Pros: It was a pleasure to stay here as we drove from the UK to Prague. Staff were super helpful and even went out of their way to cook us some food, despite the kitchen being closed, at 11pm on a Sunday night!
Cons: Nothing
8,8 Excellent

Cons: Breakfast isn't the best. Also, there were flies all over, and on notifying staff they were not very responsive.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: At the end of October 2017 we stayed one night (Saturday night) at this hotel, which we think is good value for money (€ 125) although the breakfast is outrageously expensive (€ 25). The room was modern, clean and very pleasant. The windows in the room can be opened which is very nice to get some fresh air in the room. The bathroom was very spacious with an excellent shower. Good bed, with excellent pillows. The hotel has underground parking for € 15 per 24 hours. The hotel is 3 km from the city center and there is a subway station close to the hotel. The autobahn is also appr. 3 km from the hotel. 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel there is a street (Ruettenscheiderstrasse) with a lot of different and affordable restaurants. We stayed in a room on the front side (‘city view’) which is a problem if there is a concert or dance event in the Gruga Halle (appr. 100 meters from the hotel), which was the case when we stayed there. This meant we could only sleep with our earplugs. The hotel has a gym, a sauna, steam bath and swimming pool. The latter was closed during our stay but the other facilities were open. The hotel has very friendly and helpful staff but they somehow have a very complex system of charging your credit card. I had to call them twice (once during the stay and once after) to understand the different amounts they had charged to my credit card (the total of the amounts added up to the correct amount, but I couldn’t figure out how and why they had split it in different amounts).
Cons: They have a very complex system of charging your credit card. I had to call them twice (once during the stay and once after) to understand the different amounts they had charged to my credit card (the total of the amounts added up to the correct amount, but I couldn’t figure out how and why they had split it in different amounts).
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent with a very widw choice of food and drink.
Cons: Not much.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: I like the hotel und their rooms, great staff and good service.
Cons: The breakfast is far to expensive, I have to say, and I hate to queue for my coffee, there was just one machine for so many people. There should be a lower rate for people like me who only want a croissant and a coffee in the morning :-)

7,1 Good
Pros: The free parking close by and nice breakfast.
Cons: Quite a small room.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was exceptional good! a huge selection compared to other chain hotels ! really like a 5-star luxury hotel breakfast ! Just fish: there was salmon, tuna fish, herring filets and Brathering etc...the staff were very friendly !!!! BONUS: a city ticket was also included ! when i checked out, i received a lunch bag with an apple, an egg, a sandwich, chocolate, juice and some sweets!!!! such a nice experience staying there ! Highly recommended !!!
Cons: the washroom was quite new and renovated. unfortunately it still smelled. that was the only unpleasant experience. other than that everything was perfect!
7,1 Good
Pros: The rooms are small but clean. Friendly and helpful staff. We stayed there during the Gofest and it is just 30mins. away from the location. It is a good alternative when all hotels in Dortmund are all booked. The breakfast was superb and the packed lunch was great!
Cons: I didn't like the fact that i booked 2 double bedrooms a month before the arrival date, it wasn't just a last minute booking therefore, we were surprise that the only room available for us was a single room and a double room. Although we appreciate that the staff was very apologetic and friendly and we were offered a refund of the difference of the total amount but i would prefer the rooms that we originally booked for comfort cuz we are a family of 5. We were also offered if we want to stay somewhere else but after a long drive we just accepted it. It was just a bit annoying that we have to squeeze in one double bed with 2 kids.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Service oriented staff! They were all super helpful. Great location, less than a minute from the metro. Walking distance from Essen main station too if you choose to skip the short tram ride and walk through the neighborhood instead. Lovely and trendy neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, cafes and shopping.
Cons: Terrible cloak smell in my bathroom with a bad, noisy fan/ventilation. There is no natural ventilation in the bathroom to compensate for the inefficient old fan. If you leave the bathroom door open your bedroom smells. The weather was warm so was able to leave the windows open 24hrs for the duration of my visit, which helped a lot. I identified that the overpowering smell came from the shower drain. By covering it with a towel the smell was reduced. I guess this also explains why housekeeping left the bath mat right on top every time they cleaned the room!! That is the only negative about this hotel for me (if you are very sensitive to smells).
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast selection was excellent. They also offer free packed lunches, although I wasn't close enough to the hotel at lunchtime to try that. They also give free tickets covering public transport in the VRR area, which represents a considerable discount on the room price if you are not using a car. Wifi reception is good.
Cons: Although there are four floors there is no lift. It don't bother me but if you have difficulty climbing stairs it could be a problem.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel looks very proffesional. Room was clear and modern. I like it. It is possible to take a rest.
Cons: Maybe it was my fault - omission, that a breakfast not included in the price. I was a little bit confused when they called me to pay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was very nice and clean.
6,7 Good
Pros: Great location, very clean.
Cons: Lack of toilet privacy (toilets basically open in the room).
7,9 Good
Pros: The room decor was funky and functional. We like that. There was ample parking and it is quiet. The communal areas are very clean and there are board games available.
Cons: There was a large amount of flies in the swimming pool area, maybe because of the country side location. At breakfast, the kitchen staff did not know how to poach eggs. The side entrance near the bar should never be open as it is next to the bedroom windows and people are too loud.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff. Very dog friendly. Excellent room. Super breakfast.
Cons: One of the three main courses our table ordered was inedible: the pasta was too thick and very hard and the filling was too solid. There was a big party in and I suspect the pasta had been sitting on the pass for too long. This was pointed out but late on, written on the bill and mentioned to reception upon check out. It was a shame as it spoiled an otherwise excellent stay.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: This hotel has a restaurant with an outside terrace. You can find a bag in your room with towel, bathrobe and slippers if you want to visit a wellness center with sauna and swimming pool (not very big). The hotel is at the end of the urban area, but you can find supermarket in walking distance (2km by car).
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was excellent !
Cons: Nothing ....

