Everything was good, but at Philadelphia airport, immigration service was so poor.

Horrible Airline. They kept me in Lagos for 2 days after I was scheduled to fly. Reason, flight has been overbooked. I am never using this airline again.

There was no remote unlike the B787 between MAN and DOH. Pre-download things on laptops, tablets, phones or whatever ifyou are not going to sleep on the flight. It also took 3 hours because of UAE and Qatar :("
Pros: "Seating and comfort is great, as long as you are not seated next to a 'larger' person or a person with restricted mobility. Not a fault of Qatar airways, but probably the norm in most international flights in Economy. Food was the best of all the airlines I have flown, and the correct temperature as well."

The staff tried to get me to take medicines that I could not read for nauseous but I would not. They said they were prescribed by a doctor! What doctor. The flight was the longest worst ever! 14 hours - nothing to eat or drink! In addition, the head flight attendant said the baggage compartment over my head was a problem as it opens all the way down and bags fall easily out. The bag was easily 30 pounds and landed directly on my head. I suffered a concussion."

Pros: "Check-in was a breeze; considering this being an internationaly travel, baggage check-in process was fast and easy. Was in and out in about 5 minutes. Goodie bag was a good idea; the goodie bag contains an eye mask, mini tooth brush, paste, hand cream, etc. These all were great idea and definitely helpful. However this is ruined by the tooth paste. It was a tiny tooth paste, fair enough but the opening is sealed tight w/o a way to easily pry open. This was a total bad idea of packaging. Flight tips were also good idea and informational."
Cons: "Atlanta to Doha was about 14 hours flight. The seats were cramped and narrow (no side support) Seat cushion has been stripped down to bare minimum, so effectively you may not feel much of a cushion. Cramped legroom Seats felt like junk and I had started having leg cramps after few hours. This so disappointing for a premier airline like Qatar. Overall a very uncomfortable ride."

Food quality was really good, crew was cordial. Please ask passengers for bread instead of putting in plate by default, lot of people dint eat and it was wasted. We should avoid food wastage. Better shaped pillows (in general across airlines not specific for Emirates as such).

Had I paid full fare for my Business ticket instead of upgrading from Economy, I’d be asking for my money back. Emirates are seemingly renowned for their Business Class product however in this case it was pretty poor and I’d say even BA or Virgin Premium Economy is a better product. The cabin on the 777-300 is dated and lack of private screen means that if you start a film before someone next to you, you can see what’s coming but even worse, as there was no amenity kit with an eye mask it’s hard to sleep with two bright screens in front of you. The food was mediocre and well below anything I’ve had on BA or any US carrier with only a single meal service offered on a 7 hour flight. Seriously unimpressed and would not travel Emirate again.

No lounge access. Was not informed when reserving that ticket does not cover lounge. Did not provide all drink options inflight

Fine Emirates service, everything you'd expect. Good food and drink, good service, good entertainment. Not the worst seats, for economy class. Only real problem was the lack of mask enforcement. Probably about 5% of passengers didn't bother, and the crew didn't do anything to ask them.

Pros: "All the Air Team Crew were really friendly. On the first connection to from Nairobi to Dubai, I sat next to a fellow passenger who was nervous about the moderate turbulance that we hit. At the end of the flight, as we waited to disembark, a lovely Attendant stood next to us and we had the most warm friendly conversation I've ever had in all my years of flying. She made us feel like friends as she gave us an insight into her 'high flying' lifestyle while being professional. Unfortunately I can't remember her name as I would have loved to give her a special mention but she was so lovely."

Cons: "This is the first time it's happened to me, but I was scheduled to leave Oslo on Wednesday, but Emirates cancelled my flight and put me on the next one. It would have been alright had they offered some sort of compensation or made it up to me in one way or another, but that was not going to happen. They cancelled and the cost was on me (as per the T's & C's I was told) and that was pretty much that. Here's a hint, it seems like their Scandinavian flights are underperforming and in a cost saving effort, they're randomly cancelling flights. I subsequently found out they did it to someone else in the area causing them to miss two days of a pre-booked vacation. So, if they cancel, it's going to cost you a lot more in a city like Oslo to wait a day - not to mention the costs involved in missing work or vacation, so maybe shop around then. I still like Emirates, but I'm feeling a little burnt after this episode."

Your crew member was very inconsiderate. All she had to do was answer the question and not make any other comment to her co-worker (Joyanne) about how she wish they (meaning ) passengers would read the menu. I was very disappointed about her comment. Even worst, to see how inconsiderate she was and how she did not even considered if this gentleman could read, or did not have his eyewear. I believe her comment was unnecessary and inappropriate at the time. I could not quite get her name, but she does not need to deal with the public."

It took forever to get off the train to the busses, the staff on the ground seemed very confused about who should go to which bus (much to the visible frustration of flight attendants), and once we boarded the bus, it was a half-hour trip to the airport terminal. Half an hour. Standing up, to get from the plane to the airport. We landed an A380 at the Emirates flagship airport on-time for a normally scheduled flight, and it seemed to take everyone by surprise."

