Pros: Beautiful, cozy hotel, very friendly staff, great room. Perfect location for business at Cambridge.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel, a former firehouse, has a beautiful feel. The very opposite of a cookie cutter chain hotel. The staff were very friendly, and the room was large and comfortable.
Cons: The location, in the center of Kendall Square, is difficult to park in. The hotel does have a small underground lot (which is great) but the fit is right. Despite a warning from front desk staff, we still managed to nick the front bumper...
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent and comfortable facilities, very good breakfast, friendly staff
10,0 Excellent
Pros: As an old firehouse, this hotel has great character and is a nice respite from typical chain hotels. The breakfast was excellent and afternoon wine was a nice touch. This hotel provides a wonderful experience for guests and is a very good value.

Cons: They called and cancelled room on me even though I was given a confirmation number - at 8:30 pm the night of check in! I had to try and find a room standing on the street corner - totally unacceptable.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the hospitality and the vibe of being home outside the home- they serve fresh cookies, offer you any drink free of charge, it is so different from the chain hotels. I would definitely come back. Special thanks to the receptionist Daina, (hope I spell it right) who was the best host one can dream of!
Cons: Everything was just perfect
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this hotel was perfect. The staff were wonderful. The location was great. Super close to a number of Universities and 15-20min drive into Boston city. Parking onsite and lots of food options, supermarkets and coffee places nearby. We loved this place because of the small kind gestures like the freshly baked cookies ready for guests every day at 3pm. Front desk offering to make us (complementary tea & coffee) The rooms were large but warm and cosy and at night time we were able to get a good night sleep as the area is quiet and beds were so comfortable. Next time I visit Boston we will 100% stay here again!

Cons: N/A
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This BandB was beautiful, well run, and quiet. The extra bonus was a beautiful outdoor sitting space with lush plantings.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Room was smelly, and breakfast was very awkward in they way they serve you.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful stay-!!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was a delightful addition to my stay. The afternoon "tea" was appreciated as well. The rooms as always are neat and clean, the staff exceptional. The location is perfect as it is very close to Mass Ave, mass transit, stores, Harvard and its attractions, and of course, family living nearby.
Cons: Disappointed in the problem with the TV which was never able to be resolved during my stay. I was able to do a phone vidio of the problem and shared it with several people after they had it inspected during the day and felt it was working fine. The problem occured in the evenings after I returned from my family visits, so the video was able to confirm that there WAS a problem. I wish a minor refund had been offered, as I spent from around 7-7:30 pm on in the room each night and would have liked to watch TV.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I'm not a breakfast eater so the issue wasn't important--I did eat a muffin which was delicious. The location of the B&B was great--easy to walk or take public transportation. The room was quiet and comfortable; the staff really friendly and helpful.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The inn is a perfect blend of an older property that has newer comforts. There were snacks and beverages in the lobby and a gracious host. The bed was so nice and the off-street parking was a welcome bonus. Walkable to everything you need and in a resedential setting made for a pleasant stay.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The whole staff was professional and helpful, especially Lisa, Kathleen, Christina, the waitress who served me my breakfast in my room and the housekeeper who took care of my room. I wish I had booked my return trip so that I could have had breakfast before checking out.
Cons: This is not a dislike but a full disclosure warning. I have problems with stairs Guests must know this ahead of time. However, I was able to manage my movements and stay mobile. I do not know if someone in wheelchair might have been able to do that.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable and charming B&B, with historic character but modern convenience. Highly recommended.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Quaint inn. Convenient location and free parking.
Cons: No space in room to work.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The Mary Prentiss Inn was even better than I expected! The pictures don't do it justice. It's absolutely charming and an easy walk from both Harvard Square and Porter Square. Plus, it has parking, which is huge in Cambridge!

Pros: Lovely, friendly and perfectly located between Harvard Square and Porter Square.

