There was no ventilation in the room. It was hot. There were no board games or any source of entertainment available. Pool was closed. I had asked the receptionist and they were not accommodating. Room service was disappointing. I had ordered the bathroom accessories and nothing came.
Staff was much more responsive and helpful than in past stays. We come a few times a year. We really appreciated the much friendlier service-orientation. It is a quiet month in Whistler (why we came). Beds are great, bathrooms great. Check in was excellent and accommodating. Fireplace and kitchen in room is great.
Rooms are small & tight. Dining table had stuck on food dried when we arrived. The living room is tiny and the furniture scratchy and hard. It’s quite squashed. Bedroom is super tight too. The lobby is under renovation. We were told they could only make noise (trust me, they are jackhammering) from 11-3. We went down to breakfast at 10:20 and they were jackhammering. They did quiet down when we mentioned it. It was LOUD. The buffet hot food was very cold, eggs and potatoes we tried. Pineapple chunks were brown and half rotten. But they made us new eggs. We turned in the next 2 days’ breakfast vouchers, thought we’d best eat in our room and get the points instead. They called us and gave us the points AND in-room dining breakfasts free, fantastic!!!!! This hotel has had a poor design for getting folks to enjoy drinks in lobby or dine, Fairmont with its Mallard lounge here kills them by comparison. Hopefully the new lobby will be more welcoming to encourage guests to gather for a drink or dine. They’re missing out on a ton of food & beverage revenue.
The staff, gym, pool and hot tub area were amazing. The room was also beautiful and the bath tub was a perfect size! Antoine on the front desk was so nice and helpful and let us check in early and gave us a gorgeous room. Thanks for making our bday weekend so good!
Great location within walking distance of the village. Room was very comfortable with a gas fireplace and the biggest TV I have ever seen in a hotel room. Overall excellent place to stay while enjoying Whistler!
Close to everything we wanted to see. Walking distance to everything the area has to offer.
My only complaint would be the cost. I would avoid returning for that reason only. Just a bit too rich for my blood.
