Pros: Second visit as enjoyed it so much the first time. Same second time round.
Cons: Sadly there was no dinner as the chef was off following an accident. But there are so many restaurants to select it didn't matter.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We were travelling around the area and booked one night here so we could tour the town. After seeing the place, we wished we had spent more time here. An amazing place to stay and would be a great base to explore the area.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I booked a night at La Villa Marzin as a 24 hour grown-up getaway, leaving the kids with their grandparents as we looked forward to some peace and quiet, interspersed with some nice meals and a bit of local history. From the website, it looked as if the hotel offered beautiful, spacious bedrooms and public rooms, with a lovely grassed courtyard and terrace outside, as well as a pool, gym, and spa. A nice oasis inside the walled town of Aigues Mortes. The staff were attentive and helpful as soon as we had booked, sending an immediate email to apologise for the hotel restaurant being closed due to the chef being on holiday, but recommending some other local options and offering to book a table for us. There was a hand-written welcome note and local gift in our room on arrival and, despite the heat of August, our Prestige room was quiet, cool and comfortable with bathrobes and slippers, ample white fluffy towels and Clarins toiletries all combining to provide a genuine sense of luxury. The walled town itself is small but had plenty to keep us entertained for our short visit, with a bustling town square with restaurants, ice cream parlours and coffee shops - a great location for a very pleasant late lunch, before wandering around the narrow streets of local shops and boutiques. The restaurant that the hotel recommended and booked for us, Le Patio Ne, was excellent and fairly inexpensive (€41 for three delicious courses). Equally importantly after the meal and a few drinks, it was only a 5 minute stroll back to the hotel where we had a quiet nightcap before turning in. Despite our best intentions to get up and walk the Ramparts early the following morning, we slept late so headed straight down to breakfast in the courtyard. This was simple but delicious, with fresh pastries, breads, meats and cheeses, alongside some cooked options, all accompanied by great coffee and a selection of freshly squeezed fruit juices.
Cons: Nothing - loved it all.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The air of tranquility, lovely dining on the terrace and the cuisine. It would be very cosy in winter too with the indoor/outdoor pool.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location. A very luxurious hotel within the city walls of Aigues-Mortes. Great courtyard garden with a rather large swimming pool. Parking facilities with direct access from the hotel. All in all a wonderful hotel in every way. Unfortunately, we did not try the very nice looking hotel restaurant where dinner is served both inside and outside in the courtyard.
Cons: Nothing really.
7,1 Good

Cons: Poor WiFi.

Pros: We stayed in Room #14...a large suite...very comfortable...excellent A/C (it was hot in Agui Morte!)...the extra $$ you pay for downstairs parking was definitely worth it as parking is very difficult in the town
Cons: Quite expensive for a 4 star hotel especially when breakfast was not included
10,0 Excellent

Oceania Montpellier - Montpellier - Bar

8,9 Excellent (2 285 reviews)
R2 038+
Overview Reviews
"This character hotel, ideally located in the centre of Montpellier just 2 minutes walk from the Place de la Comdie and and 50 m from the Gare St Roch tram stop, is discovering a new lease of life. We reopened the 26th of December 2016.After a year of extensive work, rediscover the 4-star Oceania Le Mtropole hotel since 26th December. The hotel successfully blends charm with modernity, with a light touch of exoticism, in the spirit of the great Belle Epoque luxury establishments. Behind its majestic faade, the hotel boasts a brand new area devoted to well-being with a hammam, fitness room, massage and a range of treatments, and the relaxation extends through to the Jacuzzi and swimming pool, bordered by the gardens palm trees, providing welcome shade for the terrace. From the hotels entrance and lobby, through the cosy English bar and La Closerie restaurant, not forgetting the prestigious lounges, the decoration has been completely restyled to restore all the venues former panache and character. The high ceilings, frescoes featuring romantic cherubs and prestigious parquet flooring have all been totally renovated to re-establish all the prestige of this magnificent 4-star hotel located right in the heart of Montpellier. Light is everywhere from the broad glass roof of the restaurant to the majestic stairway in the lobby, perfectly showcased by a magnificent and elegant suspension that floats in the air. As you wander the corridors, escaped budgerigars from the high glass roof are perched along the walls, inviting guests to continue their visit to our 96 rooms and suits. The decoration is personalised for each type of room, paying tribute to the different times of day: the warmth of the southern sunshine, a subtle blend of oranges and purples evoking a stunning late afternoon, or the enveloping gentleness of midnight blue and copper of the setting sun. Pros: The location was fantastic, you’re a stones throw away from the main square, with an abundance of amazing restaurants and bars on your doorstep. The room was clean, quiet and reasonably equipped. The pool was a decent size, and well kept. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Although they state they have parking, it is very limited - make sure you call up and reserve. It is also quite tricky to find on GPS due to Montpellier’s many one way systems. I expected more facilities in our room, it was lacking teas coffees etc.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: What’s not to like? Very comfortable bed, ice cold air con, separate toilet to bathroom, wonderful shower, very nice public areas and swimming pool.
Cons: No kettle in room so had to try to make tea using the coffee machine.