6,0 Good
Pros: the hotel was undergoing renovation when we were there
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Top of the line breakfast menu.
Cons: Some construction was a minor mostly cosmetic detraction
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent room, great amenities (bathroom mirror tv!), clean and comfortable
Cons: Lots of elevator noise in room 714. Also, about 1/2 hour of hammering/pounding on pipes or something at 7am.
9,2 Excellent
Cons: Cost of parking for hotel guests.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the location being so close to Harvard. The room was great and fell a notch above what I was expecting.
Cons: The pool was not part of the hotel but connected and therefore had weird restrictions on kids using the pool.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I had requested firm pillows and they were already in the room when we arrived. Great service!
Cons: Hot water in the shower didn’t get hot enough.
10,0 Excellent
Cons: The price is always so high.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent. The room was very nice and comfortable. Excellent farm to table restaurant and bar.
Cons: Although they had a parking garage, the elevator to the lobby was out of order so you had to take the stairs and the stairs lead to outside the front entrance. Very inconvenient if carrying any bags from the car and also because of sub-zero temps that weekend. Also no in and out access for self parking at $40 per night. If you leave you have to pay again.
2,0 Mediocre
Pros: Room service very fast, and extremely polite room service staff. Beleaguered front desk staff dealing with irate guests kept their patience. They need more support from mgmt. Restaurant is good; really good coffee in lobby in early a.m.
Cons: Multiple, extended power outages occurred; Hotel said due to construction, not their fault--yet construction was on their premises. Fire? alarm problems, PA messages = epic fail. Insufficient instruction to guests. Requested wakeup call--did not receive.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The bedding (down comforter, great pillows), and the air quality/climate control were outstanding. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed, and the bed was actually more comfortable than my bed and home (and I'm fussy). The pool was excellent.
Cons: No coffee maker in the room. Refrigerator packed with overpriced bar stuff. I was annoyed, but the NY Times outside the door in the morning put the smile back on my face.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great with excellent service and nice trait ants around in the plaza
10,0 Excellent
Pros: One great thing about Harvard Square is the high energy and bustle, especially when school is in session. What makes The Charles so perfect is that it is a tranquil respite right on the edge of all the happenings.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Being a small business owner, I truly appreciate genuine customer service. The staff were excellent & they really made the experience for us. It's the little things that count, even just smiles. One woman who I don't believe was even quite clocked in yet even directed us to the restroom before our check in and when she saw us in the hallway again she waved! Even when we first arrived we happened to be in the parking lot talking about Starbucks and the gentleman who happened to be working outside kindly noted that it was just across the street before we went off driving in the wrong direction. When I checked in, I didn't understand my billing and the woman that explained it to me wasn't rude or annoyed that I had asked. She just politely wrote down the charges, not announced them out loud, and then helped me understand them. I thought that was such a considerate thing to do as I'm sure it's a common question! I just love little things like that because human connection and remembering that we are all people is so important! It makes me want to come back to places because it makes me feel like the staff are being treated well enough to treat their guests well and I want to spend my money at places like that! The rooms were spotless. We were celebrating my teenager daughter's birthday and visiting from out of state. The suite we had was lovely & at the end of the hallway so we didn't disturb anyone. The breakfast selection was great and again the staff was so friendly at breakfast, offering to take our empty dishes as they were walking by, even if their hands were full. Every staff member, from the front desk to the housekeeping team, that walked by us smiled or said hello and that made us feel so welcome. Gym & pool area were also great and I loved the outside seating area too. Perfect for me to get a little work done. We picked this hotel because it wasn't far from Boston.

Cons: Traffic and only one king bed available near the elevator. No water bottles in room

Pros: I stayed here because the other Marriott in Kendall Square was fully booked. However, this is a short walk to MIT and across the bridge to Charles Street in the Back Bay in Boston and turned out to be convenient. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The price was great for this area.
Cons: The hotel was surrounded by construction, which made it noisy and difficult to get to. Even without the construction, the hotel is very near a highway and the Lechmere T station, so the location is only good based on its proximity to MIT and Boston, not its actual location.

