7,9 Good
Pros: Really friendly owner. The hotel is located next to one of the busstops of the sightseeing bus. Very nice onsen, you can use this one private.
Cons: We had a loft, so we had to climb upstairs to go to our bed. Not a problem for us, but if you are afraid of hights or a little bit older, this can cause you some problems.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: breakfast is fantastic !
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Teppei-san is really hospitable and goes the extra mile to make guests feel at home! I love the location - there were food options nearby, convenience store within range, and the lovely BnB is just minutes walk from the lakefront where one can just sit and admire the view. I’d highly recommend staying at Weekend Shuffle!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Quite and clean
Cons: Too strict of rules
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Teppe was a brilliant host - continually looking for ways to help us make the most of our stay. The hot tub was great, so too were the local beers on sale of an evening in the lounge, and he even helped us order in some sushi in the evening. Breakfasts great. The property is wonderfully located close to the lakeshore. Just a pity that Fujisan decided to be coy during our stay - treating us only to a fleeting but nonetheless impressive glimpse. I would stay here again in a flash.
Cons: Our room was snug for four - but it had everything we needed. We also made good use of the lounge area.

Pros: I have one word to describe my experience from this place and the word is PERFECT!

Pros: Clean, comfortable and friendly stuff

Pros: View of mount fuji Fuji the morning
Cons: Nothing
6,7 Good
Pros: Location and hospitality of receptionists
Cons: Old fashion utilities and the bed was not comfy!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Staff's service, location and view
Cons: Hotel management should remind guests to reserve bbq diner as early as possible. Since there are only 2 to 3 bbq griller in the resort.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Nice Breakfast, Excellent service, and Spectacular view, lucky to be in time for fireworks herb festival (though we were out of luck seeing Fujisan due to dense fog). We picked this place as we needed fully equipped kitchen to cook daily food as our child has severe food allergy and the facilities are awesome
Cons: Free view of herb garden behind the villa (provided that you don’t mind lots of tourist during summer time lurking behind the lawn)
9,6 Excellent
Pros: the location is good, but maybe it is summer, there are lots of bugs around the room.
Cons: not exactly sure the breakfast process. i would suggest the host can provide more Japanese style food. also seems there is no dish washer so breakfast were not taken out from room.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is an excellent villa and resort. Everything is good. We like the place very much!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The house is perfect! Everything you need for self catering Views are spectacular. Very quiet and peaceful. Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Little garden was perfect for our toddler to let off steam. Located next to a craft complex which also sells food and beverages. Highly recommend staying here if you need some relaxation time. We had a car so very easy to get to.
Cons: We loved everything!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything Perfect
Cons: Nothing

Pros: The views of Mount Fuji were stunning. We woke up ein the mornings to the smell of Lavender. The outdoor area behind was great for meals, admiring the views and taking in the smells.
Cons: The air con should be cleaned.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great place, wonderful service! Breakfast buffet was very good!
Cons: Futons are a little hard and small especially for bigger people.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Definitely a lot of tourists but despite that, I felt the actual experience was really amazing. The dinner in your room was huge and delicious. The private onsen on the patio overlooking the lake was perfect. Buffet breakfast was amazing. I didn’t do the group onsen because I have tattoo so I can’t speak to that. Overall would definitely recommend
Cons: Nothing
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great relaxing stay to really unwind. Highly recommended for visitors looking for a ryokan experience. Everything is very convenient and only a stone's throw away. Will definitely visit again!
7,9 Good
Pros: Location is good, just near the touring boat, and red line bus stop #10. There is shuttle bus service to Kawaguchiko station.
Cons: It's not private onsen in the room, but a jacuzzi instead. View is facing the lake instead of Fuji mountain. Dinner service is poor, we wait for quite a long time for dinner and we choose to help ourselves because it really takes time to wait for the service, probably due to full reservation for that day.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Service was excellent, dinner was great, onsen was lovely, and the shuttle service was good too.
Cons: A bit on the pricey side, but knew that going into it for the room with a private onsen. The tatami mats were great but the traditional beds needed more padding for us foreigners...