Cons: Nothing
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant hotel in an ideal location to explore Montpellier. Staff were very efficient and our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable.
Cons: We were informed on booking that we could not reserve a car parking space but this seemed to be over-observed, as when we arrived there appeared to be some reluctance even then to guarantee us a space, despite us being temporarily parked v close. Whilst we were given instructions as to how to get to the car park, it would have been preferable to have been issued some simple written instructions (in English) as to how to get past the pedestrian bollards and then enter the car park entrance.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: We were given a very warm welcome. The hotel is located directly on the beach. There is also a Beach Club that belongs to the hotel where you can rent sunbeds and have a drink or something to eat. Beautifully designed. The hotel room was not so big but clean and we had a balcony with sea view. The breakfast was great. Fresh fruit, cheese, sausage, jams, yoghurt, muesli, coffee, tea and baguette. Very tasty. The dinner in this hotel is absolutely recommended. Great kitchen chef, who puts a lot of effort into putting something great on the plate. Top quality, fresh and regional products. Especially the seafood was absolutely delicious. We felt very welcome and if you needed something you could contact the reception.

Pros: Great view. Delicious food. Responsive staff. Hotel has a private parking nearby.
Cons: The rooms could have been more comfortable if they were slightly bigger.

Pros: The staff were very friendly. I can speak a little bit of French. Some staff could speak more English than others but combined we were able to communicate well. The place was clean, tidy and well decorated. The bed was firm but comfortable. I have a bad back and didn't wake up in any pain. I asked for extra pillows and was easily accommodated. I am also a vegan. I advised the hotel of this and was prepared some lovely, tasty, well presented food, which was not a problem at all for the chef.
Cons: Not having a kettle and tea cups in my room. That is literally the only thing!

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent property with a huge garden and lots of things to do. Nice, refreshing swimming pool (actually deep enough to be enjoyed); very nicely furnished rooms. Received a welcome glass of wine upon arrival, and a cup of coffee in the morning although we had not booked any breakfast and had brought our own (dietary reasons). Excellent hosts willing to share information and to help
Cons: There was nothing to not like
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are amazingly welcoming. They make every effort to make you feel at home, without being too present. We had dinner one night with our 2 kids (7 and 4). It was homemade, delicious, healthy... and they even made something different for the kids! Breakfast was great as well, with different specialties almost every morning in addition to the traditional croissants and bread. Accommodations were great! We had the suite, which has a parental bedroom with a very, very, comfortable bed. The children had their separate bedroom (also part of the suite), with single beds, a desk and a side table with many french children books for them to read. There is a massive (and I do mean massive) dressing room with many cupboards, and this is adjacent to a very nice bathroom with shower. It was very quiet, very clean and very well decorated. The pool has a "family "size, and is surrounded with comfortable chairs. Lovely relaxing place with trees and flowers with vibrant colors. The owner has Syrian origins and it shows in the design of the property. Lovely mix of cultures. It is also very well located, although you do need a car to get around. Aigues mortes is about 10 minutes away, L'espiguette 20-25 minutes away and Camargue 30 minutes away. All in very easy roads. There are supermarkets 10 minutes away, as well. I can't find anything negative to say about this property ... except maybe for the mosquitoes that are brutal! (but they can't do anything about that, can they!). Will definitively return.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful stay, very comfortable room and bed. It was like staying with Family.... Breakfast was on order...lots of homemade goodies. We had a delightful visit.
10,0 Excellent

