They would not honor the type of car that I reserved. I reserved a compact SUV, I had the reservation confirmation printed out, I even prepaid; they would not honor it. They said I could only get a subcompact economy electric car because I reserved through a third party. They would not honor my reservation as a compact SUV without "upgrading". Very disappointing, I have had issues with the PIE location in the past. I think in the future I will avoid Budget/Avis when booking for that location.Reviewed Jan 23 2026

Pick up process was ridiculous. I'm not exaggerating--standing outside (not in any type of building or cover) for 56 minutes while they tried to figure out rentals for myself and 7 other customers. Ended up just giving me a size up, was not cleaned well, didn't have record of what fuel level was at, and staff spoke all of 3 words to me. I saw the poor reviews at this location and figured, how bad can it be? Yes I got my vehicle and it worked fine, but the entire pick up and drop off experience was horrible and I do not plan to rent from this brand at this airport again.Reviewed Apr 29 2025

The lady at the front counter at pick up was horrible. She lied to me several times and tried to force me to upgrade cars, get a toll pass, and add insurance. I told her I did not need any of those things. She got very upset that I would not upgrade and slammed to contract down on the counter. She also told me I had to have a toll pass as the Florida Keys have tolls all through them. I told her they do not have any tolls as I have been down there many of times. She told me I was wrong and she will make sure I get find each day I drive without a toll pass. She was horrible and absolutely deserves to lose her job. I don't like how Budget tries to sell or add "basic" or "premium" insurance to plans even after customers try to pick up cars. The reality is that many people's personal car insurance covers them and will likely be involved even if someone purchases your supplemental plans. Budget is misleading customers who don't know that they can decline more easily than they can and still be adequately covered.Reviewed Mar 12 2025
