Pros: This location is awesome because it is on a beach that is swimmable with fewer rocks. The staff were fun and very helpful. The rooms were very clean and really comfortable beds. My friend stayed in one of the beachside bungalows and that room was really cool! Worth the extra $.

Pros: The hotel is very well located. It is very cozy perfect for couples.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The food was excellent, fresh, and perfectly prepared with a great variety from day to day. Always served quickly and by a wonderful staff. Truly, exceptional all the way around. The décor, grounds, the elegance of the entire property were above and beyond my highest expectations. When a raccoon moved onto the roof of our suite on night two, Tatiana graciously upgraded us to a more decadent room with a Jacuzzi tub, gorgeous and absolutely exceptional. It's right in town and easy access to the shops, the beach and restaurants. We opted for the plan that includes breakfast and dinner, which I highly recommend. A great value, but also super convenient and absolutely delicious every time.
Cons: I can't think of a single thing! It rained a few time, but hardly the hotels doing! they had umbrellas and slip signs to assist.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! It was so amazing. The food was amazing, the staff was so polite, the place is so gorgeous and clean and quiet. Definitely one of the best places I ever been to. Geeez, and amazing views of gorgeous Costa Rica.
Cons: The only thing was the Raccoons on the roof making noise at night when u trying to sleep but it wasn’t too bad. I would definitely love to go back!
6,0 Good
Pros: The garden
Cons: The design of the room, the food .
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great service with relaxing energies. Pura vida
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful gardens. Quiet Pool. Resident iguanas. Lovely private area on the beach only a short walk down the path.
Cons: Bathroom Towels were definitely on the small size but at least separate pool/beach towels available.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is nice. The rooms and bathroom are in a decent size and are comfortable.. The poo area is very nice and dining in this area is really make you feel good!
Cons: Although we did like the breakfast , dinner was less appealing ( it is half board) for us. The way to the beach of the hotel is quite long ( it is good that they have their “own” beach)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Marion, at the front desk was wonderful! After a surgery, I needed to rest and she made it possible to give me a beautiful room close to the pool, served me dinner in my room and check on me every day.
Cons: Nothing!

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful!
Cons: The only thing was the housekeeping was less than thorough
9,0 Excellent
Cons: Continuous sound coming from the pool area all night long, clicking sound of the vent which made it impossible to turn it on during night time; therefore a minus in comfort
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Food is great, do not need to go elsewhere You have yoga classes, fitness classes Complimentary sunset cocktail
Cons: Tea not organic, could be organic
7,0 Good
Pros: The service was amazing and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly.
Cons: The bed, pillows, and sheets were horrible. It was hard to sleep some nights. The bed was very hard, the pillows were way too big and the only bedding were 2 very thin sheets (no comforter/quilt). Also, the beach at the hotel is very rocky and you can’t swim there. It is about a 15 minute walk down the beach to get to an area that you can swim in.

Pros: On arrival the check In process seemed very disoriented... the room wasn’t particularly clean the bath tub looked like I needed a good scrub. The hair dryer was broken. On the evening the have hotel entertainment but it very noisy and we could here it from our hotel room... I stayed at two other beautiful hotels in Costa Rica that we cheaper and just generally more beautiful and enjoyable. The all inclusive was what you would expect buffet food and cheap alcohol.. the only good thing was one friendly staff member at dinner but as someone who travels a lot I wouldn’t recommend this hotel

Cons: Nothing
7,5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was great. Rooms were clean, location excellent.
Cons: The lady working the front had a can't-be-bothered attitude that was off-putting. I ended up paying more than $150/night and probably could have stayed closer to the beach for that price.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds of the hotel were beautiful gardens. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was delicious.
Cons: Nada! Everything was great.

