Pros: Wonderful personnel, some of the most friendly and helpful staff I've seen - at reception, at breakfast, at the bar. Should give lessons to other hotels :-) Breakfast was a little pricey, so ate 2 times at hotel and 2 times at the Extrablatt Bistro (they have buffet breakfast too) on Ruthenscheid, both options were great. Walking distance to bars and restaurants on Ruthenscheid, not so walking distance to Essen Hbf but u could take the U tram to Philarmonie station. Pool & sauna were lovely, althou I would appreciate more beds to relax, two is really not enough.

Cons: The room was a bit cold (it was November) and had no heater, also the balcony door had no handle on the outside so it had to be left ajar when outside. There was no Do Not Disturb sign for the door and housekeeping came into the room a couple of times while we were still there.

Pros: Friendly service and the location of the hotel. We asked for 2 extra pillows and within 15 minutes the lady brought it to our room. Everything was neat and clean and the breakfast was very good. Coffee and tea facilities in the room as well as n little fridge.

Cons: was an issue to get an invoice while checking out. Reception said that the invoice should come from booking.com, as the reservation was made there. strange! Usually, an invoice is done by the party who charges the payment. and it was Sheraton Essen ! Finally hotel agreed for printing invoice. On my request to include cost of breakfast into the accommodation line, they also refused... Strange, as i always requeste it while business travelling, in order to follow requirements of my accountant.

Pros: Good location , just off the shopping street and beside the Limbecker shoppong plaza, sligthly hidden away on a side street, so no issues with noise at night. Room although small was very clean and well layed out. Bathroom shower was excellent and a great extra touch - heated floor tiles in the bathroom. Room also provided a complementary bottle of water. Breakfast in hte morning was nice - fresh bread rolls with selection of meats abd cheeses, scrambeled eggs or boiled and yoghurt and fresh fruit + tea /coffee. breakfast available from 6am-10. Staff were friendly and helpful with directions, also has 24hr front desk. This is a nice quite hotel located close to city centre and walking distance to tube stations and shopping areas. Would stay again if i required a hotel in Essen.

Cons: No issues really - i would just say, while they indicate free parking and there is free parking available, there are about 7 parking spots, so if you dont get there early you wont have a space. But there are a number of public carparks in the area - i picked the one 30 meters away - just €5 a day. But be careful - it does not open on Sundays - if you are like me and failed to read the signs , you could end up with your car locked in there for the day !! Luckly i was staying in town until Monday, so no issue.

Cons: Unfortunately the water running from shower was changing from cold to warm and hot. Few spots in shower (the venting or the light over the sink) were dirty. The hotel is in reconstruction.

Cons: For the price I paid it was really poor quality...I expected it to be way cleaner (there were cigarette butts lying around) and at least a little bigger. When I arrived the window was open and the heater turned off which probably isn't the best thing to do in winter because it was freezing in the room.