8,8 Excellent
Pros: Big room and nice set up
Cons: Too pricy
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: front desk employee, security guard and the cat! .. private onsen was nice but facilities outdated
Cons: sorry but this did not live up to expectations between the cost we paid for one night ( over 700 chf) the photos on booking. com which made it look nicer than it is and the location which has no charm at all.... we struggle to understand the costs...and dinner was not even included. The next morning we needed to leave early to depart before the typhoon and so could not have breakfast ( no gesture made about costs) . However, the redeeming factor was the staff ( front desk and security guard) who helped us get back to the train station and exceptionally gave us a free lift back.. which is normally strictly prohibited according to information in the rooms which was made very (too) cllear... this was one of the big disappointments in terms of accommodation in 2.5 weeks in Japan
4,6 Okay
Pros: The room itself was really quite beautiful
Cons: Oh many things, first off, it’s not an onsenji. That is not true . I had a small bath out in the garden, though lovely is not making up for the fact that this is not a bath house! There is NO view of Mount Fuji from anywhere on the property It is also quite far (I would say a twenty minute walk ) to the lake they say they are close to. They misrepresent what they are!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Dinner and breakfast are great. The room and private onsen are really wonderful. Staffs are very welcoming.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for just one night; it was fun to contrast the modern hotels of Tokyo with a more traditional onsen experience. Once you're inside, the property is incredibly tranquil and transmits a wonderful feeling of calm and relaxation. Service and staff are rather traditional, but warm. They stay out of your hair and do their best to leave you be. The futon bedding was super plush and comfortable - had a great night's sleep on the floor! And of course, having your own onsen right outside was a really fun bonus. The breakfast was incredibly abundant and really delicious - it was almost too much for such an early hour! I'd recommend the Japanese option for something more authentic, but the Western option was equally as appealing.
Cons: Overall, we liked our stay, but consider it to have been a rather pricey experience for what we got. The facilities, while all well-maintained and clean, are a little outdated at this point, with a bit of an 80s/90s feel. There is a newer wing of the hotel (which is where the restaurant is located), so perhaps the rooms located there are more contemporary while maintaining a traditional style and feel. Check-in and check-out times are very strict; note that staff will ring your doorbell unannounced the morning you're supposed to leave to take your credit card and secure payment! Having two TV's in the room seemed excessive; it would have been nice if they were either tucked away behind a screen or not there at all. While the hotel property itself is very quiet and peaceful, note that it's located at a rather big intersection. This won't affect your stay at the hotel per se, but if you're imagining a secluded or remote kind of set-up, you might be surprised when you pull up.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: A very beautiful resort onsen. We had an onsen suite which meant we had our own private onsen. It was wonderful to use as the nights were chilly. Loved it! The staff was excellent and spoke great English, which was quite helpful since our Japanese is very basic! We would stay here again!
7,5 Good
Pros: Absolutely stunning hotel - very classic Japanese
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a suite with private onsen which was a special treat. Rooms were spacious and very clean, lovely traditional Japanese style. Kaiseki meal was fabulous and the restaurant was able to adapt all courses for my wife who didn’t eat fish. Nicely located for Kawaguchiko lake although you don’t get lake or Mt Fuji views from the hotel.
Cons: You have to eat dinner very early which means you are all done by about 8pm. The hotel has no bar so you have to go out for any further evening activities.
Hotel New Century - Fujikawaguchiko - Building

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful Fuji view from the room, absolutely fantastic. The Onsen also shares great mountain view. The decoration has a little bit ages and old-fashion, but I like it. It feels like returning to the last century. The staffs were friendly and absolutely responsible, a high class Japanese standard.
Cons: The dinner was just OK, not as good as the room and other experience.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great views. We could spend hours sitting and watching Mt Fuji come and go with the weather. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The public baths are high quality with good views and facilities to continue relaxing. Brown tea dispensers and massage chairs are a welcome bonus.
Cons: Didn't seem to be an option to join dinners after check-in, more reliance on other restaurants and convenience shops.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Oh my goodness - we thoroughly enjoyed our time here! The staff were absolutely aMAZing - always anticipating needs and even moved the breakfast time for us when we had to depart early. And the breakfasts? Beautiful display of traditional Japanese foods. There was so much pride in it. :). We enjoyed the onsens and the massage chairs outside of the onsen rooms and utilized them each day we were there. Our rooms were provided with lovely kimono type robes for the onsens, too. While we were there, we were SO fortunate to have incredible weather and stunning views of Mt. Fuji. Wow. We walked from there to the ropeway and to the sightseeing boat and then even walked to the station. It was a bit far, but the weather was great and we were on an adventure!
Cons: I had read many reviews about the hotel being outdated, particularly for the price. It *is* an older hotel and it shows, and it was more expensive, but it reminded me of guest houses in Europe and the staff MORE than made up for the lack of plushness.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very good service
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The staffs are very nice. Breakfast and dinner are perfect. Fuji view onsen is the best.
Cons: Wifi is slow.
7,0 Good
Pros: Friendly and polite staff!
Cons: Seems there’s just very little mineral in the onsen...
9,6 Excellent
Pros: No complaints at all. Their staffs are one of the best I’ve met throughout my japan trip. Keep it up!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Felt rather special. Very friendly and helpful staff even by Japan's high friendly and helpful standards. Fabulous onsens (hot public baths) with great views (including of Mt Fuji, when it's not hiding behind clouds). Great location on the lake, excellent shuttle service between hotel and station, and a nice gift shop. Would recommend booking breakfast before you arrive. We'd already eaten by the time we got there, but the restaurant for evening meals looked very nice. We were in a shared room for 3 which came with a comfortable lounge area, fridge, kettle and a good-sized shower/toilet room. Beds v comfy. Our room was not facing Fuji or the lake, but as it was dark when we arrived and grey when we left, that hardly mattered. Highly recommend.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic place to stay. The staff were so helpful and the room was great with the view of the lake and Mt Fuji in the background. The breakfast was very good and we really enjoyed the onsen. I would definitely recommend this place.