I've never had 'Homes International' and 'Don't tell the Bride' on any flights, which are favorites of mine and are very popular.. I fly on 16 flights/year domestic and international. The flight attendants were very pleasant and helpful."

I was then charged $600 to reschedule for the next day. Cons: "On Monday, September 3, I traveled from Frankfurt to Washington Dulles on United 933 (this return trip to the US began in Rome on Lufthansa earlier in the afternoon). The plane left on time and we touched down at Dulles on time (a little before 8pm EDT), after flying 8 hours. It was 2am Central Europe time. Experience with customs / passport control at Dulles was the worst I've ever experienced, in any country. In my life I’ve traveled to 40 countries (lived in 7) and flown many different carriers. I stood in line 2 (TWO) hours before finally seeing passport control and quickly getting cleared through. There were no announcements of any kind as we waited, and the airport acted as if it were routine and expected that all these people, some with small children be put through this ordeal. There were about 4 or 5 men or women manning the passport control booths, though capacity for maybe 20 more. Some people while in line downloaded the Mobile Passport and were able to then bypass the line. I had technical problems with my phone and could not. Again, NO communication was made by airport personnel or United; we were on our own. Because of this unexpected delay, I had to catch a taxi to my home in Arlington for a fee of $55. I had planned to catch less expensive transport but was already late for a planned event."

Cons: "I booked through the United website as trip from US, have Silver status on United, and Lufthansa's policies of not allowing advance (1-2 mo before flight) seat selection (never on UA nor LH websites) are just horrible. Hard to get through on 800 number, and 1 day before trip answer was still to do it in Frankfurt. Economy plus was $1000 more/person, and even then no guarantee I could choose a seat far in advance. Then, at computer kiosk in Frankfurt, they had a wrong diagram of the plane,as we ended up on what turned out to be a no-recline row which I would never get. I'm 6'2", 230lbs, and wasn't able to sleep on that flight. Had I been able to reserve a seat behind a bulkhead or in exit row 2mos in advance, I would have been fine."

Took 4 hours to get through Security - missed United flight to EWR - insufficient staffing at all Security checkpoints - had a number of cancellations previous day duty weather, however, no adjustments were made"

Cons: "I'm not sure if I missed the fine print saying this flight is operated by United or if it wasn't started at all, but it was a complete surprise on the day of travel to discover that what I thought would be a Lufthansa flight was instead operated by one of my least favorite airlines, one that I normally avoid booking with, for the transcontinental leg of my trip. Because of this, when I tried to upgrade my seat upon checking in, the Lufthansa website redirected me to the United website which in turn just gave me an error. I ended up in a shitty seat for 11 hours. The crew were fine but the quality of the food and snacks served was pretty mediocre and it was clearly an old plane, the Economy seats didn't have individual screens for personal entertainment, we had to watch whatever was shown on the screens for the entire cabin. These small things matter when you're stuck in a seat for 11 straight hours. If I had known it was United I wouldn't have selected this flight."