Cons: ,cvjyfly.f/;.u;/nb?oliyu'oy'/iygh.y.f
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Arco Iris had a great feel to it. The pool is very nice. Richard is a super cool guy and is extremely friendly. We had to leave at 4:00 am to catch our flight and Richard gave us some fruit, muffins, and juice. He offered that up without us even asking. We were very happy with the location. You are just far enough from the noise of the main street, but still able to walk to everything. The beach is maybe a 5 minute walk. There is a walking path from the hotel to a road with tons of great restaurants. If you feel like staying in for a nice meal, they lease their dining space to one of the best restaurants in Tamarindo, Seasons by Shlomy. We traveled to 4 different cities in Costa Rica and this hotel was our favorite by far.
Cons: The air conditioner in our room was kind of weak. It worked a little better at night. We weren't around much during the day so it didn't bother us much.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great
2,0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The place was disgusting, I should had listen to reviews bout rooms not being clean but I gave it the benefit of doubt. First the pillows had hair on them, the towels in the bathroom were like stain with paint or something and worse part is the bathroom smelled like week old sweaty clothes( not exaggerating). There was a shirt hanging on curtains from previous guest. There was a fridge but it didn't work! I left the place, there was no way I could sleep there let alone shower and use those towels. The pics are deceiving and I don't know who reviewed this place but my experience was. Awful!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice facilities
Cons: The beds distribution is not couples friendly. We weren´t allowed to play music and do some noise even before the allowed time of 10 p.m

Pros: I like the place and the service, the manager is so nice and very helpful. The room was very nice with fridge, air conditioning and TV. The pool was clean I would recommend it
Cons: I didn't like that the hotel doesn't have a breakfast service however there are many restaurants around the hotel that offer breakfast a good price
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly staff, good location close to supermarket and the main square/beach. Excellent pool and gardens which all rooms face out on. Only stayed for 1 night as previously at another hotel in the area but wish we had been here the whole time! Bed was very comfortable and rooms well equipped.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The lovely pool, the proximity to beach and restaurants, and the friendly office ladies
Cons: Smoking outside the villas. We liked to sit outside and enjoy the evenings and having a smoker next door was not nice
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant location and a little haven of calm. The pool area was lovely and I saw humming birds and a the resident Iguana. The rooms were large and comfy and a full sized fridge in the room meant peeping breakfast was easy.
Cons: It got busy at the weekends and the tranquility was ruined by people drinking and talking loudly all through the night and kids hitting the pool at 0600. Although a laundry service was widely advertised, when I asked I was told I had to use the ones in town.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all very helpful on quite a number o things!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great room with a huge bed. Nice swimming pool and really useful communal kitchen with coffee machine. Excellent location near beach and shops/restaurants

6,7 Good
Pros: Loved the hotel and staff
Cons: Found room to not be very clean, stains on the blanket so didn’t use it and shower had grime on the floor
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property! The pool and garden are absolutely incredible, the location was amazing, super close to everything in Tamarindo. Breakfast was also fantastic! She even made us to go breakfast on days we had to leave early! Air conditioning was powerful on those hot days!
Cons: The shower pressure was close to nothing but the water was hot. We lost power on several occasions but that wasn’t the hotels fault it was just annoying because they can’t cook when that happens. The cleaning services basically was just him making your bed and mopping the floor. I would’ve like clean towels daily and maybe a sheet change.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It is like a small Italian villa with a lovely courtyard pool. The family managers were great to deal with and the breakfasts were very nice. The location in town is ideal.
Cons: If it were right on the beach that would be fantastic but would be three times as expensive. It was good value for what you got.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It is a great small hotel, near the main downtown. A quiet place to stay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived Walter met us with a smile and helped us with our bags. We stayed at the Hotel Flores for a week, our first trip to Taramindo. We stayed in the small apartment on site. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had a very nice outside sitting area over looking the pool. It was extremely private and quiet!! The breakfast was delicious with lots of great choices. Paulo, the owner, and Walter both get five stars!! Every morning when we were at breakfast Walter slipped into the room and it was all made up by the time we returned!! The location was excellent close to the beach, a tiki bar across the street and a wonderful Italian restaurant next door!! What more could you want?
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The location was great and the hotel is amazing! The staff is super nice. The breakfast was is really good.
Cons: I would add an early breakfast option for people taking tours or buses.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location in town great for walking everywhere. Food on property. Yummy. Pool area beautiful.
Cons: WiFi is spotty but that is so most places we went. It was best out by pool. Room furnished but not upscale. Comfortable. Bathroom basic-not updated.
6,3 Good
Pros: A basic B&B with nice location in Tamarindo. The room was equipped with an effective AC and a fridge. High speed internet available and good car parking. Nice breakfast in the morning and it was always a pleasure to be served by the friendly personnel.
Cons: The cleaning was not OK, especially not in the bathroom. internet was fast but WIFI was poor (swaying). You have to expect that you are in Costa Rica with a lot of wildlife such as birds singing, raccoons fighting and noisy monkeys, all this during night and morning hours.
7,5 Good
Pros: The small pool and gardens were pleasant. The owner takes pride in her hotel and keeps it in good condition. We felt private and safe there.
Cons: We were given free bottles of water without explanation there could be a temporary issue drinking the tap water in Tamarindo due to public sewer work. The hotel is charming and clean but the street is gravel and dusty during windy season.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Very friendly and accommodating host. Great breakfast and coffee to start the day with.

