Breakfast was ok. Lunch and cocktails were great. Beach was awesome.
- Musty smell in the room, stay away if you are allergic. Hard to breathe and very uncomfortable. - Room did not get any sun at all. Nothing dried while we were there. - Room design does not make sense. Two showers in the room, no door inside the room anywhere. The whole room gets steamy. One of the showers' has no drainage and bathroom floor gets all the water unable to drain. - Very noisy starting at 6:50am, impossible to sleep later. - No beach towels were available one day in the morning, for hours.
Food at restaurant by beach was amazing, the beach was perfect and the design of the outdoor hotel was pretty and jungle feeling. The bed was amazingly comfortable.
For the high price I felt the property lacked a lot. Only breakfast is included and you’re limited even that. A drink voucher or complimentary desserts with orders would have been nice. We ran out of toothpaste and the front didn’t have any. If you don’t offer all of it to your guests I suggest at least a few commodities behind the desk for guest requests. The turn down was just making the bed and taking trash out. In other places a turn down has a little surprise, even a little chocolate would have been a nice touch. Our room smelled like sewage it did get fixed but not something I expect for the price. You can hear everything outside your door, both nights loud guests woke me up, not the hotels fault but when I mentioned it the front was very rude and told me to just report it next time.
The smell of burning copal everywhere
The location was excellent and the fine dining experience was fantastic
Inconsistent staff attentiveness. Some staff very attentive and helpful, others simply stood there and watched. This was particularly so at the beach bar/restaurant. Limited menu at beach bar/restaurant. Grill restaurant advertised on website not open. Drinks, especially wine, ridiculously expensive, although food prices seemed reasonable. No porter to assist with luggage upon arrival. Our taxi driver had to bring our bags in. Would have liked a bar fridge and better lighting in room.
Be Tulum is a super-chic, adults-only luxury property in an excellent location outfitted with great amenities and spacious rooms. The design is very different from other Mexican resorts and there is little regional influence, which some adults love but others long for a more local feel.
The ultra-chic and breezy hotel draws mostly younger couples and groups of friends through hip designs and upscale experiences. Be Tulum has made a name for itself as one of the most well-equipped properties on the strip where guests are stylish and not on a budget.
Be Tulum is centrally located along Tulum's Hotel Zone and within walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shops. More attractions within walking distance can be found at this hotel than any other property on the strip. A free bike rental through the hotel can take guests to the Sian Ka’an nature preserve and a taxi can be at Tulum in 15 minutes. Day trips include snorkeling and diving in cenotes or swimming with turtles in Akumal. The club-bumping beach city of Playa del Carmen is about an hour’s drive.
Be Tulum is fully-loaded with features such a small property. An impressive variety of resort-like features such as a pool, two bars, and restaurant can be found on-site. Across the street is the hotel’s huge spa complex with tons of services. The beach is a sunny stretch of white sand dotted with comfy-looking beanbag chairs, dove-gray loungers, and shaded daybeds. Be Tulum also offers free bike rentals, sports equipment, and books.
The stylish 20 rooms at the upscale hotel feature plunge pools, indoor and outdoor showers, and mid-century modern décor.
