Pros: The hotel is located 3-4 blocks from the center. It was perfect for my trip. I could make morning excursions and come back and rest before going back out. The staff was super attentive and helpful. A great place to stay in the city.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Felt like home! Staff were lovely and treated us like family. In the historic district, a few blocks from Parque Calderón. Absilutely no complaints.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible place. The kindest staff you will ever meet. Edwin and Rene were warm, kind, gave wonderful advice and information, and were genuinely so happy to help us! The owner is fantastic and so invested in the guests. The woman who serves breakfast is so gracious and warm, and served fantastic food. Compared to typical hotels which rely on sterile modernism and an empty sense of professionalism, this colonial hotel was a beacon of warmth and wellness. A paragon of hospitality, a homecoming away from home.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing, amazing, amazing. Best hotel I have stayed in my entire holiday. Amazing staff, great rooms with loads of character and comfortable beds and so quiet considering where it is. Breakfast is delicious. The owner is also brilliant.
Cons: Nothing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The old world charm, amazing staff, incredible owner, and awesome location. The staff and owner were extremely helpful in facilitating whatever you wanted to accomplish everyday. They treated us like family, and honored guests.
Cons: Potentially noisy if trying to sleep in, or get to bed early, and one is a light sleeper. However, guest and staff respected the hours between 10 pm and 7:30 am. My wife and i had no problems with this issue, but be aware.
10,0 Excellent

Pros: The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to find restaurants for us and book the tours we wanted. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and there was lots of hot water in the shower. The location is excellent. Just a short walk to the old city center.

Pros: We got a room upgrade, which was already a good start :-) The room we got was very spacious, small bathroom, but good facilities, and good working shower. The hotel looks really nice and the people are very friendly and helpful, speaking good English. The breakfast was superb! Every morning a different delicious breakfast. From the hotel, you just walk two blocks and you’re at the main park/square by the big cathedral.

Pros: The owner Alberto Ordóñez went out of his way to help me with suggestions of things to do and see , where to eat . He treated me like family !

4,2 Okay
Pros: The driver that picked me up at Guayaquil airport was extremely educated and well informed. The receptionist gave me good tips for visiting the city.
Cons: The driver came to pick me up 2 hours later from the airport because the property didnt read my email on time. In addition, the staff that attended me at the restaurant during breakfast was disrespectful and didnt served me the wrong breakfast.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: It’s in the heart of Cuenca, the hotel is beautiful and the staff makes you feel like home.
Cons: The beds weren’t that comfortable for the price you pay. The food wasn’t that good either, they don’t have 24 hrs room service. I reached 7pm very hungry and there was only sandwiches on the menu.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property, excellent staff, wonderful restaurant. We also enjoyed tea time and the live piano player
Cons: All good
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property, housed in 19th century mansion right in the heart of the historic center; tastefully decorated, lobby is spectacular; beautiful atrium garden; room decorated with antiques, and definite attention to detail; bed is comfortable, nice shower
Cons: Bathroom was a little cramped, room was on the small side

Pros: We love the beauty of the hotel, privacy, they close the main door at certain hour so it feels like home. Staff was super servicial. Food, environment, facility, everything was class A.
Cons: Some pieces of wood tile in our room were squeaky ( noisy ) when you stepped but we understood since it is an old property ( an old family house )

