CAR A LEMONPros:The agent was very thorough during pick-up.Cons:The car was horrible. It was loud, you could hear the tires rolling on the concrete. It was so loud driver and and passengers had to yell to be hear correctly inside the car. Apparently,there were no shocks on the car either because every bump in the street was felt. I tired to exchange the vehicle at several locations but no cars were available. The airport location representative attempted to exchange the vehicle but the system would not let her complete the transaction because I did not rent from an airport location. Pros:The guy upgraded me to a large SUV.Cons:My flight was 4 hours late due to a mechanical problem. I called Advantage to alert them I would be late for my pick-up, and the woman told me my reservation was cancelled after one hour. If I wanted a car, I would have to re-book at the current rate, which was 3 times higher than my original rate. When I arrived in Houston, I waited in line 45 minutes to pick-up my car. The guy there said nothing about me being late, nothing about my reservation being cancelled - he just gave me a car. Why does one person tell me my reservation had been cancelled? It seems like this staff has no idea what they are doing.Reviewed Jun 27 2016

Never rent from advantagePros:The car got good gas mileageCons:I reserved a sonata, received an Elantra. The customer service rep lied about the prices of gas in the area, and the prices of tolls. No one was there when we dropped the car off in the morning... Never renting from advantage again, one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a rental company.Reviewed Apr 12 2016

Pros:Nice new car. No issues with return process.Cons:It took 2 hours for me to check out my car because of poor planing and execution of the checkout employees. I was forced to pay for an upgrade due to cars "not ready" as a result of the recent flooding in Houston, TX. This is not my problem that the cars were not ready. Advantage should ensure that cars are ready when clients arrive for pickup. If they are not ready due to some other circumstance that is not something I should be forced to pay for. If anything I should receive a credit or free upgrade. Given no response from your company as a result of my complaint, I will not use Advantage again.Reviewed Jun 14 2016

Check in, check outPros:When I picked the car up there was no one to give the papers describing the condition of the car as I exited the rental area. Also no washer fluid in car. When I brought the car back there was no one to assist, there were two Advantage workers there,just hanging out apparently, who told me that the person who checked you in was "down there" in the office and would be back in a "little while". Like most people who return a car to rental agency at an airport I had a flight to catch and didn't have a "little while" to waste. Had to take the paper work down to the main office where the Advantage employees were busy renting cars to other people. The people at the main desk were very polite and helpful, the other employees, not so much.Reviewed Nov 25 2015

Pros:The car was clean, in good condition, and ran well.Cons:Pickup didn't clearly communicate the added fees, so after he printed it out the first time, I had to wait in line again to ask for him to reprocess the rental agreement and waive the roadside and collision insurance provisions. He then deferred correcting the agreement to the remote desk (in the parking garage) - why couldn't he have corrected it himself, instead of making me take the shuttle and explain it to a new set of employees? With dropoff, it was unclear where I was supposed to leave the vehicle, and the lot was unattended, so there was no one to ask.Reviewed Jan 19 2016

Where was my car?Pros:There was no one in the office! My plane was delayed by 30 minutes. I had no car and had to take very very expensive cabs. I will NEVER again use kayak or Advantage!!!!Cons:I did not like reserving a car and then ntnhaving one. I did not like spending over $400 in cab fess when I had rented a car for $200!!!Reviewed May 6 2016

Good RentalPros:We rented from Advantage on a recent trip to Houston and had a very positive experience. The staff was helpful, the car clean and shiny, and it ran well throughout our trip.Cons:The only annoyance is one common to renting cars in Houston. You have to make a decision to add a Toll Pass for $10 per day (which includes the tolls). There are toll roads that don't take cash and unless you are familiar with the highways, you can get stuck on one. With caution we took the pass but only used it two of the four days, for tolls that were less than $10.Reviewed Jun 4 2016