Pros: Fantastic location. If you want to stay in a real castle it’s the only way togo.
Cons: Bathroom had mold on the grout. Was a bit overpriced for dinning and the room.
7,9 Good
Pros: The location is beautiful, as well as the building and the rooms. We brought our small dog and they provided a nice bed , treat and water. Nice touch
Cons: Breakfast was just OK. The fruit was not fresh or even bad (strawberries). This was unfortunate.

Pros: The hotel was just few meters to the main train station and in the center of Düsseldorf that made the transportation , and accommodation easy and few steps to main shopping centers ,train station and restaurants very easy . The room were quite and clean , receptionists were so helpful and friendly . I want also to pass my appreciation and thanks to booking.com for help that made two times reservation easy and so much cheaper than the hotel website it self by about 15%
Cons: Every thing we’re perfect except breakfast was a bit expensive that made us to do reservation without breakfast and had my breakfast outside .
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Returning after an earlier visit I knew what to expect: rather big hotel but with a "family-feel". Location opposite the Hbf has advantages but I experienced (Saturday) some outside noise. Nice bar for a night cap.
Cons: Nothing.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Perfect position, very quiet, great beds, staff at the reception was very polite and helpful.
Cons: The staff serving breakfast was not very polite.
6,7 Good
Cons: The hotel has a significant data protection and security problems. Firstly, a call was made to ask for a credit card details, as I supposed to send some money to the hotel and they were desperate to send it back to me, taken, I will give them my credit card number... Then during the breakfast, one could not leave the table for few seconds (to get something else to eat or drink) as everything, including personal belongings was taken straight away. At the end I had to pack mobile and the room card in my pockets whenever moving to get the second helping.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness, pleasant staff, location
Cons: Breakfast selection