Pros: I travel the world in my job. I am top status with Marriott and second to top with IHG. And, I also stay in boutique hotels occasionally. This hotel is fantastic! At the top of my list. Stay here.
Cons: The room was a bit cool at night but I would stay here again in a heartbeat:
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The maison itself - Belle Époque experience; staff was fantastic; VERY good gourmet restaurant
Cons: Water flow in the bathroom was slow (esp for hot water)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: There are many great hotels, but I suspect in not many the staff will help you find a doctor, when you get sick (as I did), take you to a hospital, and act as interpreters.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was wonderful and the restaurant had an amazing view. The hotel was very centrally located and it was easy to walk everywhere.
Cons: I did not like that our room was all the way at the bottom. There were cats crying loudly one night right outside our door.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel. Everything was great and great staff.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was delicious. We were served a platter of fruit, yoghurt, muesli and some fresh fruit juice. As well we received warm bread rolls with butter and jam. We were then served our choice of eggs and one meat. Yummy! Our room was just beautiful! We had a sitting room as well as a beautiful balcony overlooking the river. We strongly recommend Rosa- who was marvellous!!
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The place is very nice with a lot of character great location and an exceptional food served both for breakfast and in the restaurant. Staff was very available and assisted me with calling a doctor, ordering medications and more so I cannot stress how welcome we felt.
Cons: I was not allowed to check out later than the regualar 12h00. As my flight was only at 18h and was travelling with a small baby I found it a nuisance and not the best treatment.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location was fantastic, close to many museums, cafes and restaurants and a short walk to Park Calderon and best of all overlooking the Tomebamba River and backing onto the park and bicycle/walking path. My room faced the river and had a wall of glass, proving a beautiful view. The hotel also has a beautiful restaurant where breakfast is served. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: My room needed better bedside lighting. Nearly impossible to read. Also, my room was a double and the closet was tiny, not big enough to put even a carry on bag. I travelled alone so it wasn’t a problem but this room would have been very cramped with luggage for two people.
6,3 Good
Pros: The staff at breakfast were lovely. The food was good. Most of the staff throughout were lovely. The garden outside our room was beautiful.
Cons: Our room was a tiny dark room. One of the beds had to be slanted in order to close the door. The lighting was atrocious. The lamp beside the bed had to be unplugged (no switch) to turn on/off; this made it impossible to get up in the dark. The room was cold and dank.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. I don’t remember the name of one of the waiters at the restaurant, but he is an asset to the restaurant. I told him not to retire because the restaurant will never be the same: great service!
7,5 Good
Pros: The hotel is really nice with a lot of details and the dining room is very nice with the garden view!
Cons: I had problems with the comfort of the bed!
9,2 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast with few options.

Pros: The hotel Bulding
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Rustic wooden structure , furniture , antiques, chimneys for warming up, excellent food at the restaurant . Had the specula Locro soup and the grilled fresh trout . Delicious!
Cons: Hard to sleep at night do to high altitude (3,450 meters above sea level).
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great room with in floor heating. Beautiful location. Breakfast was outstanding.
Cons: There's not much to not like at Dos Chorreras.
5,4 Okay
Pros: The decor and lodge setting reminded us of Alaska. It was a potentially cozy setting if only a fire or two had been laid in any of the communal hearths.
Cons: Broken jacuzzi tub that would not hold water. No repair made after the first day and no offer to change rooms (we stayed two nights). The first night, we also had problems with hot water for the shower. We believe it was due to a neighboring room using their functioning jacuzzi tub and using all available hot water. The first day at breakfast, I was served coffee with sour milk. The second day at breakfast, the eggs were inedible. When asked upon leaving if we enjoyed our stay, we expressed our concerns and received a verbal apology.
6,3 Good
Pros: I love the friendly smiles and courteous staff They took time to hear and tend to us Whenever we came to counter They had excellent customer service The view from room was such a delight Water cascades, greenery trees, rocks, I loved it.. The rooms wood set up construction and chimney Were an excellent touch.
Cons: I loved the room But my family member and her spouse Were not told The bottom floor bed Was heated They couldn't sleep all night The were highly uncomfortable They were up all night Slept for one hour When they Rose My family member face was swollen And her husband was sweaty and hypertensive With bad headache. My whole concern here is why as PAYING GUESTS WE WERE NOT INFORMED THAT THE BOTTOM FLOOR BED WILL BE ON HEATING FIRE DURING THE NIGHT. My family member called desk all night At 12, 0100, 3am And none answered, or assisted us during this serious distress My family member was excited at arrival, but extremely disappointed at departure. please please and please, Let your next clients renting the loft That the bottom floor Is burning hot at night. Please be aware Thanks
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Almost everything
Cons: We couldn’t used the jacuzzi because the Water was too low
6,3 Good
Pros: Well kept grounds.
Cons: Well for starters the bathtub was not clean, the view from our room was of concrete roof and a work ladder placed right in front of window. The food and products are way overpriced, dont know how they stay in business, maybe from the fish farm. The free breakfast was a slap in the face, had to dish out more money for decent breakfast. I can not recommend anyone to stay at this place. The high cost 120.00 with view of a ladder with tax of course, however this is misleading because everything else cost way too much. The final bill is roughly 202.00. The service is lacking, not friendly at all. The front desk looks as if someone just shot their dog. We did have one nice waiter, a young man who was very attentive and nice. Also you will find a list of don'ts when you enter the room, such as, misplaced towels, missing glasses, or spot on the sheets you will be charged...are you kidding me. I recommend you stay somewhere else and visit cajas for the day. The place is beautiful but grossly mismanaged. It's a bad joke when it comes to value and price
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fine. Friendly staff, great food, and very appealing.
Cons: A couple things that were not comforting were the water temperature and the keeping the rooms warm.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hosteria Dos Chorreras feels like been in "Alice in Wonderland" Beautiful, well kept place with professionally, friendly and diverse staff. We stayed at a Bungalow and was amazing. Room was nicely decorated, well kept, clean, no mold smell and no noise from neighbors. Food was great as well. We ate at three different restaurants and food was excellent. Breakfast buffet was great, their natural juices are super good. Must try their famous empanadas de viento, they are big, but so good I ate two. The location is perfect if you want to explore El Cajas National Park. It is also very close to Cuenca, which is a beautiful city.
Cons: Hosteria Dos Chorreras is such a beautiful place but, be prepared for cold weather when going outside. It was raining and wet outside. Should improve parking area (should be paved).
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent, nestled on the side of the Cajas Mountains. You are literally in the clouds. Food, service and staff was excellent. An excellent mountain lodge while visiting Cuenca, Ecuador.
Cons: For me, nothing.

