Cons: It was difficult to access the hotel in the evening. The road was not well lit to see street sight.
6,0 Good
Pros: The room was clean. Beds were comfortable. Employees were kind and accommodating. We basically needed a convenient place to stay for the Thanksgiving holiday that included breakfast and this was a good choice for that.
Cons: No in room safe—one had to be brought in. Room location was noisy—faced a loud go-cart race track. Not enough seating in the breakfast area leaves people staring at you for your table and with so many people it was very loud first thing in the morning.

Pros: Facility is very clean and staff was very kind. Rooms are big and have small fridge, iron, hair dryers and even a coffee maker. More then expected with the price I paid.
Cons: Parking spaces are very small. If you arrive here late most people are double parked due to small spaces.

Pros: The staff was very nice. The historic feel was good.
Cons: The hotel is a bit tattered. Little details that could be easily addressed were left. The room could use a bit of paint. The drapes need to be replaced. The small things are very noticeable and make you feel like the place is not well cared for.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The Historic Santa Maria Inn is a cute and fascinating place to stay, especially if your interested in the Golden Age of Hollywood. We stayed in “Cary Grants,” room that overlooks the swimming pool, rose gardens and a little fountain. The room was clean and similar to most small 1930’s hotel rooms. We loved the restaurant in the lobby and enjoyed their breakfast buffet (kids 5 and under eat free). At night, we enjoyed cocktails from their English Pub. It was neat exploring the vast lobby, looking at Historic photos and standing in an old phone booth. The Historic Santa Maria Inn is a great stop to breakup a CA drive, we will return in the future.
Cons: We did not see towels by the hot tub, so we had to bring out our hotel bath towels instead.

They close the pool and hot tub during this time of year. Too bad.

Cons: We changed room once because the room was dirty, there was a lot of hair on the bathroom floor, there were no towels, and the bed was filled with long hair. We had to make the beds in the second room, and requested new bed sheets because they ones placed were covered with short black hair. The staff was not helpful.

Pros: OMG!!! This is a Motel 6 --- it is not the Hilton --- so I was expecting, you know, Motel 6. Well! The room was immaculate in every way. The following morning it was restored to its original immaculate condition by Maricela, the best housekeeper I've ever had in a motel. I checked in with Heather, who explained where everything was, gave me exactly the kind of room I wanted, led me through the utterly simple payment process, and later, when I was in my room, called me to see if I needed or wanted anything. The next day when I came into the lobby she greeted me by name and remembered my room number. I felt very special; I felt like I mattered to the motel. The room was quiet, comfortable, and attractively decorated. I had everything I needed. I slept well. The coffee in the lobby both mornings was excellent. I have been going to Santa Maria for 17 years now to visit my grandchildren, staying in hotels and motels for 10 of those years. I did stay at this particular Motel 6 some 8 or 9 years ago and did not enjoy the experience. Since then I've stayed at several places in Santa Maria, including the Holiday Inn, Candlewood, Fairfield, the Rose Motel, and various others whose names I don't remember. This stay in this Motel 6 is the best lodging experience I've had in Santa Maria in the last 17 years. I know, I know, it seems incredible, but seriously, this is where I will stay from now on. There is no similarity between Now and this place 8 or 9 years ago. Whatever happened, it was a very positive thing. When I talked to the people I was visiting they were all surprised I stayed at Motel 6, and they were blown away that I felt so positive about it. This was a 100% excellent experience.
Cons: I seriously don't think anything could have been better. I mean, if I'd had a full suite with a massage expert and a sauna and free meals with champagne brought to me on demand, sure. But no where does that unless you pay $1,000 per night. In the world of reality, this was great.

Pros: Extremely not good .
Cons: Horrible . Everything .

Pros: Love that it doesn't have carpeting. It looks cleaner than most hotels.
Cons: Well, it is a double edged sword. No carpeting means there is more noise from the upstairs room. But, I would always take a non carpeted from now on. Cleaner.
5,1 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Room is filthy. Floor is sticky, burnt cigarette holes in mattress and sheets. Hair all over the beds. Gross.

Cons: The room was shabby. It was extremely overpriced considering the condition of the room.

