Cons: No complaints. Always a great stay.

Pros: Very well laid out with several choices,
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Room kind of ordinary. But still nice
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The ease of walking access to so many things. The size of the room. The pool, which my two granddaughters (who live there ) loved! The dining area— we brought our own food but used the area and it worked so well. I especially love that dogs are real guests and are allowed to be in the lobby and elevators. And even in such an urban setting, the dog walking area was very clean and adequate, with cleanup bags provided.
Cons: It was truly very very nice. No complaints!
6,7 Good
Pros: The staff was friendly and the evening and breakfast meals were a great bonus!
Cons: I booked a two bed queen room with a pull out couch. I got a two queen room do we had to get a roll away. Disappointing.
7,1 Good
Cons: We stayed 2 nights and our room was never cleaned. The lady gave us clean towels but never came to make beds etc. We told her we would be gone in half an hour. I even told lady at desk in the afternoon that our room had never been freshened and she said she would have housekeeping take care of it. When we came back to go to bed nothing had been done!

Pros: Spacious room with the fireplace a comfortable bed a large immaculate bathroom and nice amenities
Cons: Location is a bit far from walkable restaurants and nightlife. The television in my room did not work and although the staff did everything they could to help make it work it just would not. Limited room service options. Late night dining not available

Pros: Loved the corner room-it was large and lots of windows!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The room

Pros: Breakfast was perfect for us. We enjoyed the egg station and there was a good selection of fruit and grains to make us happy. We are not big breakfast eaters so your mileage may vary.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Quite room & comfortable bed.
Cons: Toilet didn’t flush well, cheap quality toilet paper paper (only single ply). Also, only one mirror in bathroom, really need second in room or over bar area.

Pros: Staff was extremely helpful & friendly. Nice, quiet & very clean. Bar was nice & had good drinks.
Cons: I would rate breakfast a 7 as it is. A little tweaking could make it a 9 or 10. Chef makes omelettes, but that’s all. Maybe add waffles or French toast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning old building. The breakfast was amazing and the rooms were spacious and clean!
Cons: The noisy downtown sounds:(

Cons: The noisy people above us. The kids jumped around all night like they had a circus going on up there.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Hot tub wasn't in order, but they gave me a 30 dollar food voucher to the Machine Shed next door.
Cons: Hot tub jets didn't work, no free breakfast, coffee in main lobby was gross
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great for our needs.
Cons: There was only a continental breakfast served as opposed to the choice to purchase the breakfast buffet. The explanation for the change was low occupancy during our stay. Overall, it was fine, especially since the offered breakfast was complimentary.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The hotel was very pretty.
Cons: Bed was very uncomfortable. Was not able to sleep all night. Had cramp mid back area.
9,2 Excellent

