Pros: This centuries old Norman Manor House has undergone a major modernisation over several years under the careful eye of the new and charming owners. Everyhing has been done in exceptionally good taste with an exquisite attention to detail. It's is comfortable living in old surroundings with all that could be wished for in a modern world. The extensive and mature garden is being planted on a theme of flora from the world's different continents; a plan that will flourish in years to come in the areas mild climate. The whole is within a few minutes drive from the centre of Cherbourg with it's wide choice of good restaurants. With a delicious breakfast included you cannot ask for anything more.

Pros: Quite superb in every way possible. Immaculate property. Decent WIFI. Bed and linen could have been new. Wonderful host who could not have done more to make my stay better. Perfect bathroom. And a breakfast to die for. Please don't tell too many people about this absolute gem of a property.
Cons: Nothing. Loved every moment of my stay and will definitely be back.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is an elegant old stone building located in a peaceful quiet setting among trees and a grassy field. The periphery of the property was lined with several other original stone buildings, including a barn. The property is about a 10 minute drive outside Cherbourg so a taxi or an Uber is needed if you don't have a car. The owner graciously offered to drive us back to town the next morning. Every detail was thought through. The whole property was in perfect condition and was beautifully decorated. The room was large. The bathroom was nearly as big as the bedroom and appeared to have been recently and tastefully remodeled. The stay included breakfast with fresh fruit, crepes, various beads, hard boiled eggs, yogurts, etc.
Cons: The hotel was perfect, but taxis and Ubers were a bit sparse in Cherbourg so it was a bit of a challenge getting to the hotel (we did not have a car on this trip).
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Stunning manor house. Excellent hosts. Great room. Great breakfast

10,0 Excellent
Pros: A 2 minute drive from the ferry, right in the centre of town next to the beautiful medieval city of Cherbourg, Hotel Napoleon was perfect for my young family. We had two rooms in one suite, one with a double bed and one with twin beds. Simple, clean, unfussy facilities. Safe windows. Staff communicated with us very clearly, in English, both before we arrived and when we were there, offering advice about places to see, eat and play. For the price we could not have been more delighted.
Cons: Tea/coffee making facilities would have been great, but there are so many cafes very nearby it really didn't matter.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Not far from the ferry but close to the town. Staff were great.
Cons: Too noisy at night
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely owners, very helpful and accommodating when ferry was delayed. Great location for town and ferry. Bars, music and food in the area are great. Good parking. Nice breakfast

Pros: The location of the hotel Napoleon is very good. It is on sweet square Place de la République. One side of the square is open to the bay. Behind Napoleon Statue you will find port for yachts. There is church also very close to the Place de la République. Please go in and look on frescoes inside. Walking on the Rue Tour Carrée (left hand once you walk out of the hotel) you will find some cafe and restaurants. Finally you will get to the old city.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is in a quiet residential neighborhood within walking distance of some nice restaurants. There are also some markets and bakeries close by. The hotel is very quaint and homey. The hosts made us feel welcome from the moment we got there. The hotel has a cheery breakfast room as well as a small sitting room with frig and coffee maker that guests can use. Breakfasts were generous: coffee, juice, pastries, bread, cheese, organic eggs and home-made yogurt. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. This was our favorite hotel during our trip to France. We were very comfortable there and would stay there again if we ever go back.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was within easy reach of the ferry terminal, about half a mile away, so my mum and I could walk there and back with our suitcases. The staff were very welcoming and encouraged us to speak French which was lovely! Also they were able to practice their English with us! The paintings which decorated the rooms were fab and our female host said her dad was the artist, compliments to him! The continental breakfast of croissants, bread, fruit and coffee was tasty and set us up well for the day. On our last day, we were able to leave our suitcases at the hotel, which meant we were able to explore more easily before our evening ferry departure!
Cons: It would have been more convenient to be a little closer to town but there were plenty of restaurants and main shops about a half mile away.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very friendly and helpful, storing our bikes and giving some good advice on where to go for the evening. The location was 10 minutes walk from the old town.