Pros: I really liked the fast friendly check in service .the man that helped me really went above for me
Cons: I didn't like the stains on the top sheet of the bed. I didn't like the patched holes in the walls And very dirty or should I say bad base boards that are all chiped.and made it look real dirty. And the water pressure in the shower was horrible. Not evenough strong enough to rinse shampoo out of your hair. . 167.00.was a huge rip off ...very unacceptable. I normally stay at the other motel 6 on the other side of town But the last few times.I have booked there .when you show up there. They are very rude and the room you requested is no longer available and they want to put u in something different ...so we tried this location. ..I will say the service from the man at check in was amazing .it is not his fault the rooms.are very run down and need a paint job and. Work .it is fine though. We come to santa.maria.monthly and have always stayed motel 6 .but I believe this was our last stay .do to the fact they are very expensive for a VERY run down room ...ohhh and the TV stopped working at 9pm just one more run down item ...

Pros: Parking lot is well lighted and monitored by CCTV
Cons: Walls are paper thin you can hear every word from the adjacent and upper rooms. I also noticed some suspicious characters sitting in the cars parked in the lot at 12midnite. In the room above, shady people come and go even at 2am.

Pros: Location. Right off of the freeway
Cons: Language barrier with staff. Room wasn't clean. Loose toilet, wobbled. Hair on floor that didn't belong to us. Broken lock on door between rooms. Had to move rooms. Trash surrounding property. Horrible dump

Pros: Nothing. It was a room, we stayed as we had no other option. Decided never to stay in Motel 6 again. There was a mini refrigerator and microwave in the room. No coffee though.
Cons: 1. The room smelled horribly of the cleaning supplies when we entered. We had to leave the door and windows opened for 30mins to even breathe in there. Other guests had the same issue. The host told us that all room smell that way. 2. The bedsheets were dirty, as if they forgot to change it when the previous guest checked out. We had to request new set of sheets. 3. The bathroom and floor was not clean. There were hair all over the place. 4. They only provide a bar of soap in the name of toiletries.

Cons: The room needs more attention or detail on cleaning.

Pros: The price and location.
Cons: The room was just that, a room with a bed. Laminated wood floor with plain walls. I expected a little more for the $---- I paid.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The motel was exceptionally clean, near the freeway, and the price was right.
Cons: I had to leave $150 deposit in case my dog did any damage to the room. We left rage room very clean, but it will take 2-3 days to get my money back.

Pros: The hotel was in a perfect location and was pretty comfortable. Decent breakfast too I felt.

Pros: Full size pillows!!!!

Pros: The hotel was close to the freeway for easy access but not so close that the guests would have to put up with the noise. The room was a good size and though there were some minor repairs nearby it stopped at a reasonable hour so overall the stay was quiet.
Cons: The room should have been aired out to give a fresh clean smell.

Pros: It was convenient for visiting a friend that lives in the Central Coast area
Cons: Yes! We had a bad experience with this hotel. When finishing a shower my friend was unable to turn off the water, the shower would not stop, we tried for 15 minutes to try to turn it off, we called the front desk stating that our shower was messed up and would like to get another room. The front desk proceded to send up someone to try for an additional 15-20 minutes to shut off the water, no such luck. We then had to wait another 20 minutes and 2 phone calls to the front desk to finally get someone to tell us that we could come down and get a key to another room, we then had to pack up all our stuff and move. After complaining to the front desk we still were not offered one of our nights free or even a discount. I wont stay there again!

Cons: It's outdated and the carpet looks unclean. The second day they did not clean the shower. Expensive for what it is.

Pros: Very near Hy101, yet it was quiet. Staff was kind and attentive.
Cons: It was difficult to access the hotel in the evening. The road was not well lit to see street sight.

Pros: The room I stayed in had plenty of furniture. Besides the king sized bed there was a coffee table, two chairs, and a big lounge chair. The bathroom was divided by this half wall thing which was like a mini hallway with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker. Overall, was not what I expected for such a great price at last minute on a Saturday night. It went above and beyond.
Cons: I have nothing bad to say about it.

Pros: The bed was super comfy. The heating worked great. There was an automatic light in bathroom. It was clean. The hotel employee who checked us in was very nice.
Cons: The room overall just seemed a little dingy. I tried to figure out why, but maybe it was just the color scheme. I also didn't like the parking in the back, with no security to the rooms and courtyard area. There were definitely some people who seemed a little sketchy wandering around. They close the pool and hot tub during this time of year. Too bad.
