Hotel Wailea is by far one of the top three hotels I've stayed in for a vacation. The hotel far exceeded my expectations 1,000%. The rooms and facilities are extremely comfortable. You can see some incredible sunsets from the resort. The property is exceptionally groomed and it is incredibly peaceful.
The breakfast menu is very pricey. Far pricier than most places on the island and the proportions are pretty small considering that most of the plates are $22+. However, since all rooms are fully equipped with mini kitchens (Nespresso machine, microwave, toaster, etc.) you can very easily grab some breakfast food at a local grocery store. Therefore, this did not, in any way, take away from my experience at the hotel.
The engagement of the staff. Valets, Front desk, waitstaff and housekeeping were all very pleasant and engaging. I got the impression that they genuinely loved their job and responsibility. My wife and I came to the same conclusion.
In my opinion, absolutely nothing!
Everything was wonderful. The suites were sizable and very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool, the beach/sea activities and the fitness center. We were very sad to leave. The Tesla's were a comfortable and stylish way to be transferred around Wailea as well. Overall terrific and extremely well kept. It was like staying in a clean forest with sea views and a lot of nature.
It would have been nice to have a convenience store on property to purchase items for the nice kitchen.
Great property and service overall. Very quiet and secluded, lush and sexy. We really enjoyed the pool and Tesla shuttle to the beach.
I feel like we were placed in one of the worst rooms on the property, just with a view of grass. The garden view room photos were quite different from our personal reality. I am fairly confident that hotels have some way of filtering those they believe to have lower expectations that they can fill their less desirable rooms. This is a comment on the industry rather than only against this particular hotel.
Friendly staff, quiet, complementary shuttle, complimentary water at the pool and in the room, guests-only beach sun beds, feels like disconnected fron rest of the world, lovely pool area, spacious/modern/clean rooms