Pros: It was great to have a place we could prepare food if we wanted. Breakfast was delicious. The staff were very helpful.

Cons: Breakfast could be better.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Big comfortable beds, quiet Room facing the Garden, Very Good breakfast
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is beautiful, clean and is in he best location
Cons: Even the hotel has great... my experience with the staff is something that the hotel has to work on. The staff was very friendly with the foreigner guests, however as ecuadorian I had he same expectations, but it was not... when I requested the backyard bar to spend the afternoon after they say yes, they decided to close it for clean it and we couldn’t use it. During the breakfast time, the staff was very alert about foreigners needs, and they did not realize that we did not have cups and napkins in our table... and when I asked for it... they were very rude asking me my room number and days of stay. I felt discrimination to the ecuadorian guests, even we were a group of 7, and we paid the same price. Interestingly I live in the US, but at the time of the registration I used my address from Ecuador, without expecting that this could change my experience.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Its well situated in the historic center, walking distance from comercial and historic attractions, the staff was very welcoming and helpful, the room was nice and comfortable. the bathroom seem new and clean. It had nice inside garden for the kids to move a little and adults to seat. My family had a great time.
Cons: the room had tub in the middle, and my youngest (1 year old) insisted to get in and finally got all wet (also wanted to go up the stairs making me very nervous). (Though no trouble with my 3 year old)
6,7 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: The rooms are dated and feels old /tired
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful facility and loved the courtyard. Manuel, a bellhop, was very helpful and cheerful.
Cons: Breakfast could be improved-not very good hot food. Felt the hotel clerk was trying to guide us to places that were not that good (for meals)

Cons: All good.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful hotel located in the city center. Rooms are spacious & clean.
Cons: The breakfast could feature some more options. When arriving by car it should be clearly mentioned that the parking lot belonging to the hotel is located 3 blocks and 5 minutes walk away. Additionally, the parking lot address should be communicated before arrival as there are no parking opportunities at the hotel and only high-traffic one way roads in Cuenca centre. Knowing where we need to go in advance would have saved us half an hour.

Pros: Beautiful building, good breakfast included.

Cons: Difficulty paying by credit card at the hotel checkout. Noproblem using VISA IN THERESTAURANT.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Spacious rooms, good breakfast, friendly staff.
Cons: The bed wasn’t the most comfortable and was very creaky. The hostal attracts an older crowd so if you’re looking for young vibes this isn’t the place, but was very quiet.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and knowledgeable staff and delicious breakfasts in a beautifully maintained Spanish colonial mansion. In addition, Jose the driver recommended by the hotel, took us to Gualaceo and Chordeleg for a day trip and he was courteous and knowledgeable too. A memorable stay for sure!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Center of the city, free breakfast, clean and perfect
Cons: Walls are thin and you can hear everything, including traffic passing by at 3am
9,6 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was recommended by a friend who lived in Cuenca. It was very nice and seemed to cater to international guests. The staff spoke english and helped us to carry our bags up to the 2nd floor. The breakfast was very good (typical for the country, eggs to order with toast, fruit salad, fresh fruit juice, coffee, tea, yogurt, etc.) While we did not eat at the restaurant it came very highly recommended.
Cons: There was no air-conditioning in the room which would normally be fine in Cuenca, but the windows to the room opened up to the court yard/passageway so privacy while trying to cool the room down was limited.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: My room was right after the place they serve breakfast, so a little noisy when someone wanted to chat during the early coffee (but was cheaper, and I always take earplugs, not a real problem).
Cons: Beautiful building and very friendly staff. The location is just a few minutes from the main square. Nice room and comfortable bed.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Quaint and clean, staff was very helpful, great dinner recommendations!
9,6 Excellent
Cons: A little pricey, but a great place to stay.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The building is beautiful and everyone working there is very helpful. The Italian restaurant downstairs is top-notch and the breakfast is pretty good. The prices are very fair and the location is perfect for walking around the city, without being too noisy.
Cons: We stayed in two different rooms, and the one on the third floor had weak WiFi and didn't have much water pressure or hot water. It's hard to get up and down those stairs. Like most options in Cuenca, it's an old building, which provides loads of charm but not much privacy.