6,3 Good
Pros: Location! Just on opposite of train station.
Cons: Towels!! They are just terrible!! Very old with bad smell. Need to replace immediately! Caprets and floor are very durty. You need to leave your shoes at entrance and socks become durty in a minute. There is no microwave or oven, only hot water. No free access to a fridg, need to ask staff to put and take something every time. Each evening I felt strong cigarette smell on each floor (no idea where it comes from, but for 3 nights it was the same)

Yamadaya Hotel - Fujikawaguchiko - Building

8,7 Excellent (627 reviews)

Overview Reviews
Yamadaya Hotel, located on the shores of Lake Shoji, boasts beautiful views of Mt. Fuji. Guests are welcome to bring pets, and the lakeshore in front of the hotel is an excellent place for walking dogs. There are two private open-air baths available by reservation, where guests can enjoy views of Mt. Fuji while soaking in natural hot springs. Meals feature plenty of fresh ingredients. Guest rooms are Japanese inn style, and every room has views of Lake Shoji and Mt. Fuji.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: First the DINNER!! If you plan to go to this hotel without taking dinner, you will regret it too much if you see someone eating kaiseki style artful dinner at the restaurant with Mt. Fuji view. Overall atmosphere was great and so relaxing. After going up to Mt. Fuji Panaroma trek, it’s so good to relax in the private onsen. They let us reserve for free the private onsen twice for just 1 night stay. The traditional room is huge and the view is breathtaking. The staff is very kind too and there’s a young lady speaking very well English. I was afraid that it would be so difficult to reach there after i read other comments but finally we just followed google map bus propositions and it was pretty easy.
Cons: From the outside hotel doesn’t look so charming and it looks very old but once inside, especially in the room, everything is perfect. Compared to many other ryokan prices, after searching for a long time, i think this place is the best to live the experience(you must take half-bord option)
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location with stunning view of Mount Fuji
Cons: Very dated and facilities need upgrade but you not paying for the hotel you are paying for the amazing view across lake following sunrise!!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The views from the hotel rooms and the private onsen was amazing. The dinner served at the restaurant was excellent.
Cons: Hot water in the shower doesn't come immediately sometimes. A local cat stole my onigiri while sitting near the lake (watch out for cats).
7,9 Good
Pros: The location is nice, just in front of Mount Fuji, with a nice view. Not so easy to reach by public transport, but very close to the bus stop. There is nothing to do at eveneing nearby, but is a great place to relax for a couple.
Cons: Not much to do in the evening, not flexible for dinner. you need to book dinner in advance, or need to walk out to a nearby restaurant, but that closes at 6PM.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: This place is great. It gave us a really nice Ryokan experience. You get fresh green tee to your room all day and the onsen is free to use. The rooms have an astonishing view of Mount Fuji. Also the food (price not included) is awesome. Even though I am vegan, it was absolutely no problem. I really recommend this place!
Cons: Nothing