4,0 Okay
Pros: The location in Augues Mortes
Cons: Carrying luggage 2 floors up a stone spiral staircase. Standard small rooms you’d get in an Ibis. No tea/coffee making facilities. Staff glum and unhelpful.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location was superb! Couldn’t have been better. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was kept clean and had a very comfortable bed. We also had a private terrace accessible through a door from our room. Enjoyed relaxing there before going out for an evening meal. Aircon was reliable and effective. Essential with superb weather we had during our visit. The bathroom and shower were fine.
Cons: The room was small and didn’t provide enough storage for guests like ourselves who were there for a week. Safe was very small. Toilet was clean but tiny. Getting in and out for somebody tall like myself was an exercise especially in the middle of the night! Breakfast which we had on one morning was very nice but expensive! 15€ a head. Within 50 metres of the hotel breakfast could be had for less than 15€ for two. Enough when you’ve been out for a meal the previous evening.

Boutique Hotel Baudon de Mauny - Montpellier - Bedroom

Overview Reviews
This centuries-old townhouse in the heart of Montpellier somehow condenses the palatial dimensions of a country château into a five-bedroom city-centre boutique hotel. Spread over two floors, Baudon de Mauny's sprawling bedrooms couple period features and ornate 18th-century plasterwork with Cole & Son wallpapers, swish modern furniture and a cutting-edge sense of style.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully restored, lovely architecture.
Cons: Nothing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Magical athmosphere - old beatiful aristhoratic rooms with modern designer pieces. Experience!
Cons: I liked everything
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The property is absolutely beautiful. It is a historical building in the old city and the suite we stayed at was just breathtaking and incredibly roomy. The common areas are also gorgeous & since the hotel isn’t crowded with only a couple rooms, you feel like you have the whole house to yourself. Attention to detail in the decor makes you feel like you’re stepping back in time.
Cons: There is no room service or restaurant other than a very simple breakfast on request. The property is more like an Airbnb with a concierge service (which didn’t bother us because it is one of the most beautiful properties in Montpellier) but for the price we would have preferred those added services. No lift (which is to be expected from a historical building) but good to be aware of beforehand.

Pros: Great gardens, very good breakfast for France.
Cons: Bathroom a bit basic

Pros: Beautiful garden, excellent breakfast and swimming pool bonus.
Cons: Rang twice to explain would be 10mins late after check in closed at 20:00 and manager adamant that he would be closed at 20:00. This caused us worry as we had paid for the room and didn’t have anywhere else to stay. Luckily we arrived only 10 mins after 20:00 and he was very welcoming but it did worry us!!

We arrived at 7.30pm so we found a quaint square within walking distance where there were a number of bars and restaurants and a nice atmosphere , a guy playing guitar and sat under an awning and had a beer and wine and ate a tasty meal just people watching and relaxing - we were greeted at breakfast by another very friendly lady and a comprehensive breakast to set us up for our onward journey , I just wish we could have stayed longer and thoroughly recommened this hotel for location , ambience and delightful and welcoming staff !!

Pros: The breakfast was good.
Cons: The hotel stuff promised me a courtyard side room, so I’ve chosen this hotel. Yet reception lady gave me a street-side Standard Double Room and she claimed that she had no other free room available. In ten minutes she gave other guests a courtyard side Standard Double Room. I'd shown her my reservation of Superior Double Room (with Balcony) and asked to call a director. After that she gave me a Superior Double Room (with Balcony), a street-side anyway. So, I’ve been hearing the cars and people all night.
7,9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was fine. Location was also convenient, although in a quiet area it is only a short walk into the old town of Montpellier. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean.
Cons: Nothing in particular not liked.