Cons: The bed was hard. Safe didn't work in our room.

Cons: The shower water went from hot to cold multiple times during one shower.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Everything was super nice. The hotel itself was quiet and tranquil, the service was good, the room was clean and spacious for me and my family. Great experience for me and my family.
Cons: Breakfast was poor, tasteless and slow, we sat for 15 min and no service, my brother ordered the pancakes, they were tasteless, the server we got was probably half asleep since she didn’t know what was happening. The bar was left unattended and we craved something but we could not order so we just went down town.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Luna Llena is in a great location. A little bit outside of town but still right next to everything. We were pleasantly surprised by the restaurant for dinner. The pizza, pasta and salads were quite good. We also think the best cocktails of our trip were here - all fresh fruit. Amazing.
9,6 Excellent

10,0 Excellent
Pros: We felt like we had the place to ourselvea.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Pool
Cons: Breakfasts could have been better
9,2 Excellent
Cons: The entrance sign is completely blank. We passed the place three times and finally found it after asking neighbor. This spoiled the first impression. The room and pool were nice. Had to be moved because toilet didn’t flush in first room.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Luna Llena was amazing we were traveling with a 8 month old so we really enjoyed the quiet setting, just a block away from the beach and the main part of Tamarindo, we had a car rented but didnt have to drive unless we left town. Clean rooms and friendly staff we stayed in bungalow 6, it had a loft with two twin beds and the main floor had a king bed with a kitchen and bathroom. Cable TV, we don't speak spanish but was good to have cartoons for the little one. All the rooms are centered around the pool offering food and drinks from noon-3 and 6-9PM. The landscaping was very nice, providing privacy, quiet and just a calm vibe, very relaxing, we enjoyed spending time there.
Cons: Wifi signal was weak in the room, good around the pool. Beds were a little too hard for our liking.

Pros: The location was absolutely fantastic - rooms right on the beach (there is a significant portion which is private for hotel guests only). Rooms were clean, spacious and beds were comfortable. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful (especially the host - Rolando). Would 100% recommend to anyone travelling here.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant at La Palapa used to be one of the best restaurants in Tamarindo in the past, but the menu had changed and the quality of the food has declined. Over the past 10 years, we have stayed here and taken almost all of our meals at the restaurant, but not this time!
Cons: Nothing (except restaurant comments above).
9,0 Excellent

Pros: Location was absolutely fantastic. Easy access to everything. Definitely will stay here again.
Cons: Nothing really.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beachfront access says it all. If you’re looking for luxury not my first choice but not bad. That said, very nice and clean hotel/bungalow to have a romantic stay in.
Cons: Privacy and local hustlers(bird whistles, beads, etc)
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Love the location! On the beach, walk to everything, super friendly staff, best night music is at that restaurant, yet they go quiet early enough, it doesn’t bother sleep. I’d stay there again and recommend it. It does have character, but all in a good way.
Cons: Nada

