Terrible experience...car had a slow leak in one of the tires, the car was given to me without a full tank, in good-faith, i brought it back with a full tank and mentioned it to the girl helping me...she just made excuses and asked if I took a picture...not my job...so instead of taking me at my word, she said the "guys" always fill it up...so I'm a liar. Then she said we would just have to agree to disagree. Not ok, I'll be requesting a refund from my credit card as no one from budget has even responded to my first review. Agree to disagree? wrong answer and arrogant. Never will i rent from Budget in Roseville again. She should be fired.Reviewed Feb 16 2026

One week after returning the vehicle, I am still waiting for Budget to refund a $200 security deposit, which it imposed because I used a debit card. What’s the justification for that delay? Pickup was fine other than the fact that I rented a Cadillac and was given a Chrysler minivan. The return location at New Haven’s Union Station had no markings whatsoever. There is no way to know where to return the vehicle. I literally had to park the vehicle on the street and run inside the RR station to try to find the Budget office. In fact, there is no signage INSIDE, either. As it turns out, Budget & Avis share an office, with only an Avis sign. But my primary issue is, when am I going to get my security deposit back?Reviewed Feb 15 2026

I picked up the car at a local store which was excellent, but the experience returning at the airport was terrible. The GPS directions took me to where you store your cars, not the return area for customers. Getting out of that location and trying to get to the proper area was a nightmare.Reviewed Feb 15 2026

The car was great. The price was great. Drop off was smooth. BUT… we waited almost 3 hours after we landed to get our car, the one we reserved months in advance. 3 hours?!? I find that completely unacceptable and unnecessary. I have given feedback to Budget in St. Thomas, Budget corporate and QEEQ, however they fit into this. I’m not sure how you make this right, but QEEQ offered us a $20 coupon. My time is worth $7.33/hour?? Had it been the other way around, they would have rented the car to someone else. I’m sure I’ve rented a hundred cars over the years and this experience was the worst because of that. I don’t see me using Budget or Kayak again. It’s one thing to have a rough time, but the response to make it right has been completely underwhelming.Reviewed Feb 15 2026

The experience was brutal, extremely disorganized, and disrespectful to both customers and employees. I arrived early for my pickup and found a line so long that it extended outside the office . There were only two employees working, and the process was very slow. Customers were being yelled at , and the manager was outside cleaning cars instead of helping move the line. The temperature was around -25°C with the wind chill. I waited in line for 2 hours and didn’t even reach the middle of the line. My feet were so cold that I was no longer able to stand, and I had to leave without a car . There was no proper system in place , no communication, and no concern for customer safety given the extreme weather. I also tried to contact customer service about this situation and was unable to get any help. Because of that, I have opened a dispute with American Express regarding this booking. I have photos documenting the line, the conditions, and the situation at the rental office, and I’m happy to provide them upon request.Reviewed Feb 12 2026
