Not sure if it was the gentlemans first time but overall he and the woman working the boarding were very slow and could have been more efficient. We boarded late (may be out of their control) but when we started boarding there was too much wasted time between calling up the military/people with longer boarding needs/wheelchairs etc. They waited until they were completely boarded and settled prior to calling the next group then spent time fiddling with the sign that splits the boarding lanes etc. Just appeared that there was no sense of efficiency. Polite people though."

As the delays continued, 3 in all, we were told that the aircraft was at DYT but we were waiting on a crew to be flown in from Charlotte. Not sure how AA messed up their crew rest schedule on domestic regional jet carrier. Either way, a new gate attendant arrived to take over, and continued to tell us we were waiting on crew. Then the story changed to waiting on aircraft and crew. By the time the 3rd change in departure had been made, and we were still waiting on aircraft and cre, AA failed to continue to update the departure and arrival times. Once we boarded around 9:00pm the boarding time still showed 8:10pm. Then we sat on the runway awaiting departure for approx 40 minutes before taking off. Very poor communication And customer service."

This is not the British way that I have been accustomed to on previous BA flights, and is rather upsetting. The only other option available was for BA to put us on the 20:20 Kulula flight to Lanseria and then shuttle us from Lanseria to OR Tambo. It really is not pleasant to get back home so late on a week night and not even be given any warning or any reason for the huge delay."

I have special needs at my age and so booking early is how I typically make sure I can access the bathrooms easily without climbing over sleeping passengers. I picked flight for the price, but in the end I should have stuck with Delta, KLM and Air France and got the extra miles as with seat bookings and only one bag allowance, what I ended up paying did not make it worth it. Oh well, live and learn. Seats were tight, anyone bigger than me would have really struggled."

Now that is is poor customer service."

Apart from the delays in terms of departure times, the airline experience was so bad, given the medical incident from a passenger sitting at the back of the plane. I was so close to it, and was utterly disappointed by the failure of the cabin crew to control passengers from overcrowding the sick passenger and allow the crew to administer the necessary medical intervention. It all amounted to compromised safety at 30000 feet, and seriously more training on the part of the airline is required in this regard. The other issue I realised is lack of cleanliness and care on the part of cabin staff, with one lady spilling food next to where I was sitting and ignoring the incident completely. I had to ask another to intervene and for which only superficial help was rendered. This is not what I expected, but this is what I got and speaks volumes to a cabin crew which is all female, mature/elderly, and expected to be more hands on to problems of this nature. The food is terrible in economy class, with options very limited. I opted for chicken, but did not know that it had curry in it, so I could not eat my meal further, and so no need to ask for the vegetarian option.

Hard to get through on 800 number, and 1 day before trip answer was still to do it in Frankfurt. Economy plus was $1000 more/person, and even then no guarantee I could choose a seat far in advance. Then, at computer kiosk in Frankfurt, they had a wrong diagram of the plane,as we ended up on what turned out to be a no-recline row which I would never get. I'm 6'2", 230lbs, and wasn't able to sleep on that flight. Had I been able to reserve a seat behind a bulkhead or in exit row 2mos in advance, I would have been fine."

The only complaint is the typical lack of room on UA planes. Fortunately the flight was less than 2 hours."
Cons: "Lack of space. I have experienced worse on recent UA flights...at least this time my knees weren't actually touching the seat in front of me, and the person in front of me chose not to recline their seat so it stayed that way. The other issue with this flight was the boarding process, which was really slow. Fortunately, they towed the plane to the gate over an hour before departure and started boarding almost immediately so we still managed to leave on time."
Pros: "Plane was delayed 87 minutes because the plane had maintenance issues that the air and did not organize and plan better. For their error, I missed my client and got fired."
Cons: "The airline not getting me on the Dayton-Newark then Newark-Rochester flight so I could get to my destination on time. The agent at the airport was not helping or listening. Now I miss my client loss a lot of money for the day and I got fired."
Cons: "I think if you over 6”7 you should not be charged for an exit row on commuter planes"

Cons: "I purchased my ticket in March with seating assigned to me and then when I travel from Chicago to San Jose my seating was changed and I had to sit back in the 22nd row now I walk with a cane and so this is very was very painful for me, my itinerary said that my seating was row seven for the whole trip but when I got ready to fly home from Chicago to San Jose to- day ,so I was very uncomfortable. I did not know my seating had been changed."

Pros: "I ultimately arrived at my final destination on the same day that I left, and 12 hours later instead of 36 hours later that it was looking like it'd be at the time. Crew at the gate and on the plane were wonderful. Personnel at the airport were also wonderful aside from the fact that I couldn't seem to get on the official standby list until my mother-in-law got me on by talking to personnel at a completely different airport."
Cons: "Flight was diverted due to weather and subsequently was cancelled and rebooking was a disaster. Lines and phone hold times for rebooking took an hour each time I stood in line, which was four times.Thankfully, I was on standby for this same-day flight and was able to arrive at my destination 12 hours later than planned instead of 36 hours later than planned."

Cons: "Sitting on the tarmac for 30 minutes. The flight attendants didn't encourage those with connections to get let off first."
Pros: "I checked in online and got free TSA precheck so I didn't have to unload my bags or take off my shoes. Everything went really fast, and I was back home to my family in no time!"
Cons: "There was no way of knowing if my baggage was in the claim area as several flights were unloaded onto one belt at a time."

Cons: "Flight was delayed approx 7-8 times, 7.5 hrs. I arrived at 7:15 am for a 9:20am flight to find that it was delayed. Wasn't notified before leaving home of delay. Was given a 2 food vouchers but very late, 30 mins before boarding time. Paid for two meals already by then. My Friday to Monday trip to see my family was shortened by almost a day. I hadn’t seen them for 3 years. Don't know when I'll be able to see them next. Not happy..."
Cons: "I had to interrupt my flight and book another flight from Denver to Phoenix. Mass confusion to simply guarantee my checked bag would no continue on to Maui. I was told to keep my bag at the ticket desk in Dayton....scolded for doing so at the gate....then again scolded for same thing at gate for Denver to Phoenix. At least I kept track of my bag through it all."

Cons: "Being required to sit in middle seat and I'm deaf so I could not see what was going on in the isle like watching the flight attendants deliver their message."

Cons: "2+ hours late to depart with no explanation. Multiple delay messages from United ranging from 59 minutes late to 2 hours 10 minutes late often within minutes of each other. Poor service, crowded, and very uncomfortable."

Cons: "The flight was overbooked by at least 10. The arriving flight delayed departure 45 minutes which almost caused a missed connection. The original time between connection was 90 minutes. By the time the first flight arrived, the second was already boarding."
Pros: "Flight was smooth. Left on time. Everyone was pleasant."
Cons: "Seats are cramped. Could not understand flight attendants or captain when they spoke on the intercom. Sat in one of the last rows. Didn't get to us for drink service."
