Price was good (booked through a 3rd party, not directly) and ended up with a free upgrade. Downside was I was double billed for the rental portion. Waited a week to see if they would realize I paid the rental portion through the 3rd party, but didn’t. I was able to get the amount refunded, but obviously there is a disconnect between the 3rd party agent and the rental company. The past few years with the spiraling cost of living, I have become quite negative and assume this was another situation where one of them was hoping I don’t look at my credit card statement and they come out with a win. But that’s where I am now and you can’t tell me they weren’t able to match up my payment to third party with the reservation that was booked. Terrible. Had to wait in a huge line for over 1 hour after a long flight. Only two clerks were available, and at one point there was only one clerk. Everyone in the block long line was angry, stressed and complaining. The other car companies next to us were well staffed and had no lines. Then when I finally got my car it was low on gas. Pickup lines at RSW are 1 to 1.5 hours; minivan itself had very loud passenger door squeak when opening/closing (like it previously had cheap bodywork). Return at RSW was so full I had to leave minivan in a parked "traffic jam" just outside the rental garage, because nobody was moving the cars forwards or directing us to alternate area.Reviewed Mar 25 2026

My rental agreement at sign up said, “A Kia Soul or Similar.” When I arrived at Avis, they compelled me to take an EV or be up charged for a gasoline vehicle. This proved difficult since I was taking a long trip to Charlotte, NC from Savannah, GA. I was three hours late to my class because I could not find a suitable charging station. Keeping the charge on the vehicle proved a challenge to say the least. They didn’t even provide a power cord for charging at home.Reviewed Mar 24 2026

Upon reading Google reviews of the Avis in my area I canceled my reservation and called Enterprise directly. They were a little more expensive but they had the car ready and there was no nonsense. I will know in the future book direct from them and not risk not having a vehicle ready and waiting hours arguing with employees who shouldn’t be employed but can’t be fired because there is no one to replace them who wants to take a job with horrible payReviewed Mar 23 2026

I tried to cancel my reservation less than 24 hour's after booking and I was told I booked a non refundable car. They have very strict policies and would not refund me for the car.