Pros: Very helpful friendly staff. Good location for the Ferry Port. Continental Breakfast is extra but you get loads.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Please note that this 2 star hotel needn’t be judged by first looks or the fact it’s only 2 star... Close to the Cherbourg port, literally 3 or 4 mins drive.....close to restaurants and bars, clean and tidy, breakfast was a French one, baguette, cheese, ham, yogurts, croissant and coffee plus juices and nuts and fruit to choose from as well as cereals...lovely helpful staff, secure garage to use for £6 a night off road and enclosed with locked garage doors!!! Handy as we had a Vw transporter from camping!! Helpful knowledgeable staff to guide us to visit the area, citi de la mer was definitely a great option to visit the submarine, story of the titanic and a great aquarium!! £60 for all day was great value with restaurant and snack bar within the premises...plentiful hot water for a bath/shower and nice towels.
Cons: Nothing really, a bit dated but really did not affect our stay...
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel close to the centre. Hotel owner couldn't have been more helpful or nice. Lovely spacious room with bath/sower ensuite. very clean and comfortable. Whilst there is some traffic noise in the day (we are in a city), at night it is quiet enough. You have to have the windows closed at night = but in the summer, have them open in the day with shutters down to keep the room cool, should be ok at night to have windows closed as it is an airy room with high ceilings. like a lot of hotels, this now has laminate floors - this means that you hear people clattering around in the room above. I prefer carpets as they help with sound insulation - but I know some people prefer laminate as it is easier to clean - swings and roundabouts. I was lucky that other guests seemed to go to bed at a reasonable hour, so was able to get a good night's sleep with the noise of their moving around stopping at a reasonable hour. Very considerate guests all round so people were not making a row and thoughtful of others. Saw some reviews complained of noise from people in the street making a racket - but this did not happen when i was there. The location is good and generally a quiet street near the church. All in all it was the perfect mini break. Hotel in excellent location for shops, harbour, restaurants. Staff excellent. Had been there before and would definitely use again.
Cons: Nothing. It is an old building and the floor boards very squeaky in parts - managed to avoid when late at night to avoid disturbing other guests.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here for one night before our ferry departure. Grand little spot. 2mins walk from the quayside where there was a selection of restaurants. We had a family room right behind reception on the ground floor which was great. Comfortable, clean with all facilities and well presented. Plenty of space for our family of 5
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location for overnight stay and the most helpful and accomodating person in charge of all our stops during a month in France. Spotlessly clean.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Bed was extremely comfortable. Shutters completely blocked traffic noise so quiet once dark.
Cons: Hadn't realised there was no lift and as I wanted a bath my room on third floor. Stairs not steep. Bath good but as I have a mobility problem found I couldn't turn over to get out. Neither was a non slip mat provided so improvised with dry towel.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: A bit apprehensive as the hotel didn't look as nice as the photo and there was a huge skip outside, however the manager was friendly and helpful enough to allay these fears.
Cons: flowers outside like in the photo
4,6 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: It was under construction, very dated, old and completely false advertising . Disgraceful. My 3 children were so scared sleeping there. I would actually nearly request a full refund as it was so bad, unhygienic, very dirty and you could not go to the toilet without having the door open as it so small and no window. Most frightening experience I have ever experienced in my life.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A very friendly welcome to the hotel. The host was very helpful and looked after us well. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Cons: No negatives.
8,8 Excellent

Cons: The bathroom and toilet and some of the decor were a little tired and could do with updating.
6,3 Good
Pros: Lovely shower comfortable beds.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Traditional french hotel, comfortable and clean. Very friendly and helpful owner
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The manager was charming. The room was beautiful and the linen immaculate.
Cons: We were on the top floor up 70 steps which was OK for us with a small overnight bag, but would have been difficult with babies/pushchairs etc.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is having some work completed on the roof so initially I was not sure what to expect due to this, however we were greeted by a really nice gentleman who explained what was happening and gave us a map of the area to explore, we were placed on the top floor a family room which gave us everything we needed, the shower was spot on and the view across the city from the sky lights which we kept open overnight due to the heat was lovely, we had a continental breakfast which we were not charged for due to the inconvenience, we had a walk into the centre in the evening for a meal and it was quite lively with plenty of restaurants and bars, this was an overnight stop going back to the UK so gave us what we needed for the price.
Cons: N/A
7,5 Good
Pros: Well refurbished rooms in an old building.
Cons: Steep stairs and our two rooms were on different floors
7,0 Good