9,5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent and consisted of a full buffet choice The hotel location is in a pre WW2 garden suburb with pleasant surroundings, but limited shops in easy walking distance. Local Transport to Essen Hbf and beyond is available within 5 minutes walk and connections to other local centres is via the Hbf.
Cons: The hotel caters mainly for German guests, but the staff were all courteous and spoke good english. However we would have appreciated english brochures - most were only in german. We were given a local map, but this didn't show local streets and we only found the way to Grupa Park using our phones. Although we had some assistance to receive TV programs, it was limited to german TV.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant Hotel. Very friendly and extra helpful staff. Really comfortable bed and modern furnished room.I Great selection for breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
6,3 Good
Pros: Free parking on the market square in front of the hotel.
Cons: The hotel had a brochure of a few things to do in the area but no one could tell us where the first site was located. Wait staff at dinner we’re not attentive, got my drink order wrong & just left me with it, food was overpriced and nothing spectacular & took forever to get anything delivered. Breakfast was also expensive for what was offered - I guess they offered some guests an omelet but not us. Also I was offered only coffee - no tea or hot chocolate. Need to train the staff.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Anything else!
Cons: Loud fan which couldn't be turned off. Shower leaking when in use.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Quiet surrounding within a big city, small hotel, big room, recharger available for the electric car, good restaurant
Cons: No negatives!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Locatio is very nice, and there is a free parking on selected days in a week. The bed was very good, and in general the room was nice. The extra coffee in the room is a nice addition.
Cons: The hotel itslef is very nice, I would only complain that I paid for one fruit juice 5,40€, when you compare that to the price of the breakfast (14€) it is not realistic. Breakfast was good, but as the menu was not on every table I did not for example know that they prepare fresh eggs per order. This is something the waiter should have mention that. It would have been nice.
7,9 Good
Pros: Breakfast...excellent with a great choice of food and drinks
Cons: No elevator in the 2nd building

Pros: The hotel was vey Clean
8,8 Excellent
Pros: I interacted with both night and day staff. They are so kind and smiling. Thanks
Cons: In my opinion, breakfast is expensive. I had feeling like if I paid for each item, would have been cheaper. That maybe because I don't each much, though. Another very important point is that, before my visit, booking send me notification that hotel did send you confirmation on my special request was accepted and would be arranged however when I was at the hotel, staff did not even know my request. I had to find your confirmation and show them. After that they checked 4 rooms but at the end they could not arrange. So, pls before confirming, check 2 times as it was almost midnight and I had to spend 30 min for that after a long trip. Thanks

Cons: Water in the room isn't complimentary. Very good location, room is nice and clean. Car parking 20€/per night
5,0 Okay

6,7 Good
Pros: It was just fine.
Cons: The breakfast was boring.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: I really enjoyed my stay. My room (on the ground floor) was simple but decorated with style. The whole building is really beautiful: the building where the mine workers used to receive their paycheck. WiFi worked well. Staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. A true highlight was the breakfast, which was delicious.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: A small hotel with a very nice staff. Very clean. Wonderful breakfast. Quiet. It’s the kind of personal hotels I ’m usually looking for outside the town centers with the little extra.
7,5 Good
Pros: The staff was super friendly ! From the person checking me in, tru dinner / breakfast & check out. The hotel has a small restaurant, but the cook served a lovely meal - excellent value for money. Breakfast was maybe not the biggest buffet, but offered every single thing you needed including a fresh, homemade fruit salad which was delicious and unseen in many of the bigger chain hotels.
Cons: Although the building is a unique location and they are right in maintaining it as original as possible, it was not very practical to drag a heavy suitcase up several stairs and through different hallways / doors ... the room was small but the bathroom was just tiny, one could barely move. The purpose of the curtains went passed me as the windows were larger than the curtains were ... The WiFi was not strong enough to work on.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Location was oke
Cons: To hot in the room. Nog fresh air.

Pros: Very close to my business partner; Many things in the room, like coffee machine, weights etc; Very nice and politful stuff )
Cons: Room is very small ) I'm a big guy, was not to much space for me. I got sick in Prague with my stomach, day before. Sorry for some mess (((
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was great. Even a little language barrier was not a problem because they really really wanted to help you every possible time you asked for something.
Cons: Car park. CAR PARK AND CAAAARRR PARRRK I was sure that there would be a car park next to the hotel but unfortunetly when we arrived I had to pay extra 4 euros for special permit from the hotel to park the car on the street. It would not be a problem because 4euro is not a fortune at all but finding free parking space on the street in the evening is just a bigggg problem. I was sure there would be at least car park there so it was a bit dissapoining.

Cons: Parking- there is none. Parking on the side street (especially night hours) is not really convenient, and should be pointed out in the description of the hotel, for those to who that matters.