10,0 Excellent
Cons: Perfect location and very nice dinner also the owner .
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The guesthouse is run by a young couple. They are kind and helpful, and also thanks to them I very much enjoyed my stay. The rooms are simple and not roomy, but perfectly adequate. Breakfast and dinner is simple too: a few choices of dinner, fixed times as they don't run a restaurant "cuisine". I ate there 3 evenings, and enjoyed most of their options. Water and tea or coffee (depending on the time) are for free at the meals, prices are very reasonable. The host is also a Mt Fuji guide. I always climb on my own, but he can tell you all there is to know and also organise your hike up the sacred mountain, if you are so inclined. (If you have little experiences - be warned, it's a serious hike - prepare yourself.) The host also can pick you up from the railway station and other places - call them to use this option, as it's a 15 min drive and quite expensive by taxi. As the host also doubles in the kitchen work, he is not available around breakfast and dinner, so make sure to communicate well, prerably in advance. They have bicycles standing outside that you can use. I really loved the hot bath they have. With views on Fuji.
Cons: I have no idea!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: View from room aand restaurant to Fudji. Private, very nice onsen bookable. Bikes available. Good dinner
Cons: Only japanese breakfast
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The futon floor mats, the DELICIOUS dinner and breakfast, the private onsen, the traditional Japanese experience, the view of Mt. Fuji from our window, the awesome, attentive staff!
Cons: There was a slight musty smell in the bathroom
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The guest house is located in a very beautiful natural area, we like it very much. it's away from the noise of the city, have good view to the fuji mount from the window. The host is very nice, they drive the guest to kawakuchiko station every morning, and picked up the guests from there in the afternoon. Hotel is very comfortable, and it has cozy dinning room, bar and beautiful view, simple but home tast food. You also have chance to have private hot bath. Definitely highly recommendable if you would like to explore fuji mount area.

Pros: Location and meals.
Cons: Carpet, sheets and comforter.
6,3 Good
Pros: new bathrooms, clean room, simple onsen, large sized rooms with a view (though it was cloudy so not sure?) most properties in the area were built in the 70s and for the price point in comparison to other onsen is not bad, not great. quiet and close to nature. shouji is a small fishing lake and has kayak and team boat racing set on the edge of aokigahara. close to fujikawaguchiko & kofu.
Cons: musty towels, in-room refrigerator didn’t work, stained carpets in hallways & futon was quite thin.

Cons: A bit dated but cute.

Pros: The staff is extremely friendly and lovely. Because all surrounding restaurants were closed, they cooked dinner only for me. I am very happy that I booked this beautiful hotel with two very big onsen - I even stood up earlier to enjoy an onsen bath before checking out. Pros: Location and views. The buffet breakfast was extensive with lots of Japanese items and a chef frying eggs for people with more of a western taste. The location is on the top floor which gives you excellent views of the lake and Mount Fuji.
Cons: The bathroom is old style with a very short soaking tub and a sink that barely comes above your knees.

Cons: Hotel a bit outdated but yet charming.

Pros: Great view of the lake from our room. Good size bedroom and lovely breakfast
Cons: Could do with updating but had a traditional Japanese feel
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast( western)
Cons: The hotel could use a good renovation
7,1 Good
Pros: Good location in the village with functional facilities. As a full disclosure, the hotel is divided into a west and east wing. West wing is older and somewhat run down, we had some moist stains in the room and found a bug. However, the east side is significantly better. Breakfast was great and staff was very professional and nice. As an example they provided food to our room when our som was sick despite not having an official room service - truly excellent service! Despite the room for improvment in some areas we were satisfied with our stay.
Cons: Se above re. East/West wing but we were mostly satisfied and would stay here again.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Magnificent room service and staff with fantastic views.
Cons: N/A
7,0 Good
Pros: Great breakfast with an amazing view of Fuji. The view from the rooms is not as great but the breakfast room view is fantastic. Nice Onsen downstairs as well. Lovely views and lakes around. Nice little Indian restaurant a few mins away as well for anyone who fancies a curry in Japan!
Cons: Check in and Check out times are always an issue I have with hotels. Why allow some in at 3 and then make them leave by 10? For one night only travellers, this can be annoying. But again, not really a major issue. Just requires planning.

Pros: The staff was very helpful and welcoming. It's located in a very quiet town. The view from the room was beautiful.