3,3 Mediocre
Pros: ok for one night

Pros: Clean nice decor very comfortable. Good evening dinner. Accommodate dogs so great when travelling down to Spain. Would stay again.
Cons: Breakfast could have been better it was not celiac friendly They did get bread but it was not sealed so could have been stored incorrectly.
7,9 Good
Pros: The size of the room was more than adequate, especially the bathroom. Wooden floors were good.
Cons: Did not like that you could not open the window wider because it was locked and there did not seem to be a key in the room. Bathroom needed a cabinet to be able to leave your bits and pieces that are required in a bathroom.
6,0 Good
Pros: Nice buffet breakfast, friendly staff.
Cons: We booked dinner in advance, which includes 2 courses of a specific menu to chose. From this menu, there were NO vegetarian options, which I think is not acceptable in 2019. I had to order a la carte which was much more expensive. Then, this meal was some raw vegetables with no seasoning (half an onion, half a cucumber, half a fennel, with some cooked lentils. thats it. 15 eur!?
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Proximity to ferry port
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We booked into this hotel for our last night in France before getting the ferry back to Ireland from Cherbourg. This is a lovely hotel, spotlessly clean, lovely comfy bed, the only trouble was the distance from the centre of town, but as we were only going to stay one night this was not a problem. The hotel surpassed all my expectations and I would highly recommend to anyone who is just staying a night or two. Really excellent place. This is the best value hotel I have ever stayed in.
Cons: Too far from town centre is the only negative about this hotel, otherwise perfect. Could not fault anything else about this fantastic hotel.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was easy to find and the staff were friendly. The hotel is older and a bit run down, but very clean. Breakfast was well stocked.
Cons: Wifi was weak on the top floor, it could use a wifi booster.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The location is great! Great value!
Cons: Parking is hard to find. The bed was a bit hard.
7,1 Good
Pros: Very helpful staff, obviously recently redecorated room, comfortable bed. I appreciated the lighting effects but would rather have had the money spent on a better door!
Cons: A couple of long dark hairs prominently displayed in the bathroom, stupidly small basin with a shelf right above it so you can't really avoid getting toothpaste on the floor, and - worst of all - terrible windows and a big gap under the door. In terms of noise, it was like sleeping outdoors, and it must be chilly in the winter - or use a lot of energy unnecessarily.
6,3 Good
Pros: Staff friendly and welcoming
Cons: No lift, and no offer of assistance with bags.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: No
10,0 Excellent

7,9 Good
Pros: Staff were very nice. Specifically the lady who was the responsable/manager. She told us where to find parking. And she borrowed us her phone charger for the night. The beds were comfortable. Room was clean, could do with modernisation but it was clean and comfortable so that was the most important. They had even set up a baby bed and changing table top for us in room so that was very nice of them. Location is great. right in city centre and less than 10 mins away that the ferry terminal. It was perfect for us for our overnight stay.
Cons: Parking Its on street parking and there isn't much on the hotel street. We had to go to park on another parking. It wasn't that far but we had a baby and small kids so parking on site would have been a bonus
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast & location
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Charming hotel, very helpful and nice staff that made the stay in Cherbourg very nice for us. For example, we got early breakfast in order to be able to have "petit déjeuner" before taking the ferry, beside other help.

