Budget refused to honor my rental of a small SUV, saying it was simply an economy class car and that it was kayaks fault for indicating the type of cars listed were small suvs. They told me they were “upgrading” me to a Toyota Corolla but it absolutely was a down grade and the car was as basic and underwhelming as they come. I asked to see the manager. I showed my small SUV reservation. He too said it was an economy class reservation and refused to answer whether they had my reserved type of suv in the lot. Also refused to give a different suv. He then with a straight face offered me a minivan. They were disparaging. They tried to upsell prepaid tolls and demanded to know who my insurance provider is when I declined additional coverage. It was the worst rental car experience I’ve had.Reviewed Feb 4 2026

When I arrived in PSP the line to pick up the car was enormous. I waited in line for 30 minutes and it didn’t move. I didn’t have the time to waste on this, decided I couldn’t wait and left. Unacceptable. Took an uber instead.Reviewed Feb 3 2026

Despite reservation to pick up in Dunedin, upon arrival from Uber ride was told there were no cars available and to call customer service. Customer service notified me that there was a car available instead in Clearwater. Schedule another Uber ride from Dunedin to Clearwater and upon arrival in Clearwater was told there were no cars immediately available, and they would have to get one ready. To the credit of the gentleman who assisted me in Clearwater, he was very helpful and got a vehicle ready as quickly as he could. once I receive the car, everything was fine, but the pickup process was quite a hassle requiring an additional unexpected Uber ride.Reviewed Feb 3 2026

The facility and the lady I dealt with was less than professional. The employee spent more time talking to another person than to taking care of the customers. They never inspected the car that I took, and it was dirty. Someone had actually just dropped it off and it was not serviced or taken care of before they put me in it. She handed me the keys and pointed to the car. Never again!!!!!!Reviewed Feb 2 2026
