Gave me a car that immediately gave a notice of urgent need for an oil change, which is already a big inconvenience. However, when I stopped by the closest Budget location, they said I didn’t need to change vehicles because the oil change wasn’t as urgent as it stated. I was taking a 100+ mile trip and would’ve preferred to not worry about a potential problem on my ride. The car made it fine, but the customer service experience was not idea — especially not after paying a very high rental price of $130 for 24 hours.Reviewed Feb 8 2026

We waited in line for pickup for over an hour, having reserved and paid for our rental in advance. If we hadn't already paid, we would have never waited in that line and would have gone with a different company (perhaps the one without a line). BUDGET= excruciating line. Terrible. The rental was pre-paid, but Budget wouldn't rent without doing a credit check for the deposit. I have no problem paying a deposit and told them that, but I've had my credit frozen for two years due to fraud from a large data-leak. They refused to rent me the car without the credit check so I was stuck at the airport at midnight having to find anyplace open to rent me a car. The car I received smelled very strongly of marijuana and the service engine soon light came on after driving about 10 miles. Because it had been driven off the lot, I could not get my money back and was told I couldn’t extend my reservation to make up for the time lost going back to the store to exchange the car.Reviewed Feb 5 2026