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very crisp and clean appearance. Staff was very helpful and attentive.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff at front desk were just incredible! Friendly. Over the top helpful without being intrusive. Like that there are many places to take a cocktail so lobby doesn’t resemble a bar. Not my first stay and will continue to schedule when in area.
Cons: Just know that if u book poolside it’s noisier which is fine when u have children with u. There are many other room options available. Breakfast could be better. Food wasn’t super hot but was good.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: My housekeeper Imelda was so attentive and helpful. The front desk people know me because of frequent stays and always ask how I am doing and if I need anything. I love the size and personal care guests receive.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, friendly staff, clean room.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Large lobby with lake lodge feel is great for visiting with family. Large fire places inside and outside the entrance are great.
7,5 Good
Pros: The bed was heavenly.
Cons: No kleenex, has to use toilet paper to blow my nose. I had a handicapped room as I request. But the water did not drain correctly and the bathroom floor was like a lake. which is VERY dangerous, I had to use several towels to soak up the water, yet there was a sign asking the guest to conserve on towels. My cloths that I took off and left on the floor while taking a shower were soaking wet and there was nothing to put them in so I had to use the trash can liners to bag them up. I have a handicapped shower at home that drains properly, you need to do something about that so someone will fall down and crack their head open and sue you.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The decor is so cool and the rooms were clean. I highly recommend this place if you want a nice hotel without the stuffy hotel feel. The breakfast was outstanding as well. I highly recommend this place for couples and families.
7,1 Good
Pros: Clean, friendly, free appetizers
Cons: No microwave in the room
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff, and free hot breakfast.
Cons: Waterfall on hot tub needed repaired, but hot tub and pool worked fine.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Need new coffee dispenser. Did free wine go away? Love location.
Cons: Left cleaning cloths in bathroom.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Decor is great, just what I expected for a lodge
Cons: This was a quick stay for sleep, needing to get back on the road before sun-up...I will request to not be facing the pool area next time. The family in the pool was having a great time but my family was not able to get to sleep before 11p (a little rough when needing to be up at 4a)
7,9 Good
Pros: Breakfast, pool was nice (may needed to be clean), love that atmosphere
Cons: Beds were hard, campfire closed early, room didn't have enough pillows, hot tub hard to use
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We used the pool with our grandkids and especially enjoyed the outdoor fire pit. We left before breakfast the next morning but were able to pick up some coffee and rolls. It would be nice if you could add a take n go breakfast for those persons who have to leave early. We had an early event at Camp Dodge so missed breakfast.
Cons: Everything was fine.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We were so tired and took advantage of the room service from a nearby restaurant. What a relief. The beds, pillows and room comfort were fantastic and we slept well. Thank you!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Lobby area with comfortable sofas and seats that encouraged engaging and gathering. Also love that it is pet friendly!

4,2 Okay
Cons: Rooms weren’t at all soundproof- could hear everything from neighboring rooms. No help removing snow after snowstorm. In fact their plowing made things worse for guests. No one at front desk for 10-15 minutes at a time when guests had to wait.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Robert at the front desk was most gracious and kind.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was nice inside and out, and the staff at the front desk was very nice. Room was clean and pretty, and many amenities were provided or offered. Free WiFi offered, and water pressure in shower was fantastic!
Cons: For the price, breakfast should be included, as well as a microwave. Pillows are way too poofy and lack support, not comfortable at all.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. It seemed a bit pricey and I thought that was due to the holidays plus making reservations late. This place actually matched it's pictures. After staying there it will be hard to scale down. I wish I'd brought our bathing suits! Thanks so much for x-mas breakfast.
Cons: It took awhile to get hot water in the shower, but we also got up a bit late.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything else!
Cons: Walnuts in the cookies. Literally, my only complaint.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and staff. Restaurant onsite was excellent!

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice property, clean rooms, spacious and comfortable, on site restaurant was delicious, staff was great.

Cons: Quiet neighborhood but not far from downtown. Room was clean and comfortable.
9,6 Excellent
Cons: when i made this reservation i called to find out how much i needed to have on my card since we were going to an event that weekend that i needed mostly cash i had taken money out of my account. i had called and double checked that morning before i arrived to make sure thats all i needed was the amount. So after drving thru bad weather, emergency room visit i was wore out when i got to the hotel. Now remember i said i called, they informed me i needed 100 more for security. Its 8pm at night, im exhausted, my sons card had 288 on it we even called it. the room was 264.50. for some odd reason it wouldnt let us pay for both nights so we paid for one, about 9 we finally got our room key, since i was hurt earlier in the day i went up to the room while he and the kids went to get luggage. Tiredly i made it up to the room opened the door and theres kids and adults in the room, i quickly left the room and made my way back downstairs. Earlier in the day i stepped on a nail and had to get a tetanus shot, so by now my foots sore and swollen. Im close to tears im so tired and in pain and just want my shoes off. So she dont know why they gave my room to someone else even thou when i called that morning i stated my arrival would be 8 to 10pm. So finally got a room. Did go to breakfast on sunday for 12 bucks and had been in des moines the previous weekend at the fairfield and got a free breakfast there pretty much same as the 12 buck breakfast except i got cheesy hashbrowns at double tree, sausage links were way to undercooked looking that none of us dared eat any. For that price i expected alot better than continental, even Best western in Cedar rapids 3 weeks ago had a free continental breakfast that had exact same food. Rooms were same prices at all three but never had to have an 100 extra. I dont like to complain but all friday evening after i got checked in i was stressed out worrying about the next night and panic attack to put it mildly.