Pros: It was a wonderful stay! The owner and his daughter so friendly, helpful and went out of their way for me. The owner picked my luggage up when I arrived (kawaguchiko station). I went site seeing and later he picked me up from Kawaguchiko Station to take me back to the Ryokan that evening - what a service! The food is so delicious! The flavours so tasty. If you are fussy with food or dont like seafood you may have an issue. In that case mention it and im sure they will look after you. There wasnt a menu, I just ordered breakfast and dinner and it was a surprise! A MUST SEE and do is to take one of the bikes out. They are at the front of the ryokan and free. Turn left out of the ryokan and ride for about 10 minutes at a normal pace. You will be greeted with a view of the top of Mt Fuji - stunning! This ryokan is away from the hoards of the tourists in a quiet area. There is a parking area and the lake. You can sit and enjoy the view. If you ride a bit further you will get even more of a view and a wider part of the lake - again, stunning! Highly recommend staying here for some peace and quiet.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very good location , we loves to walk around the lake , bicycle provided for riding , nice staffs with good in English and absolutely excellent breakfast
Cons: Good location, room space are larger than standard room
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The decor was very out dated but we liked it in a kitsch way. The room was large and the complimentary water is always and added bonus
Cons: Location was good right at a green line bus stop but in hindsight maybe something closer to the station where there are more options for restaurants would have been better. However, for a one night stay it was suitable
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a quiet location with a fabulous view of Fuji - which did not come out for us, but you can tell just from the foothills it would be magnificent. The rooms were very large and quiet. Free parking was great.
Cons: The staff have very little English, which is concerning given the nature of their clientele. There was a fire nearby and there were emergency PA announcements made in the night - I called reception to get an explanation of what was going on but the person on the desk could not speak a word of English. While I wish I spoke better Japanese, this was not exactly reassuring.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We had a beautiful view from our room! Enjoyed walking on the premises.
Cons: Selection of breakfast items.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The baths, the rooms, everything else.
Cons: We arrived late & restaurants nearby were already fully booked. It would be useful if booking included a reservation option.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We went to the theme park here Was expensive$200 aud to get a taxi to the nearest airport for Kyoto

Pros: very good
Cons: Onsen is too small
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent view from hotel balcony. Staff service was gooood! Great that they had private onsen for familily unit like us, with small kids. Would return if given a chance.
Cons: The bathtub could be bigger. Though overall staff customer service was great, not all staff were able to speak English fluently. This resulted in misunderstanding on the charges at checkout. When explaining the itemised items at checkout, I was told charges for breakfast instead of hot spring tax. This resulted in clarification via emails as room I booked was inclusive of breakfast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We liked location , onsen , food , hotel itself and staff.
Cons: Refrigerator is full of beverages with extra fee and no space for your own drinks . Plus it automatically locks every morning at 7 am.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet location amazing view
Cons: Hard to get to from Kyoto needs a train then bus
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The level of service was amazing.
Cons: The hotel interior is a little tired.
6,3 Good
Pros: The Onsen on the 7th floor with the lake view is nice, and the traditional breakfast and dinner are also cool experiences if you haven’t had a chance to do something similar elsewhere in Japan.
Cons: The hotel feels a bit old. For the traditional rooms this is part of the experience I assume, but for the modern rooms I think it might be a bit too old.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Just one night but staff were amazing. They all turned out to say goodbye in the lobby. Mount Fuji view is on the top floor. Catch it early morning before clouds form.
Cons: Smallish rooms ... but that’s Japan.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved every second of our stay here: from the friendly service (super staff, thank you for all the suggestions, the chats and the help getting around) to the awesome in-room bathtub overlooking the lake, from the AMAZING food (we had Kaiseki twice, never repeated a dish: extremely high quality and plentiful) to the adorable souvenirs shop (some items we didn't find anywhere else around). Not all that difficult to reach (by both JR train and expressway bus from Shinjuku) and with a great shuttle service (though within easy reach walking from the station). Absolutely recommend, it was one of the highlights of our trip.

Pros: The facilities were great, staff very friendly and the hotel is in a great location near the lake.
Cons: Rooms were on the small side but you get what you pay for in Japan as space is a luxury.
7,5 Good
Pros: The suite with the Fuji view is nice. We can stare at the view for the whole day. Breakfast was a wide spread and super delicious. Overall was a pleasant experience and all staffs were nice and friendly.
Cons: Served dinner was fully booked which was very sad. There isn't any instruction on how to wear the Japanese robe and rules and regulations for going to the bath in the room. Only down side is that check in time is 3pm and check out time is 10am which is pretty restrictive.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The private open-air onsen
Cons: The price
5,0 Okay
Pros: I liked the hotel facilities especially the onsens and lobby area. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Cons: I only stayed in a room that matched my budget so the higher priced rooms may have been better quality. However the bed sheet was thin and you could see the stains on the mattress protector which was off putting. The bed wasn't comfortable and the room was very dated. It was also noisy as I could here guests in the hallway as well as bathroom fans from adjoining rooms and running water. Also the dinner was fully booked so there was no opportunity to eat on site.
7,5 Good
Pros: Hotel is well located. The staff was very nice and friendly. The baths are great, I preferred the outside ones, a bit cooler. There is also a large place to enjoy drinks, tea etc... on the ground floor.
Cons: We got the cheap room compared to all the fantastic rooms they have. Still, the paint was scratched in many places, the paint was very dark too, it was not quiet because we were just above the generators for the AC - very loud during the night. I also found the bathroom very tiny and the step made it dangerous to exit.
6,7 Good
Pros: There are indoor and outdoor hot springs.
Cons: The hotel is quite old and 15mins walk to train station.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Good onsen and friendy staff

