Friendl atmosphere, good location, and very good facilities.
We were more than happy with all facilities.
The continental side of breakfast was fine but the cooked offering was a bit on the parsimonious side. The bedroom was well-appointed and the owners had obviously gone to some trouble to provide leisure facilities. The swimming pool looked lovely though not warm enough in September for us to use.
The hotel appeared to be spotlessly clean except for our shower cubicle which had rather grimy tile grout in places. The water pressure in the shower was somewhat low and the bathroom itself rather an odd shape, being about 3 ft wide by about 10ft long. It would have been nice to have had a window which opened fully and for some reason the chambermaid only ever left three teabags (for 2 people?). The location of the hotel, whilst close to the town centre, involved some fairly steep hills to negotiate and, I nearly forgot, we discovered that the drawer front on one of the bedside tables was falling off though the owner did fix this very promptly.
Hotel very clean and quiet, staff very pleasant and helpful
Full English Breakfast was a little disappointing