Cons: "My seat was broken and wouldn't stay in upright position. This really pissed off the passenger behind me. Crew kept telling me to put my seat upright, I kept having to tell them the seat was broken. Old airplane with no in-seat entertainment. they advertise on the seat that you can watch all their entertainment content for free, but then you have to pay for wifi to watch so it's not free then, is it? Every movie or show requires "additional software" so you have to purchase internet to do the download. This is an 11 hour flight, I would have appreciated being able to watch a movie or something without forking out $30. Flight was delayed, so we were low on time to make our connection. I asked a flight attendant twice if we could get help deplaning early or at least get moved up some rows since we were in the very back of a 747 (there were plenty of vacant seats). They said no, and told us that customs would only take a minute and that the other united flight knew we'd be coming and would wait. I don't usually fly united; other airlines typically will actively take steps to help (like moving connecting passengers to the front shortly before landing) if they are the cause of the delay. Customs had only one agent working and we were pretty much last in line so that process took over an hour. Just moving us 10 rows forward before landing would have made all the difference because our connecting flight closed its doors and taxied for takeoff less than 5 minutes before we arrived. They had some united employees guiding and directing a couple of passengers that were going to be late for a connection to LAX, but no help for those of us connecting to portland. Customer service didn't even offer a verbal apology. Last time I flew with united, I also had a terrible experience for different reasons. I did not intend to fly united for this flight, but I purchased tickets through and for Lufthansa, and this flight was regrettably operated by united. Another thing I don't like - the food was horrendous. It was a breakfast sandwich that was advertised as "hot and fresh" on the packaging but was served straight from the refrigerator. I was in the middle seats with one person to my left and two people to my right. Everyone took only one bite and threw away the rest. Just don't bother serving the food if it's going to be that bad, it's very wasteful. I always appreciate a hot towelette after a long overnight flight. United offered no such thing which was a first for me. Regarding boarding: they called us all up to line up in boarding groups and then we had to stand in line for 65 minutes. I have a bad back and had to sit on the carpet to avoid being last in line and not having space for my carry on bag. Would have been nicer if they would have just let us sit in the chairs at the gate in comfort until they were ready to board."
Pros: "Nothing."
Cons: "Polaris class - the configuration felt like a military transport. The business class configuration was like a pig sty.... bad bad. Seats facing backward..... but the look was like a crowded economy with flat beds. Looked like a college dorm. I've sworn never to fly United ever. I'll pay $2000 extra to avoid legs where they are flying. Food - flushable. Don't offer vegetarian food if you can't prepare it. I'll carry some Taco Bell. Horrendous. Service excellent, courteous people and prompt attention."
Pros: "Flight UA 945 got me home!"
Cons: "Everything. This was a UA plane and LH ticket. We had to check in with LH in a completely different concourse than we departed. The plane was very aged, the carpets and seats were soiled and the bathrooms were in a terrible state of repair and floors filthy. I think this plane is more fitting for the grave yard than the skies. It was completely overcrowded with seats. Although I am only 6 ft tall, my knees touched the seat in front on me. Entertainment was disfunctional to a state of unusable. The small analog screens were streaked and blurry and selection terrible. Audio jacks were worn so bad you could maintain contact one ear but at the time. Food was awful and very sparse and served by very Grouchy crew members. Breakfast and a snack were inedible. No real meal was served. Never again on UA. I recommend LH consider divorcing themselves from UA."
Pros: "Flight crew were extremely courteous, helpful and gracious. I wish the ground crew were half as good as the flight crew."
Cons: "The boarding experience was very. The boarding lady was, in my opinion, racist. First I requested to have seats reassigned if possible, since I was traveling with my brother and we bought the same ticket but were assigned different seats. The lady was extremely rude. The flight was 2/3 full so this shouldn't have been an issue. On they Chicago to Nairobi flight we asked the same question and the lady was extremely helpful and pleasant. Secondly, I bought a bottle of Whisky from Nairobi airport. Frankfurt airport refused to allow me to continue with it. They insisted on having it checked it, which can only happen outside the airport. I gave it my brother to check in, but he was delayed. While people were boarding I told staff that I would wait and see if he could make it aboard. Suddenly the lady said that he is 'high risk' because he left the secure part of the airport and he will not be on the flight and off too because I said I was waiting. The other 2 check - in personnel stepped in and were helpful. The gave me a couple of minutes to decide if I wanted to board the plane because the would have to pull my bags off the plane if I decided not to board. This one racist lady ruined the entire boarding experience. I wish I had taken note of her name. I doubt that I will transit through Frankfurt or use Lufthansa by choice ever again."
Pros: "Left on time, arrived on time. Crew was great."
Cons: "Meals and seats are getting smaller and smaller."
Pros: "Our plane was delayed, nothing could be done about that and the food at the airport was great. So our extremely quick transfer became something that let us down and have a meal. Food was okay on the flight. And the Crew was very polite. All of our bags made it, hooray! New technology at the international terminal in SFO needs better, multi-language assistance signs."
Cons: "This may have been the oldest 747 in United's inventory. There were still cigarette ash trays in the bathroom and the bathroom was not user-friendly at all. My seat was busted and would not do anything but be fully reclined with a broken headrest too. Padding/ergonomics in the seat was terrible. Entertainment was old school, only main cabin TV's, no personal selection."
Cons: "Food was terrible, entertainment was non-existent and crew is sub par compared to other airlines. The flight was United, so no one should be surprised at the poor rating. I though I booked a flight with Lufthansa, but tunrs out this was partnered with United. Terrible experience. Don't think I would fly United again even if you paid me."
Cons: "the crew, especially one sour faced woman,with long hair who was always occupied with her tablet, kept missing me when distributing refreshments. Very old movies offered for entertainment, my headphones didn't work. The smell of the breakfast rolls which had been heated up in their paper wrappers, literally made me nauseous and I had to throw up in the restroom. The take off was delayed causing me to miss my connection to SNA in Houston."
Pros: "Food was good service was great"
Cons: "The food was not satisfactory. Soon after take-off everyone received a skimpy packet of breadsticks. A while later a meal (lunch) was served. It was very good. Many hours later everyone received a packet of pretzels, etc. About an hour before arrival everyone received a sandwich in a plastic wrap. It was close to inedible. Beverage service was very good. However, the amount of food served was unacceptable. This seemed like a budget flight. Very different from the flight to Europe on a Lufthansa plane. This was on a United plane. Will make me think twice about flying to Europe on a United plane."
Cons: "One of the flight attendants was having an "off" day - the bin she had closed over my head opened during takeoff (nothing fell out), and later she broke a glass on my tray, sending pieces of glass into my lap. Not damage done (except that I didn't finish my last few bites of lunch!), and everyone has an off day sometimes..."
Cons: "Small sit, nothing on TV, bad food"
