Château de La Pomarède - Castelnaudary - Bedroom

8,9 Excellent (60 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in La Pomarede, Château de La Pomarède is in the historical district, within a 15-minute drive of Church of St. Felix and Saint-Ferreol Basin. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Located in mediaeval chateau in rural location. We booked a top price room, which turned out to be in an annex in the village below the chateau & we were terribly disappointed. The helpful chef/co-owner (the only staff member around at 5pm) quickly changed us to a lovely room within the chateau (luckily there was one other room left), though this might have proved difficult if you don’t speak any French! This is a family run hotel, so they all need time off & I’m more than happy to practice my French. Otherwise, don’t turn up before 5.30pm without pre-arranging. Very good dinner & excellent local wine included in price
Cons: A slight delay in agreeing next morning that we had been moved to a cheaper room & only after I showed price difference on booking.com. I don’t think the most expensive was best - just my own opinion. They could explain where the rooms are located
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quite place to stay during vacations. Our room was located in the building adjacent to chateau, with good swimming pool in the backyard. All living spaces are renovated using contemporary design ideas. The room was comfortable (we stayed 4 days) and spacious. Dinners in Chateau were very tasty. And thanks to Katie , she was very responsive. And we got accustomed down the line, for the bells ringing:)
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The welcome; the peace and quiet; the bed room comfort; the lovely dining room; the breakfasts; the dinners; the easy access to towns around; but especially the welcome.
Cons: The bathroom - short of convenient wall towel hangers and shelf space; hot water needed patience; no safety handles for in-bath shower
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very good. Offered eggs if wanted.
Cons: Matting in bedroom was slightly uncomfortable to walk on and a bit like a hayfield. Room quite small but very clean.

7,9 Good
Pros: Cleanliness of room and all areas, friendly and efficient staff, extremely quiet location, excellent quality-to-price ratio.
Cons: Hotel next to the highway exit, therefore excellent location for a stop-over (like it was my case), but perhaps less interesting for those wanting to visit or hanging around in Castelnaudary. There is only a fairly good restaurant next dorr, and nothing else around.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: This is a budget hotel yet offers very comfortable, clean accommodation with everything you need. Every member of staff we met were really helpful. The room was spacious with the vanity unit and shower in the room but the glass was frosted and the layout such that you had privacy. The breakfast was very good with a great choice of artisan breads, some pastries, variety of yoghurts, jams, cereals, cheeses, fruit and ham. Plus fruit salad. A variety of hot drinks and cold fruit juices. There was also a free machine where you could make a drink any time of the day. They were happy for you to bring in a take-away to eat either in the dining room or in the outside dining space. The car was in a secure park which was locked at night and the staff have surveillance 24 hours.
Cons: There was nothing we did not like.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Good location
Cons: No wifi in the room
7,5 Good
Pros: The room was good.
Cons: We ate in the hotel’s restaurant. This was a mistake. The fish is not fresh; frozen. My husband spent the night being sick after his meal. We would not stay nor eat here again.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Didn't try either dinner or breakfast. Good location.
Cons: The previous occupant of the bed in room 103 was in all probability Dumbo the elephant as the depression on the window side was huge, I mean HUGE. A new mattress is definitely required. French plumbing has always been, shall we say, interesting and the shower room in this case was no exception. Basin tap unusual in the cartridge setting but the piece de resistance was the shower tray which was like standing on a half filled water bed, did the plombier forget the supports? Very disconcerting. Water came out from under the shower screen onto the floor but in truth that's their problem not mine.
7,5 Good
Pros: Comfortabllpe. Beds0
Cons: No shower curtain or screen. Very slow restaurant service.