Pros: The hotel was very accommodating for a early check-in. The bellhop was also accommodating and held onto my bags after check-out and before I needed to go to the airport. Overall, the staff were great and the hotel was adequate.
Cons: Although the bathrooms appeared to have been recently updated, I did not like the shower-head and the shower appeared to have been excluded from any renovations. The TV also randomly shut off on a few occasions and was a bit laggy.
6,0 Good
Pros: I loved the housekeeper on my floor, she was amazing!
Cons: The snobs at the front desk. They did not make me feel like a guest, a customer at best.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Super clean, nice comfy bed, very spacious and amazing view (if you get a higher floor room). Given that I paid $115 per night for this room, it was an amazing value. Staff was super nice and helpful and responsive, they gave free water which was huge. I felt like I was staying in true luxury when reality I was paying a bargain!
Cons: Only downside was location and some old shower facilities (no mold or rust or leaky stuff, it was just worn and old, you could tell there was a difference between the brand new sink and the old fashioned shower head that you could easily dislodge from the wall). I can kind of see why the price is so low, but honestly those were the only downsides, and they're not bad at all given what else you're getting for the price.

Pros: They had an excellent hot breakfast and even had gluten and dairy free muffins.
Cons: The room was a bit cramped. The bathroom was larger than it needed to be but the rest of the room was small.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Good staff and location
Cons: Room cleaning can be better. Also I have to narrate an incident, that really scared me. During one of the days, at the early hour in the morning, I got a call to my room number (I have no clue how it passed through the front office) , saying that they are from hotel management, and they would like to inform that the network is down and they have to collect my details including credit card as there is an audit. Also because of the inconvenience of calling at 4am they would provide me a discount of 35%. Luckily I did not provide any information.

Cons: I could hear: - planes or trains (cause windows are not ideally sealed); - neighbors talks or TV; - how water runs inside tubes at a shower time; - safe is only at the desk and small (forget about laptop or DSLR). I really thinks that's bad. And I forgot about the delivered package, so I got notation on the 3rd day only.

Pros: The location, and it was pretty clean, with big rooms with a coffee maker and refrigerator. Staff was nice.
Cons: Complete heater cover completely fell off when I was trying to adjust the heat. Refrig was pretty noisy. Bed was a little saggy where most people sleep, so probably time to replace. Wasn't horrible though. I would probably give 3 stars max.

Pros: Clean comfortable room. Motel has a restaurant attached. Good breakfast although unless you go for the option that includes breakfast it is 15 dollars per person which is excessive for what is on offer.
Cons: Motel difficult to find. Phoned for directions prior to stay and spoke to an unhelpful member of staff who gave me the wrong exit no from I 95. We had to ask locals three times before we found the motel. There was an ice storm and we had just driven from Logan airport at eight in the evening so not great. We are from the UK and did not have a cell phone. Motel needs to have decent directions on their website. It isn’t just off the freeway but in a shopping centrr

Pros: There is nothing not to like about this hotel. This was my third stay here, and I will use it whenever I am back in town. The hotel is in a perfect location for any needed travel in the area as it is right off of Interstate 95, and in very close proximity to shopping and restaurants as well as another Interstate (93). I ate in the sports bar attached to the hotel a couple of times and it was very very good pub style food. I used the breakfast buffet for my entire stay. (I made sure to include the buffet in my choise of rooms) It was outstanding both from a quality and variety standpoint. I did not use the pool this trip, but it has a nice one. The fitness center is very adequate so you don't fall completely off your workout regimen while away from home.
Cons: Honestly, nothing comes to mind. The hotel had everything I needed +, and nothing that I didn't need.

Pros: cleanliness and fine exercise room, equipment and comfortable pool. Bedding was superb and very comfortable room accommodations.

Pros: Location, decor, staff. Would haven given close to 10 in all categories were it not for the tiny size of the room.
Cons: My room as so small that it literally did not have a chair in it, not to mention a desk. Just a hassock crammed under the window sill crammed between the bed and the window next to a something like a coffee table with a TV on it.

Pros: Location to Harvard was perfect. Beds and pillows were wonderful.

Pros: The hotel is very cute and very well run. In the lobby, they offer free coffee, tea, juice and water. I had to switch rooms, and they were very accommodating.

Pros: room was very clean, bathroom and shower were great. I loved the balcony. Check in/out was quick and simple. Hotel staff was very nice and accommodating.

Pros: The hotel is conveniently located to Harvard. Great location. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and I appreciated the complimentary coffee, tea, juice, etc. The staff was very polite and helpful.
Cons: Unfortunately, I didn't know the subway ran right below the hotel on Mass Ave. This was pretty loud and interrupted sleep. I stayed on the first floor facing Mass Ave so a room on an upper floor near the rear of the hotel probably would have been better.