Pros: Overall everything was great. I had read a review about difficulty to get in and out of the hotel driving wise but it was no problem at all! I’m from S.E. Texas. It was fine!
Cons: All was well
10,0 Excellent
Pros: All was good just not enough parking had to park in handicap or across street
Cons: Maybe ready for softer comforters
6,7 Good
Pros: Breakfast was top notch, very well stocked and tasty!
Cons: Got in at 10:30 pm tired from a long day of driving to find a sign that said staff had to step away to help a guest. Waited fifteen minutes for someone to come back and by then there were four other customers waiting. This was a really busy hotel yet the employee said she was the only one working. Made no sense.
6,7 Good
Cons: I got hit with a $25 fee after I checked in that was not mentioned on the site or the reservation. So i was totally blind sided by it. These type of fees impact the value of the rate. In this case, I would have gone else where for a better rate. This will also cause me to steer clear of Hamptons for a while.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Easy to find, decent breakfast, pool hours

Pros: Breakfast was fine. We'd checked out early early so didn't have lots of time to linger, so appreciated that the food was ready when we were.
Cons: Some of the food seemed like it had been prepared/cooked prior to that morning and then just reheated. It was a bit dry and hard; overdone in the microwave, maybe? There were other food options so we were satisfied.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good and the location was perfect for our needs. Very quiet neighborhood.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Upon check-in, there were 3 clients in line and the desk clerk had to re-boot the computer. That was fine, as he gave us the option of waiting for him to re-boot, or giving us our room key and allowing us to return to the desk to check in, which I thought was nice. I'm sorry I don't recall his name, but he was courteous and professional. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable, our stay was quiet, but the TV kept cutting in and out periodically (tuner problem?). We didn't watch more than an hour of it before we decided to turn in for the night. We decided we'd tell the desk clerk in the morning when we checked out. Breakfast was great - lots of healthy options if you're watching your weight. I appreciated this!
Cons: Sunday's can be overwhelming in a breakfast area in any hotel but it appeared they were understaffed to handle all the usual chaos of a Sunday morning crowd. I only saw ONE attendant for a good-sized eating area. At one point, I saw the front desk clerk wiping down tables - this should not be part of his job, as it leaves the front desk unmanned when people are trying to check out - as I soon discovered. Upon approaching the desk to check out at 10:30, I was third in line and then 4 more people came. So there are 7 people in line waiting to check out and no desk clerk in sight. I waited 5 minutes, then just left my cards on the counter, as did 3 other people - we had a schedule to meet and had to get on the road. I found this unacceptable on a busy Sunday morning and was unable to report the bad TV in room 402.

Pros: Location was easy to get too and pretty much in the center of everything
Cons: I liked the parking ramp to keep the car safe out of the elements
7,5 Good
Pros: It was a nice hotel in a great area downtown - just on the river. We were there for the Fourth of July and they had fireworks and festivals going on. It was nice.
Cons: Housekeeping was lacking. We slept in, and received no housekeeping most of the time we were there.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Great location, breakfast was fantastic.
Cons: Whole reason I booked this room in comparison to other Des Moines hotels, is because this one had available "river view" rooms with balconies. When we arrived, we were told that all of those rooms were taken. Would have chosen a different hotel.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was great! We liked how quiet and comforting the room was after a long drive.
Cons: The staff were very short and not as polite as we would like.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Proximity to Principal Park and restaurants. Protected parking. Staff would let me leave car in parking ramp beyond checkout to catch a Sunday AAA Cubs game at 1:08pm after seeing one sat night at 7pm. A decent free breakfast I the am too!
Cons: No

7,9 Good
Pros: This is a newer facility so everything is clean and fresh.
Cons: I thought the king bed that we had was uncomfortable. I can't explain but it made a sound when getting in or out of it. Almost like it had plastic or something covering the mattress?????? Also and it may be because they were short an employee but the gal in the breakfast area couldn't keep up with supplying the breakfast buffet. Running out of hot food as well as items in the refrigerator.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was really good. Loved the bed in our King Suite! Our room was immaculate and I appreciate the coffee maker NOT being located in the bathroom.
Cons: The shower was difficult to master with my arthritic knees. Next time I will request a handicap accessible room. Our TV remote needed a battery and we requested one from the front desk they never got around to it. For some reason I had one in my purse and just replaced it myself.