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The view and large room space. This hotel has the best view of Mount Fuji. Although the exterior of the hotel looks old, the room looks new. The staff are helpful and nice. They picked us up from the station and even help us send a fellow traveller who was stranded at the train station to their hotel at night. They also help me retrieve my stuff that fell into the catch basin. Kudos to the staff.
Cons: Buffet could be better.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice and clean room. Nice spa, good breakfast. From the room, you could see Mt. Fuji, with Lake Kawaguchi-ko. Supber view. We came by car, the car was taken care of for parking by staff.
Cons: Bit old furniture, just worn, but everything was very clean
7,5 Good
Pros: The view from the room is amazing. The outdoor onsen was good
Cons: The hotel does not reply to email. Only accept calls. They do have a 24hour front desk
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect. Staff were most helpful and agreeable. Onsen was nice. The train station pick up was a pleasant unexpected surprise.
Cons: The whole hotel need a serious renovation. Everything seemed a bit chatty and run down. Furniture in the room was stained. Generally a bit threadbare all over. Not dirty just worn out and run down. The dining hall was a bit cold and unappealing, like a hospital cafeteria, cold bright lighting, vinyl chairs, no ambience or attempt at creating a pleasant dining environment. The buffet was very average both for dinner and breakfast. For the price I guess we shouldn't complain but pretty below par for Japanese standards. This place obviously used to churn a lot of tour groups.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Although it doesn’t have a terrace the view by just seating by the window at the lake and Mount Fuji was just amazing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The service at restaurant is excellent. They have done the best to take care of your need, particular for the family who bring the baby.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, just in front of the lake with a splendid view to MT. Fuji
Cons: Bit old(furniture) but very clean
7,9 Good
Pros: Location - Lake side with Mt Fuji view, convenient for a run around the lake, free parking. Onsen - Spacious and with open air onsen.
Cons: Breakfast & dinner - Because meals are buffet style, we had the same food choices for both days.

5,8 Okay
Pros: Comfortable rooms and good onsen
Cons: All public areas very tired, food was average and dinner the second evening was mostly the previous evenings leftovers. Staff friendly but almost impossible to communicate, definitely not value for money- we were expecting so much more from previous reviews
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in this hotel for the views and experiences. The view of Mount Fuji from our room/private bath was spectacular and the views of the lake and mountains at the front of the hotel was too. The Japanese experience was great. We slept on the floor, they provided kimono's for the ladies and robes for the gents, the onsen experience, and the evening meal was first class. The buffet breakfast gave us good choice of western and Japanese food.
Cons: The hotel is in a very quiet location (this might be to your liking!).
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The ryokan itself was clean and peaceful. The food and also staff were lovely.
Cons: Futons were slightly uncomfortable because we weren’t used to it.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Japanese style room is very good, I can see the Mt. Fuji by the window
Cons: WIFI is not good

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel location is very convenient, where 5 minutes walk to Fuji-Q Highland. There are a lot of restaurants and convenient stores nearby. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They help me to book the next bus ride because I don't speak Japanese. The room is very clean and more roomy than other hotel. This is a family owned hotel. The family members all work very hard to serve travelers. They make customers feel like home. I will book this hotel again if I come back to this area.
Cons: Nothing.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Woke up to watch Fuji mountain and it’s breathtaking! The room is quite big compare to other hotel rooms in Japan and the public onsen is very nice. They also provide massage chair in the room
7,1 Good

Pros: Amazing view, lots of restaurants along the road, the fun park is close by as well for additional entertainment. I suggest you go there by car though (actually the whole area is much easier to go around by car anyways)
Cons: No buffett bfast, although they did warn us it was going to be a japanese one, but I guess you can never prepare yourself for grilled salmon in the morning
