Hestia Hotel Europa

Centrally located, large room.

I‘d call it the „hotel of least effort“. At first glance everything seems fine, but as soon as you look closer things start falling apart. I can only speak for one room, of course (414), but the first thing I noticed was that the bath tub was not installed, as it were, but was just standing there without being affixed to anything. No silicone insulation to the walls, so the water was just flowing freely to the ground under the bathtub, and consequently to the rest of the bathroom. I don’t even want to imagine how the floor looked like below the tub and how much mold there must‘ve been. The room cleaning is in the category „least effort“ as well. We drank a tea on the first evening, when we returned from sightseeing the following day, the teacup was still where we left it, dirty with the rest of the tea inside. The bed was made haphazardly, one of the large pillows on the ground where we must‘ve left it accidentally before we left the room in the morning. We had some champagne for new years‘ eve the second day, and the same thing that happened with the tea happened with the glasses the next day: still dirty, one having some remainder of champagne inside. Pillows not rearranged on the bed again. Towels were only partially replaced, on the last day we had only one towel remaining, because they took away one of the bath towels but didn’t replace it. I wouldn’t even be OK with this level of service in a hotel for 40 or 50€ per night, not to mention the price level of Hestia. All in all: we will not chose Hestia anymore.

Great location with restaurants, shopping and old town nearby. Decent breakfast, restaurant and facilities too.

Our first room (509) was infested with bed bugs and our second room (518), had a mattress covered in human hair. Moreover, if your staff is going to talk with each other in Estonian, criticising paying guests who are unhappy with dozens of insects crawling on their mattresses, ensure the guests don't speak native Estonian and can understanding everything they are saying...
