Great hotel overlooking the park
An excellent and scenic location. It is located directly across from the pond in Ueno Park. My room overlooked the park – a nice change from typical Tokyo hotels. The staff were professional and kind. The pajama set in the room was really nice, as well as the woven tote bag for carrying towels to the Onsen bath. You can wear the pajamas and slippers to the bath from your room, and there are all kinds of face cleansers, oils and creams for use in the women’s change room (as well as body soap, shampoo and conditioner in the shower area before you bathe.) On the bed there is an interesting plug-in massage pillow – give it a try! The breakfast had a nice mix of Western and Japanese choices, and all the coffee and tea you can drink. There is also a coffee machine in the lobby, as well as a kettle and small fridge in the room. The room has small bathtub and shower as well, but I highly recommend the Onsen bath on the 2nd floor! This hotel is excellently located, has wonderful staff and amenities, and I would certainly return here on my next trip.
It’s unavoidable – Central Tokyo rooms will be on the small size. On my own, it was perfect. Had there been two of us, it would have been a tight squeeze. But really, that’s the way it is in Tokyo. Not a complaint, just the fact of city living.
The location was very convenient, near the train station and with interesting sites nearby. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and pleasant; they went out of their way to help me with directions, suggestions and general friendliness. I loved the onsite onsen! Breakfast was ample and varied.
Room was a tad bit small but neat, attractive and organized.
Excellent location, nice rooms, friendly personnel.
The superior room, although bigger, has a worse sight over the temple than the others.
The staff is very helpful and friendly.