Cons: Great Location
5,0 Okay
Pros: Location centrally located
Cons: It was under a complete remodel and was noisy and dirty. Not relaxing at all. Breakfast was redundant. Like a holiday inn breakfast but with better fruit.
5,8 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was surprisingly good. They have a full omelette station and plenty of fruit/grain options. The location is also superb as the hotel is centrally located downtown and right off the beach.
Cons: The beds are hard and rooms are not as advertised. Lack of adequate hot water for showers and very noisy throughout.
6,3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Ongoing work, noisy traffic- essentially a mass Public resort, limited privacy
7,7 Good
Pros: The location was great, the facilities were mostly cleaned (except for the one item I'll address in the next section), the staff was fairly helpful and we always felt secure.
Cons: About half of the breakfast items were uncovered so flies were constantly around or on the fruits and pastries. They clearly put a lot of effort into the morning preparation so I don't understand why they would leave so much of it uncovered. The hotel restaurant was pretty bad. The free breakfasts were good (except for the flies) but the lunches and dinners were very poor. The menu looks great but the actual food itself seemed very low quality. Luckily the hotel is surrounded by good restaurants so the poor hotel restaurant was not a huge issue for us.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: It’s amazingly beautiful. And excellent beach access. They were finishing up an out door bar area, that was beautiful. We can’t wait to see it again all finished.
Cons: Not enough ice machines.
8,2 Excellent
Pros: Location, location ,location Food was great
Cons: A/c was very weak even after staff adjusted it. Beds outdated
6,3 Good
Cons: The hotel was under construction the whole time and I had to walk around areas that were unsafe and also fell and wet concrete that was not roped off
9,4 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location, surfing, tour organizing, pools
Cons: Kids club would be great
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Resort was very nice and in a great location. Room was clean and right on the beach. Staff was friendly and very helpful.
Cons: No guests are allowed in rooms.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Loved breakfast
Cons: Rooms are a little small
6,0 Good
Cons: Front desk staff was not friendly and did not try to be accommodating to family traveling together. We had booked two rooms but was given two rooms that were on opposite ends of the resort.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect little oasis in the town of Tamarindo. Off the main road, so quiet, but can be on the main road and at the beach in 1-2 minute walk
Cons: Lush gardens, beautiful pool and well set up for privacy and quiet. Comfortable, clean rooms. Attentive but not in your face staff. Close to everything. Fridge in room
7,9 Good
Pros: Private, oasis feel vs a hotel feel, tropical with a pool in the middle surrounded by individual ‘casitas’ and howler monkeys! Great location - walk everywhere and a very connected front desk who know the right tour operators.
6,0 Good
Pros: Location top, for breakfast best and really great option is burrito, nice garden, good food at bar, hair dryer, big and warm shower, nicely decorated room, nice sitting area in front of the room, kind staff
Cons: Moisture in the room despite aircon use (standard double room), bed not that comfortable (especially for 2 persons), only hotel in Costa Rica within 3 weeks with massive mosquito problem (lots of bites), visible animal poo near pool entrance was not cleaned for 4 hours, too many TV screens in bar/breakfast area (for example showing cancer information commercial), breakfast buffet was taken away while we were still eating/drinking coffee (1 hour before breakfast time was over)
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool. Small size. close to the beach. decent price ($124 for 3 people in Nov, including breakfast) Nice staff.
Cons: breakfast was okay.
7,9 Good
Pros: The staff was really sweet and the location was perfect. The breakfast was really good.
Cons: There were no live bands performing as it stated on the hotel website.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location! Staff very friendly and helpful, especially Randy. Howler monkeys living in the trees above the hotel - no need for an alarm clock :) Pool area very quaint and relaxing. Bar/restaurant on site. Visited several other hotels to visit friends and was very happy with the ambiance and amenities at Hotel Pasatiempo in comparison. Would definitely stay again!
Cons: The door to my unit did not lock smoothly - had trouble with it every time I left or came back to the property. There was something wrong with the flushing mechanism on the toilet when I arrived. Reported it to staff and they were working on having it fixed although this did not happen over the course of my 6 night stay.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The outside pool area was exactly as pictured, very beautiful. The pool chairs were comfortable, and the pool was very refreshing. The beds were amazing, very very comfortable!
Cons: Rooms were a bit on the small side, although my room did have a double and a twin in it. It would have also been nice to have a separate toilet to the shower or sink area so that someone can be showering and someone else can be using the sink space or using the toilet.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were great, off the main road, but only about a hundred yards from the beach......

Pros: Really charming place and really helpful staff. Great value. WOuld go back for sure.
Cons: no complaints

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Ninia is awesome and the staff is so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is awesome at Eat at Joes!
Cons: The walk to town is tough on the street.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was generous. The staff is wonderfully helpful, patient and efficient. Recent rehabbing was done well. Howler monkeys serenading us at dinner - once in a lifetime. Beautifully prepared fresh fish, vegetables and fruit were exceptional and found conveniently at many local restaurants. Taking ECO tours or just walking the beach, Pueblo Dorado was a great home base.
Cons: An ice machine would be a great amenity. Intermittent power outages were annoying and uncomfortable with temperatures in the mid 90's. Not the hotel's fault. But, being in fossil fuel conscious Costa Rica, I would have thought they'd have converted to solar and gotten off the grid.
5,0 Okay
Pros: I like the front desk people Trinidad and the young guy (don't remember his name) that works evening they were amazing
Cons: The cleaning aspect...the woman in charge of the cleaning they don't even clean the bathroom with clorox or any other product they just pass an old towel ob the floor and go to others room with the same cloth without wash it nothing...the results from the time they show you the room when they open the door you can smell bathroom odor pretty bad...i don't care the fact that the place is old and dated but at least keep it clean it!
7,9 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. Ken checked us in and was a good representative for you.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The apartment "presidento"
Cons: The main road and the access to the city.

