in the floor above, the door slamming downstairs etc. It wasn't a major issue and I'm not sure how it could be resolved, so other guests just be aware that it may be a little noisy.
6,7 Good
Pros: It is located close to the University and lots of nice cafés.
Cons: The street is quite loud overnight and the ear plugs of minimal assistance.
6,7 Good
Pros: Location near centre of town. Relaxed personnel
Cons: Slightly outdated rooms. Double bed was small.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I travel frequently for business in Europe and this 400 year old renovated wonder was by far the overall nicest hotel I have booked in years. Everything about it was delightful from the moment I arrived. The staff, the service, the accommodations, the friendliness, the lack of noise, the ready assistance for whatever was needed: all of was part of the everyday environment that made being there so delightfully wonderful. My room was large, with high ceilings and a fireplace, and was beautifully and practically appointed with a large desk and seating, shower and tub, and a very sleepable bed. My only regret was that I could not stay on after my conference was over.
Cons: There was nothing that I did like!
7,5 Good
Pros: Great location, can walk anywhere from here, the room and facilities were clean, if a little worn and in need of a revamp. Staff were helpful and coffee was good.
Cons: An older hotel, quirky and maybe a bit worn at the edges. Didn't have the breakfast as some other options in walking distance were really great in comparison price-wise.

Pros: Superb breakfast. Freshly cooked eggs and bacon. Great choice of cereals and breads.
Cons: The single room I had, there are four in the hotel, was cupboard like in space. I requested a change as first room had a bed so small my feet had to tuck under a shelf. Obviously the stairs cannot be changed but they are very steep which would a problem for some people, especially carrying bags, ( no help offered here by staff). There is no lift.

Pros: Clean, quiet, nice staff, decent price, grocery store very close by. I stayed here for a few nights before my contract for more perminate housing started for while I'm in the city, it was the best price I could find for the high demand time that I needed a room (end of august, intro week for international students at the University of Groningen) and I was happy with my choice to stay here. I recommend to anyone else who needs a room when regular hotel prices are quite high, and you don't want to go to hostel.
Cons: I didn't like not having my own fridge in my room...you share a fridge in the common kitchen which leads to other guests stealing your food. Also the front door to the building is very confusing and hard to open. I had gotten locked out after reception closed and it took me a good 20min of fiddling to figure out how to open it. Stairs are also very steep (but I hear that may be quite common/normal in the Netherlands?) with suitcases that can be annoying to bring them to your room. Breakfast often was too late for me and I missed it most days because I had to leave earlier than that, but thats a minor point.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The friendly staff. The small kitchen with free coffee and tea. Clean rooms.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Really nice staff, Cool place and comfortable
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Unusual set up. Nice to know you are helping a social enterprise.
Cons: Narrow staircase
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Easy to manage - private but with a professional reception. Not just an airbnb
Cons: The shower was a bit strange...
6,5 Good
Pros: The breakfast was ok and good.
Cons: The room was a bit too small for the price I paid. However, everything was fine and you can rent a bike for 5 euros all day. The staff was very friendly and easy going.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: I liked many things from this place. Staff was nice and friendly, the breakfast area was very relaxing and nice. The location is very good, close to the city center and near to few great parks. Also, you can rent a bike all day for 5 euros which is worth it to see the city. Thanks guys
Cons: I miss a socket in the shower room.

7,1 Good
Pros: Good value for money.
Cons: If it was a little closer to the city centre, for sure I would have taken a walk. But that isn't the case. Despite the fact that they have a busstation nearby.
7,5 Good
Pros: A value for money Hotel. Outside the centre of Groningen with a bus station outside the hotel.
Cons: Every one hour bus for a 10 minute distance to the centre by bus.
7,5 Good
Pros: The rooms were nice and comfortable.
Cons: The bathroom is not practical. Probably the designer never used it! There is nowhere to put the soap or shampoo in the shower so it’s on the floor all the time. The washbasin is narrow and has a stone shelf on top. When you brush your teeth and put your head down to empty your mouth, you hit your head on the shelf or pour the water in your mouth on the floor!!
7,5 Good
Pros: Free parking near the hotel. Good breakfast ( but expensive too)
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The area was quiet but transport into town was good.
Cons: No step out towel in bathroom.
7,5 Good
Pros: The bath and the fact that curtains make the room extra dark. Real quiet
Cons: The bags in the bins.
7,5 Good
Pros: I stayed there many times. Standard hotel if you need quick access to roads around Groningen. Service and cleanliness are pretty standard = value for money.
7,9 Good
Pros: Good value for money. Nothing fancy - all just right.
Cons: Smoking Room with biljard attracts mainly young men in the afternoon, drinking beer and smoking. Bad smell!

Pros: The service team is extremely nice - I could check-out at 4.00 a.m without any problem (moreover, they helped me to bring my really huge suitcase on the first floor during my check-in). They were ready to help at any time (even when I locked my key in my locker in the evening). The location is also very good - it takes less by 10 minutes of cycling to get to the city centre and around 40 min to the railway station (by foot, with a big suitcase :) ).
Cons: Maybe sleeping on the upper part of a bunk bed wasn't very convenient, particularly on the first day of my stay, but it is possible to get used to that (As well as to live with 10 other tenants in the room)
8,3 Excellent

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Staff is very friendly.
Cons: My room was a little noisy due to the school next door.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location was very central. The staff were lovely too.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Poor aged decor and room facilities
7,5 Good
Pros: Location was very good. Much nearby. Breakfast was OK but could have been better; see below.
Cons: There were no free outlets where I could plug in my laptop. I had to remove the outlet for the floor lamp to plug in my laptop and this left the desk area dark. The breakfast dishes were small and one needed to use two to take a sandwich or croissants and eggs. It would have been more convenient if larger dishes would have been made available. I panned to have dinner at the restaurant on Sunday night since the weather was poor. I was told at the desk that the restaurant was closed. It would have been thoughtful to have announced or posted this so that I could have made different plans earlier. These were not big problems but for a hotel that wants to set high standards, they should not have come up.
6,7 Good
Pros: Location, beds
Cons: Very noisy, hear every tap running, toilet flushing, people having loud conversations in their rooms, smoking under open window... Too old bathroom east block style bathroom...
7,5 Good
Pros: The hotel is right in the middle of this lovely old town - a very pleasant location - but it is really in a pedestrian area, although you can drive to the front of the hotel to unload. Parking is in an underground car park a 2-minute walk away. Our quiet room at the back of the hotel was small but well appointed. We ate in the hotel's restaurant, which was seriously good, although not cheap. Breakfast was also good but an extra cost. It ended up being a quite expensive night but I reckon it was worth it.
Cons: The first receptionist we encountered seemed rather grumpy and unhelpful over the complicated parking arrangments but another took over who couldn't have been more kind and helpful.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: lovely, big shower with extra handheld shower head - excellent, Great breakfast, lovely freshly-pressed juices
Cons: only one bedside table
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, staffs are so nice and very helpful. Highly recommended.
6,7 Good
Cons: Ground floor room, noise from tables in courtyard restaurant, unable to have window open because of noise, warm evening no air con so not a good room. I would not stay in that room again, I would specify higher floor or stay elsewhere. Awake until late so I could open window try to get some air into the room when restaurant closed
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The location, beds and excellent breakfast!
Cons: Some style elements were not my taste but fit good in the hotel atmosphere.