Pros: Location, staff and breakfast was top notch
Cons: No easy access to drop of luggage. Very confusing to get to the door.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location is unbeatable Very clean rooms Booked a triple room and it was great to have a single bed in a room that was a bit separate. Good use of space Aircon worked very well Spacious bathroom
Cons: Rooms are dark - better lights or diffirent decor would go a long way
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice design of the rooms, great location, superb view and historic building.
Cons: Renovations touched only rooms itself, hope soon common areas will be also restored. Because they looks a lil tired. The bad thing is that when a arrived no one even tried to help me with my bags. I never need it, but intention is important. As well that part of reception staff are not much welcome...
7,5 Good
Pros: Good location just on the main square with bars and restaurants a plenty. The staff were very nice and accommodating. We parked in the place de la comedie which is under the main square (take the road leading underground) this worked really well. Car was fine there all night. A short walk to the hotel.
Cons: The bed was really uncomfortable - rather lumpy - pillows were also really really soft - your face kind of disappears!! Not the end of the world and we didn’t bother asking for a different pillow.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed before most years. Staff, location, rooms and breakfast options are excellent. Very high standard décor and air con is quiet. Convenient parking in Place de Comedie
Cons: Nothing - everything was excellent
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Characterful and well run hotel. Efficient and effective services. Good value bar with very good charcuterie and wines.
Cons: Shower: in reality a hand held shower which in a hotel of this standard is not satisfactory.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: It’s the fourth time for us at this central hotel in Montpellier. We like the position and the atmosphere.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, staff were friendly, brilliant location amongst all the action, great little coffee machine in the roof. Rooms very different in decor to the average hotel room, very spacious with high stud ceilings. Comfy beds.
Cons: Pillows were too soft and they didn’t offer any firmer ones. Ended up with a bad neck.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel accommodation is very elegantly appointed including the bar and linked brasserie. Location is fantastic for an old city and Antigone tour. Water and coffee in the room was much appreciated. Helpful staff, including services personnel.
Cons: Not an issue, but clearer directions for close proximity car parking is recommended.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location is great for nearby parking facilities and also the station and the old town.
Cons: Rooms need to be modernised a little.

Pros: The centralized location gives easy access to all tourist attractions. 2 tram lines right besides the hotel. Air conditioning works very well. Room facilities are new. Friendly reception staff.
Cons: When there is a tram passing by, you can feel the vibration of the ground somehow, just a minor issue, as it does not impact night sleep. The cleaness of the room could be improved.

It offers air-conditioned accommodation with en-suite facilities and TVs. Guests of the Hotel Les Templiers can enjoy a continental breakfast every morning. There is also a bar and a garden. Paid public parking can be found nearby.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Nice friendly atmosphere. Very helpful staff. The hotel location is perfect for the town and things to see/do.
Cons: The shower/bath could do with a curtain. Parking is outside the city walls which means that these charges can build up - the nearest parking is very close to the hotel, but over Euro 30 a day. Maybe a discount could be arranged with the authorities? (There is free parking, but it is less close and inconvenient especially when arriving/leaving.)
7,9 Good
Cons: The pool access is hopeless as they have doubled their rear garden as a restaurant that other people run, so it's not easy to go for a swim when there are people being served. There are no recliners or comfortable chairs. They should explain this when they advertise. It was extremely hot and the air con was inadequate
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Superb position Great ambiance Place with charme
9,6 Excellent
Cons: Beware the week and weekends when they are running bulls through the town. Parking is possible and the town is packed with heavy drinkers. Music until 2 or 3 am and people urinating in the streets. Very medieval! The bull running is not very impressive either so I thoroughly recommend you check her this is happening and avoid it like the plague! Hotel is really lovely though and super friendly staff.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location inside the city walls is always nice. The only inconvenience is that you have to park your car outside the walls, but in this case there are 2 parkings closeby. The staff was very friendly, the interior of the hotel pleasantly decorated though sometimes a bit overwhelming (in my opinion) and the inside 'garden'/court pleasant. Our room was big and comfortable. We ate in their restaurant in the evening. Our meal was quite good and the staff was friendly even though they were a bit taken by the rush that evening.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Full of character.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Lots of character. Beautiful lounges filled with historical artefacts and interesting art with comfortable seating for relaxing. A beautiful sheltered courtyard with a small pool to cool down after a hot day in the sun.

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Good position for walking exploration, quirky & tasteful decor. Easy access to walk to good choice of restaurants & to ‘eat out for breakfast. Lovely clean & walled medieval town.
Cons: Front of hotel bedroom had hard bed & was noisy. Hotel readily changed room.