7,5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was great.

Pros: My wife and i went to Costa Rica on our honeymoon, and we spent our final five days at the Tamarindo Bay Boutique Hotel. We absolutely loved it, hated to leave and can’t wait to come back again. Everything from the location, to the ambiance and decor, and especially the staff, was top notch. We can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Tamarindo.

Pros: Dear Marie, thank you so much for 5 wonderful nights at your hotel. You have a beautiful hotel, your recommondations where to eat, where to have a surfboard and where to find the secret beaches were fantastic.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Marie was the best! Answered all of our questions and handled all of our requests, to include booking dinner and tour reservations. Tamarindo Bay Boutique is a quiet peaceful gem in a bustling neighborhood. We loved the house pups - Lily, Jemima, and Turby!

Pros: Its superclean, the welcoming is very nice, the room is spacious, no outside noise. The pool is amazing, breakfast supergood, all more than fine
Cons: Its expensive, but definitely worth the value

Pros: Quite, clean, great breakfast very friendly staff.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was great and Marie was lovely! We could tell that the property was well looked after and maintained. The service we received was excellent. We were able to rent our a portable cool box and boogie boards free of charge to take down to the beach. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Cons: We were super happy with everything. Tiny downside was that the hotel next door has an outdoor restaurant and was a little noisy, but not past 10pm.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Kevin and the staff were fantastic. From start to end they were so welcoming, helpful, and friendly. The breakfast every morning really started the day out correctly. So good! The rooms are amazing and the whole chill, chic, vibe of the place made for a great complement to the Tamarindo experience. A little oasis from the beach and the town.
Cons: Seeming complaint at first is really a strength; little tricky to get to but the map they provide is immensely helpful. Nice that it's a street or two away from the main strip.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The best accommodation in our trip to Costa Rica. The place is super-cozy. The staff (a special thank to Marie) was attentive and always welcoming with great tips and recommendations for restaurants, tours and other places in Costa Ricato visit. The breakfast was super delicious, especially their homemade cookies. You get everything you need :-) We enjoyed the breakfasts on the terrace soooo much! If you pay attention to the trees you will definitely see an iguana and a squirrel. And yes, there are howler monkeys in the trees sometimes:-) Bonus points for the calm and totally lovely dogs! Go Turbo!!! The perfect retreat - so perfect that we spontaneously decided to stay a few days longer. Highly recommended :-)
Cons: Not one thing not to like!

Pros: Group of 5 enjoyed our stay. Great location to the beach and a nice walk away from restaurants and shops. Beach is fabulous, shallow for so far, nice and Sandy bottom. Great hammock on our lovely wrap deck. Pool is lovely! Some spices in kitchen was really nice. We really liked it!

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet and tranquil area with beautiful lush gardens. Very clean and spacious studio apartment for 2 adults and 2 teenage children. Private pool for small 5 unit gated and secure property. Comfortable bedding with 2 queens and a large comfortable fold out futon. Highly recommend!
Cons: With this location outside of the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo you might consider renting a golf cart since the walk to town is about 15 minutes
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Superb accomodation, very spacious and very well equipped. Loved the huge balcony area. The location is perfect, very quiet area but only 2 minutes from the beach and 15 minute walk along the beach to the centre of the resort. Loved sitting on the balcony in the afternoon and watch the monkeys in the trees.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The view, staff, monkeys...all were amazing.
Cons: Nothing.
7,9 Good
Pros: The best part of the hotel was the location. It was a short walk down a path that lead right to the beach and the beach wasn't crowded at all but then it was in the middle of the week. The hotel was a nice, quiet and small boutique hotel. It had a small pool and a small bbq area but no other amenities. If you are looking to stay at the beach in a quiet secure spot this is your place.
Cons: Lots of ants in kitchen area. We felt rushed to check out of our room by the cleaning person standing in the patio with bucket and cleaning products in hand. Because of this we forgot a very expensive unopened bottle of tequila in the freezer!!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Everything was clean. Kitchen was very nice. Though I was there for 12hrs. Staff was very nice and helpful seeing how we arrived after 9 pm. Private locked gate was nice.