Pros: Location
Cons: No tea making facilities
8,3 Excellent
Pros: I found it to be a very peaceful place to stay and right in the heart of things
Cons: It would’ve been good if there was a holder for the shower
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Old style... Not a chain. Privately owned ? Older building. Extremely well positioned in Cherbourg, very close to the (inner?) Harbour. The owner is a very pleasant older lady, not much English, but I have very limited French ! So that's not a criticism ! Continental breakfast at extra charge. Many cafe bars and restaurants nearby, good food at reasonable prices, and nice staff. A relaxed area, delightful
Cons: Hotel a little tired. This didn't bother me at all, but some people may not see past that to the charm that I personally liked
4,6 Okay
Pros: The location of the hotel is excellent..An old lady runs it alone, talkative and sweet.
Cons: I'm gonna be very honest here..the sweet old lady runs the hotel alone so don't expect much..the hotel is dark, old, smells cats and dogs (2 dogs and 1 cat live in). Needs to be renovated..no shampoo only a small soap and shower gel! No tissues only toilet paper, hair drier is useless, the room was incredibly old and spooky. And since she is the only one working there, i did not feel very safe knowing that there wont be security 24 hours i mean..i would not stay there
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Comfy bed, spacious double room, quiet, friendly landlady, left luggage possible.
Cons: Hand held shower spray only, no holder. Limited check in hours although these were kindly extended due to travel delays!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great location and nice helpful lady on reception.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great restaurant very close was fabulous The Melting Pot
7,9 Good
Pros: Reception staff very helpful about storing our bicycles. Very hand for Brittany Ferry, restaurants and shops. Our room had tea and coffee facilities but not all rooms had this. I would stay here again if visiting Cherbourg.
Cons: Hotel did not open until after 5pm. Rooms a bit tried looking.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Causy and quiet hotel with spacious rooms close to the city center. Very nice owner running the hotel. Please remember that french breakfasts are not standard european ;)
9,2 Excellent
Pros: It was very central to shops, restaurants, bar and the wharf. Room was very comfortable and French brekki was included.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: This was a stop over but it was very enjoyable. The apartment was spotless and had excellent communal areas for everyone to enjoy. Contact with the staff was good, any question was answered completely and fast. I would definitely recommend them.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The location is amazing! So convenient. So clean! No carpet but that is part of why the unit was SO CLEAN & FRESH. The nearby Trinite Car Park is free after 7pm and it was free all weekend as we stayed over the Whit holiday. We liked the freedom of the key pad entry. Lots of restaurants nearby plus the Cherbourg Yacht Club that welcomes visitors. We loved the ringing of the Notre Dame Cathedral bells on Sunday morning. We had a lovely view of Cherbourg's inner harbour from all 3 windows in our apartment (we had 2 rooms & kitchenette).
Cons: There is no lift or hotel luggage staff so we had to carry our luggage & sundries like wine & nibbles up 3 floors (6 flights) of stairs! We are in our early 70's so that was a bit of a challenge, but also a reminder to redouble our walking & exercise efforts! Having our 19 year old daughter with us also helped! This is a SMALL grumble given the many other important positives about this hotel.
6,7 Good
Pros: Location worked well.
Cons: Very small for 4 of us. Expecially the shower. Just very cramped. For 2 it'd be OK though.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: The building has 7 flights of stairs with no lift, it is not disabled friendly, don't know what would happen if their was a fire, didn't see any smoke alarms, escape route, as we were on the top floor, the apartment is not suited for 4 adults, two at the most. If you are booking find out what floor you are on first, wouldn't book again.
4,6 Okay
Pros: Convient location.
Cons: Didn't see any staff. The bed for the children was a pull out bed, which was fine, but there was a table and chair in the way. We had to move it in front of the door to unfold the bed. The bathroom was awful. Very tiny, just like a bathroom you have on a ferry! Quite ridiculous. Was not convinced the pillows for the pull out bed were clean.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Check in was obviously easy. Room was clean and functional.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The response from the staff on my questions was prompt and very kind
6,7 Good
Pros: The location is superb , near the centre and with parking right outside. There is a great bar down the road but the road isn't noisy. Regular clean laundry - towels etc and the place is spotless. The central heating system is brilliant in the bedroom but didn't work in the kitchen. The kitchen extractor fan didn't work nor did the toilet extractor fan.
Cons: The apartment is very small and the kitchen tiny. Two of us struggled to fit in it and 4 would have been impossible. The cooking facilities The central heating system is brilliant in the bedroom but didn't work in the kitchen. The kitchen extractor fan didn't work nor did the toilet extractor fan. s are basic [ stove top and microwave] - no oven. The bathroom module is small and basic.
4,6 Okay
Pros: The Location
Cons: Climbing 6 flights of stairs to the room, no lift, fire hazzard waiting to happen, sleeping on the top floor with no means of escape other than going back down 6 flight of stairs, glad to leave.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great position, excellent and prompt phone service to access room. Quiet street and building, Clean and tidy.

3,8 Mediocre
Cons: Too much noise in the evening with people knocking on doors and talking out loud in the corridor No tables available for breakfast as too many people were having breakfast so had to have on a sofa No plates available so had to ask. Very disappointed When I told the receptionist, she confirmed that the hotel was full (a cyclist group was staying) and that many other people had complained too. It felt there was not enough staff to deal with the demand.
5,8 Okay
Pros: The beds were comfortable.
Cons: We phoned ahead and were assured that late arrival was ok. Then a change of shift and attitude. It’s closed. And the phone going dead. We had to call back twice to gain access. The room was ok except for insect bites in one of them. We suspect bed bugs. It’s a budget hotel but we nearly had to spend the night in the car. We arrived before the latest advertised access time of midnight. Not great.
6,3 Good
Pros: Tidy room
Cons: Rank smell in the place
7,9 Good
Pros: We needed a mid-priced place to stay for the night, after a ferry trip from the UK. This hotel was in a quiet area, so we had a good night’s sleep. It was clean and comfortable.
Cons: It is in a very quiet area which means there isn’t much choice for restaurants. That said, it suited us for what we needed.
3,8 Mediocre
Cons: Tiny shabby bedroom, no window and too expensive for what it is, we never ever going back again
8,3 Excellent
Pros: easy access to ferry port . quiet and parking on site. For a god restaurant would recommend creperie de la mer just a few minutes down the street past the petrol station on the right, super food good portions at realistic prices , friendly bar next door to it that's open until 7.30 .
Cons: Was a little hard to find in the busy Sat afternoon traffic . (easier next morning on way out . )
6,3 Good
Pros: Location good - central, with parking.
Cons: Lack of communication from staff re. attempted payments from my card. ST I L L awaiting an explanation from The Louvre Group who own Kyriad hotels !
9,6 Excellent
Pros: I liked the way the ground floor rooms opened up to the outside so I could step out for fresh air and to pack my motorcycle for travel without going through reception. Friendly staff
Cons: I only had decaf sachets coffee in the room,I could of asked but I’m extremely lazy at times
8,3 Excellent
Pros: booked as an emergency due to car issues hotel exceeded expectations. Staff really nice overall very clean
Cons: The room was clean and beds comfortable but visible mould on ceiling around shower to much not to notice
4,6 Okay
Pros: Neat grounds. Bright and fresh dining room. Price is only ok. I'd rather pay more and get better.
Cons: Dark, depressing room with a tiny window overlooked by a block of flats. Brown, worn carpet. Room and bathroom needed a professional clean. Foyer was locked at 7pm. No instructions who or how to contact anyone. No where to sit or get a drink. Absolute joke of a so called breakfast. So called coffee boiling away. 2 small slices of ham anus is €10 per head on the room price!!! Not a nice place. This is a place to arrive late, sleep and go early.