Pros: It’s a lovely old hotel with beautiful common areas to enjoy. The staff were very nice and helpful, and my room was spacious and comfortable.
Cons: My room though spacious was a little dark and the bath/shower had some issues - no bath taps so had to fill with shower which was a little tricky with the layout. Also, nearly slipped over in the bath/shower as the glass screen was set in place and so had to hop in the top end which was sloped. Had a lucky save as could’ve easily taken the glass screen down with me, which could’ve been disastrous. Hope they fix it as very dangerous.

Pros: Very nice
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is such a nice hotel and we enjoyed it so much.. would easily recommend to other travelers. The location is excellent, just a couple of blocks from everything - the new cathedral, Plaza San Francisco, Mercado diez Agosto, etc. The building itself is an old mansion and is simply beautiful... very grand and well decorated, the interior could be featured in Architectural Digest. Rooms are very large and we really appreciated the many seating areas throughout the first and second floors. It’s also very quiet, as all rooms are away from the street. Lastly, the staff is super lovely.. very responsive from the moment we made our booking, very caring throughout our stay, always ensuring everything is OK, and very nice and kind in every interaction (we especially appreciated the care from Andrea, who helped us from check-in to check-out) Great hotel and would easily recommend
Cons: Todo bien
8,3 Excellent
Pros: I had a good experience about the service, i was about to miss my flight and i called in reception and to prepare my bill. I had only half n hr for the flight. When i reached what i saw, was they were ready with the bill and luggage and all my belongings from my room. It was so kind of the staff and their service which helped in catching my flight fortunately. I was thinking of sharing this , as i was very happy after seeing their service Also they don't have AC in room, still its cool due to its wooden structure.
Cons: Bathrooms need to have more good facility. Elevators needed.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the ambience of the hotel, all the staff were great (they went out of their way to help), breakfast was yummy. Nothing we didn't like.
Cons: No parking immediately in front of hotel, but we didn't find it a problem.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The place is charming and well located. The staff was so friendly and helpful, it made our trip. Thanks to Andrea's, at the front desk, and Marcis, in the breakfast room. Much as gracias

Pros: The hotel is spotless and very comfortable, however the staff is the best asset to this hotel. Fantastic people and great customer service.
Cons: The just need a little work on the noise reduction for the wooden floors.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The friendly & helpful staff. Trying local dishes for breakfast. Free tea and coffee whenever you wanted - welcome after a day visiting. The decoration and layout of the inside of the hotel. The location in the centre of town. Leaving our bags after checkout wasn’t a problem.
Cons: Nothing at all!

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel in a great location. Very easy to walk around from that location. All the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Andrea was especially helpful in giving recommendations, making reservations, coordinating tours and just helping me out since my Spanish is very poor. Breakfast was good with nice variety of offerings. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to stay there again .

Pros: The breakfast was always varied & really well prepared. Staff could not have been more helpful, great people. Very professional & helpful.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was clean and staff were very friendly. Check-in and check-out process were very easy. Comparing to other hotels we had stayed, breakfast was average. It has a variety of items to satisfy everyone; the bread was the most memorable.
Cons: It's no really a dislike...more of a convenient. The hotel was a 10-15 min walk from center of town. Given our tight schedules, it would have been better if we were a bit closer to the hotel. However, the taxi rides were very reasonable. Note that the hotel is pretty basic with no other amenities (i.e. pool, gym, etc.), but we wouldn't have time to use it anyway. It may a consideration for those looking to relax.
6,3 Good
Pros: The staff were very friendly and the room was clean.
Cons: I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The room did not look like the online pictures. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. For the price, there are better options. Also, this hotel is not located in a safe area.