Pros: The male bartender/server in the lobby bar on the evening of 7/27/19 was extremely friendly and helpful. When the kitchen staff messed up my salad order, he tried very hard to make things right. I appreciate his efforts.
Cons: This is not hotel related- but schedule-related: There were large gatherings of both a wedding reception and family reunion in the lobby area at the same time. The guests were extremely loud, boisterous, and drinking heavily into the early evening.

5,0 Okay
Pros: The food was good. Service was very good.
Cons: I booked a disability accessible room. I did not get an acceptable room. The night clerk told me because I booked on line thru Bookibg.com, that I could not change anything about my booking. Even though they messed up with giving me the wrong room type. Was not happy!
7,5 Good
Cons: Beds were too hard for us. Tub very slippery. Pull out bed was horrible to sleep on.
6,5 Good
Pros: Location. Cleanliness
Cons: Booked through a third party. Had to listen to general manager scold me on using a third party. Then asked for a double queen instead of the king I booked and he was not at all accommodating. He said since I booked through a third party I would have to contact them to request the change. So I contacted third party. They said that the hotel would have to change based on their availability. Back to the GM. He literally walked away. Wouldn't discuss or help. Thankfully on of HIS employees was able to resolve. He should not be in the position he is in.

Pros: Staff friendly.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness of the hotel and the staff were really nice. The pool was nice and warm
Cons: Only 3 pillows on the bed instead of 4 and a group of children being loud and rude in the pool and had no adult supervision. My kids were unable to swim because they wouldn’t allow them in the pool and kept splashing them. There wasn’t a difference in the water temp from the pool and the hot tub.
2,0 Mediocre
Pros: Location
Cons: Our room was next to the pool and the hours for the pool were not enforced. There were children screaming in the hallway. There were several events going on and the staff looked and acted overwhelmed.

Cons: You’ve got a nice place there
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the size of the bathroom! Also loved the variety of breakfast choices.
Cons: Thought I was getting a room with 2 queen beds and it ended up being one king but that was all I needed. Bed was pretty hard made me sore the next day.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness of facility, staff friendliness, room cleanliness along with nice breakfast (well stocked at all times).
Cons: None
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were very nice. Very nice hotel. Smoke free. But as a smoker, they put us in a room so we could easily get the door for a smoke break, instead of climbing 3 flights of stairs every time.
Cons: No indication of where things were at. Like the pool or the fitness room. You definitely had to look around like you were lost.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Located close to the airport, we had an early morning flight, there was food and coffee ready at 4:00am and shuttle was on time.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: So many choices on the breakfast buffet made choosing difficult. All the food prepared to perfection. Big rooms, perfectly appointed. Helpful staff at every level. Absolutely the best place to stay!
7,5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good, something for everyone. The kids really enjoyed the pool.
Cons: I double checked we would be getting a room with two beds for our family of 5, check in and there was only one bed and they staff was unapologetic about that and having nothing else available. They also had no suggestions about coping, like offering extra sheets or a roll out bed, I had to ask. The room didn't even look as pictured online, decorated completely different and stark. The bed we did get was lumpy, hard and the pillows sounded like they were filled with plastic bags. The room also had a musty weird smell and that was before we went to the pool.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Smelled good, clean. Price

5,0 Okay
Pros: The room was spacious
Cons: Breakfast was bland. We missed the turn and found the parking garage first. We carried all of our belongings and pushed baby in the stroller outside to get to the front of the hotel. They need better signage before you enter the garage. It was a hassle.