Pros: Location
Cons: 170 euro for a 50 euro room , Dirty , boiling hot as in the roof space, Mould around bathroom noisy as backed onto 40 flats . Will not be returning.
4,5 Okay
Pros: The Hotel was in a great location surrounded by many ports and restaurants.
Cons: We were greeted by an extremely rude lady who when asked if there was a room ( in French btw) was told no and had the door slammed in his face. I had made a booking on the app and was told several times there were no rooms available eventually she looked at the PC and saw our booking and grudgingly booked us in.. Her attitude was appalling and quite upsetting actually.. No water in the room and breakfast was disgusting, packaged Croissants the type you get from a supermarket and the ham was clearly old. I would have expected something good for 11 Euro each. All in all not a good experience, such a shame.
4,0 Okay
Pros: Location opposite the fishing harbour
Cons: Room was very basic, quite small, no safe, no in-room tea or coffee. No staff were in the hotel after the restaurant closed.
6,3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Room was a bit basic in terms of comfort & bathroom facilities.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Location to crossing
Cons: Small bathroom and closes service early to European eating
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect and the food in the dinning room was superb. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It is an old hotel, but facilities such as bathrooms and shower were very good.
Cons: Really need two chairs in a bedroom that is for two persons. Otherwise, one person is always sitting on the bed and that is not comfortable.
6,3 Good
Pros: Location and the staff.
Cons: We were on the 4th floor, with no elevator. The wifi was non-existent during our stay. The staff apologized profusely, but we still lacked wifi. Additionally, the soap and shampoo were never updated during our stay.
5,8 Okay
Pros: It’s convenience and location
Cons: Very expensive for a 3 star establishment
6,7 Good
Pros: Comfy bed
Cons: Asked for an evening drink and was turned away and told to order from our room
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location being close to the port of Cherbourg was great. The restaurant was good too - but we felt a bit hurried, we sort of thought that the staff like to finish service not much after 9pm

Cons: Nothing
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a 10 minute drive from the ferry. We stayed for one night in a family room. Parking should be arranged beforehand, there is only a limited number of parking places in the hotel; there is however a public parking some 150m from the hotel. Some cafés and bistros nearby, the harbour is a 10-15 minute walk. Good place to stay when passing through.

Pros: We had a very good welcome. We were able to prebook secure parking which was excellent as we had bike rack with 4 bikes. Very close to restaurants . Very clean and comfortable room convenient to Ferry terminal.
Cons: Lots of noise through night from revellers coming out of nearby nightclubs /pubs. Despite 2x windows and shutters still had disturbed night. Probably worse due to stay being on a Saturday night. Not sure what hotel can do about this.
6,7 Good
Cons: Street on the strip of night clubs drunk people outside loud all night. No sleep :(
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This was truly an exceptional stay. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and there was very secure parking for my motorbike at a nominal fee. The public areas and lift seemed at first glance a little aged and in need of a lick of paint. But looks can be deceivi g and the rooms were exceptional, clean, modern, comfortable and outstanding value. I would never stay anywhere else in Cherbourg.
Cons: Nothing

Cons: Nothing, it was a very good hotel

Pros: Receptionist was kind enough to come and let us in when we called for assistance -
