Bad Description on Kayak
Was right downtown Vancouver BC...that was about it.
In the description of the hotel on Kayak they did NOT explain the services structure at all! 1. When we arrived they mentioned it’s a shared bathroom and shared shower with the entire hotel floor...this was not mentioned on the website. 2. The Asian guy checking me in made many mistakes which i caught and spoke broken English (that part I didn’t have any issues with). Gave me the wrong parking spot number and clearly missed explaining and not giving me room keys until i asked a few times. 3. I would like a refund or at least 1/2 refund as they clearly did not tell me in the hotel description in any way about the bathroom and shower situation. I had a good friend i visited with and she is a germ phobe, so was kinda pissed about the shared shower and bathrooms... My main goal is to get a refund and have someone contact the hotel about updating the description. It’s simply misleading.
Was a completely terrible experience. Only two showers per floor (which is like 15-20 rooms). WiFi was awful and had to go to the lobby to use it. The worse part was that my friend and I both got entirely bit up by BED BUGS and when we contacted them a day later to ask for a refund, the hotel took 4 days to respond and informed me that they would not reimburse anything because I couldn't prove it was them (which was completely false). I have no idea how people are giving such good ratings given that they have been completely unhelpful. If you look at TripAdvisor.com you will see other complaints about bed bugs at this establishment as well. DO NOT GO HERE!!
Hostel but decent bang for your buck.
Rooms were small but clean. Great location on Granville walking distance to most bars/restaurants. Much cheaper than other hotels.
No bathroom in your room. Common areas were a bit dirtier and initially felt a little sketchy. No amenities.
It's a mixture between a hostel and a hotel (shared toilet, shower, kitchen), so if you don't mind that it's a nice place to stay. Walking distance to pubs/clubs at Granville St. and the commercial center in the Pacific Mall region.
It is not really a hotel, you know - more in the nature of a hostel. As such, it's just fine.
It was nice that there was a community kitchen at the end of the hallway. However, the lights were switched off after dark. Plus, it was very dirty as other guests seemed to think that the fairies would clean up after them: twice, we washed a huge amount of dishes and disposed of garbage as well as having to wipe dirty counters.