Pros: Location is fine in town centre and reception area is also very nice People were very collaboratives helping with luggages and assistance for "find" the parking
Cons: My room was .....2 courtyard ahead. Room too small, cold and without table Parking 4 block far away
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, nice staff, and perfect location for walking around old town.
Cons: A little noisy at times but not bad. Would stay here again.
7,1 Good
Pros: The property is beautiful and conveniently located to the historic Cuenca sites. The staff members were all very kind and helpful.
Cons: I can’t speak for other guests, but our room (B7) had a horribly warped, squeaky floor and a leaky, old, dirty looking shower that needed the tile cleaned or re-grouted. Additionally, there was building maintenance going on all constantly and it was very disruptive. We didn’t mind the painters, it was the loud heavy machinery early in the morning.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel has charm, common areas are gorgeous
Cons: There is no heating in the hotel, and double rooms can be very small (the first one we got barely had the bed and a narrow path to go to the bathroom). But we asked and got a bigger room
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located and easy to walk to many tourist attractions. Our room was spacious and comfortable and reasonably quiet, although we did find it rather warm. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times and the tapas were delicious. We absolutely loved the quirkiness and character of the hotel.
Cons: Room was rather stuffy as it only had windows onto an inner courtyard, bathroom could do with an update although it was clean and functional.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast, the staff, the location.
Cons: No hairdryer in the room, the floor rug had not been vacuumed, there was no floor heater made available, the Internet connection was very, very poor. A professional could not do business while there due to poor WiFi.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful period houses (3 connected make the hotel). Smart but little rooms and lovely breakfast in the courtyard. Friendly staff. Great location.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is physically beautiful and unique, reflecting traditional Ecuadorian style. Great location in the historic center.
Cons: Only complaint is that it takes hot water 5 to 10 minutes to reach my room in a far corner of the hotel. It’s a shame to waste so much water.
7,5 Good
Pros: Beautiful space, colonial with lots of light. Breakfast was included. Courteous and helpful staff.
Cons: Beds were very hard and tv did not function properly.

Pros: The hotel was in a perfect position in the heart of the old town . The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable . The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the buffet breakfast was delicious . The decor was fabulous , with quirky touches everywhere , and many comfortable seating areas . A delightful hotel and I would highly recommend it for a stay in this beautiful city .
7,9 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. Large room. Hot water
Cons: So much noise from a lift just next to the room 107. Hard to sleep
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great colonial hotel! Almost like a mini museum in parts. They have several great communal areas especially the tiny rooftop terrace. Breakfast was really well done and tasty.
Cons: The staff need to click a button to let you in and out and there’s not always someone manning the desk (though the come at a run when you ring the bell!)
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, friendly helpful staff. Room was spacious, clean and bed was comfortable. highly recommend.
6,3 Good
Cons: They started to do some building work at 7:30 a.m.!!!! Woke everyone up!!!!
5,8 Okay
Pros: The attention was kind and polite
Cons: The room was cold and dumb. It was also a little darker. The price was high for that type of hotel. The photos were misleading.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was so good and the receptionist is such a nice guy
Cons: There wasn't parking and I had to pay for another place to park my car.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: LOVED the staff! From the minute we arrived, they couldn’t have been more helpful—in so many ways. The hotel absolutely “shines” due to the staff.
Cons: There was some wallpaper pulled off the wall (see photo) that could easily be fixed with a corner strip ir extra glue. The Internet didn’t work well (which the hotel might not have had a direct responsibility for). Finally, my biggest grievance: out of 50+ cable tv channels (including movie channels) there was only ONE channel in English. No channels with English subtitles—and no news in English or with English subtitles. In a large expat destination city that Cuenca is, that really frustrated me. I would recommmend the management buy a different cable package.
6,3 Good
Pros: The staff was very friendly, nice and helpful..Also, its location is very convenient and walking distance to the city’s historic center.
Cons: We stayed at this hotel three nights. On our first day, The WiFi was not working in our room, it only worked in the hallway. The staff tried to solve the issue without success. A technician had to be called next day to fix the problem they were having. On the second day, the WiFi was working just fine, but then on the third day, we were having issues with it again. The bathroom is very uncomfortable and small. They do not change towels daily, which I’m ok with to conserve water, but the problem that we experienced was that any towels that were used in the morning remained damp all day since the bathroom had no sunlight nor ventilation for the towels to dry, so when we got back to the hotel in the evening, we had no dry towels. The breakfast was very simple and the same for the three days we were there. There was no variety of anything. We stayed in 5 different hotels throughout our trip in Ecuador, and I’m sad to say that this hotel was the worst one we stayed in. Very disappointing... I would definitely book the other hotels if we were to go back to Ecuador, except this one..... The only thing worth at this hotel is the staff...
