Pros:The car was nice to drive and overall clean but did have a masked smoke smell to it.Cons:The person at budget, in the airport on the 25th of March when we picked it up was horribly rude. We were 30 min late and pretty much told us we were out of luck that there was no car for us. We went to all the counters very scared as to be stranded and apparently was transfered to avis who were very friendly. When we got the car man from budget who was rude actually flipped us off because we pointed him out to the person dropping us off. Horrific customer service on the budget sideReviewed Mar 29 2021

Pros:Convenient pick up location.Cons:Cars were dirty. Enhanced cleaning? How about any? First car we picked up had mechanical issues was not drivable. Spent 25 minutes cleaning and disinfecting it. Had to return to get a different vehicle. No other car was available in the class, got a much smaller car with no modern amenities for the 6 hour drive. Spent another 25 minutes cleaning the car. No apology, no discount. Bad service, gross vehicles. -Reviewed Feb 8 2021

Pros:Check in took longer than expected but check out was very efficient. Super happy to have gotten a sunroof.Cons:The extreme extra charge to drop off at another location almost prevented using the rental at all vs other options. Also we were given a car low on wiper washer fluid.Reviewed Jul 2 2020

Santa Maria BudgetPros:Rental unit (minivan) was near-new. Rode smoothly and quietly and accelerated well. Good fuel economy. Suited our purpose perfectly. Staff in the office were friendly and helpful. Check-in at the end was quick. We would rent from this location again.Cons:Check-out took a bit more time than we anticipated as the office did not have the rental unit onsite. A staff member went to the airport and picked it up in a timely fashion.Reviewed Feb 16 2018

Poor serviceCons:Called in advance to see if I could pick the car up a couple hours early. Was told the car was ready. Three hours later I arrive and the car wasn't ready. My card wasn't working, so I had to go to the bank to transfer money around to a different bank. I asked the woman how long she would hold the rental for. She said an hour. I said I would go down the street to the bank and be back in twenty minutes. I come back and she is gone. In the end I was limited on time so I had to rent from a different counter/company.Reviewed Jul 29 2017

Car CampingPros:A few thousand miles and plenty of sleep in the back seat. Was perfect size for me considering I'm a kinda short. A nice tent on wheels. Worked out great for a couple of weeks.Cons:When the windows fogged up and No tinted windows, that was the difficult part.Reviewed Jul 15 2017

Polite Picking up and dropping off was pretty good.Cons:My son has asthma and the smell of smoke was horrible. We opened the window, turned the air, bought deodorants and nothing helped.
