My scheduled pick up time was for 12 noon on 10/2/21. Arrived at 11:58 am and the worker walked out the door at 11:59 am and told the three of us who were scheduled to pick up vehicles that she had an appointment. Left us all hanging. Stranded in Buffalo without a car for three days. Beyond miserable experience.

Sketchy rental site. Cars are beat up. They attempted to give me a vehicle that wreaked of cigarettes. They take the customer surveys for you, as evidenced when they emailed me pictures of the cars. Go elsewhere.

When I arrived in Buffalo, I was informed that the Hertz Kayak made arrangements with was the Hertz at 4195 Gennese not 4200. Both show as at the airport. In was told they couldn’t help me and I would have to call back. I took a taxi to my hotel and did so in the morning. No answer. So I tried the app (Hertz). Customer service there was also slow to answer and ineffective. When I attempted to modify my reservation, to account for the lost day, and arrange for a car, Hertz increased my rate by 100%. I will NEVER be use them again, and am considering a complaint to the FTC.

I arrived on the first day of vehicle reservation shortly after 4PM. There was a vary long line at the Hertz counter and only two people working that Friday. By the time I got to the counter, it was after 5PM and there were still 50+ people in line. The counter worker informed me that my vehicle was in the yard across the street which closed at 5PM. He indicated that they were to busy to go get it and I'd have to come back the following day. The counter worker immediately called the next person in line. When I came back on Saturday, a manager informed me that my reservation was for Friday and they no longer had the vehicle I reserved and paid in full.

Staff was ill trained Car was dirty Waited over an hour for staff to get it together Had to walk 1/2 mile with bags and cross a 5 lane rd to get to the rental center Hertz just lost me as a customer

We reserved a car in Hertz, Buffalo airport, NY online and paid for it approx. a week ahead. We were supposed to pickup our rental at 5:30 pm. Hertz was closed; it changed its business hours closing at 5 pm. One of the employees, who was still there was disrespectful, rude, refused to provide her name. We saw plenty of cars in this Hertz' parking lot. The other Hertz, that was still open, refused to help us even though there were also plenty of cars available. We were stranded thousands of miles away from home. I called corporate tel.number and I was told "sorry you can cancel and we'll refund A PART of your payment". It was a super horrible experience! The worst customer service I experienced in 40 years I've been traveling all over the world.👎

Walking a football field across the street from the airport terminal to the Hertz place on Genesee Ave saved us about $200 on a 5 day car rental....and would've saved us about $275 if I'd been quicker in deciding. I actually rented a cargo van online, but didn't need it and they were great about swapping it out for a car when I arrived. I am always amazed at how expensive it is to rent a car in Buffalo.
