Pros: Anton and Mary were great hosts, more than friendly. You can have a chat with them to get recommendations. The breakfast was amazing and fullfilled as we wished to. The room was big and very clean, the bathroom the same. We loved to stay there as it also is a great spot to start visiting Coromandel.

Pros: The views from this B&B were stunningly attractive. Loved the cooked breakfast and outdoor eating area on the deck overlooking beautiful Tairua. Our bed was superbly comfortable.
Cons: Our bedroom and bathroom were a bit airless but we realise that New Zealand has had its hottest and driest summer ever. We slept well, however, after we turned on the electric fan.

Cons: Nothing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This B&B is halfway up an old volcano, Mount Paku. The location was a good base for exploring the Coromandel Peninsular. Our hosts Anton and Mary were a lovely couple offering a warm and friendly welcome. They made us feel right at home and as the other guests had cancelled at the last minute we were the only guests - it felt like we were stopping with friends. Our room was the Queen Room which was a good size with a separate bathroom and its own private entrance. There was also a door separating our rooms from the rest of the house thus offering privacy. Their lounge was available to use and had a 180 degree beautiful view over the bay. Wonderful breakfasts were served inside or out depending on your preference and the weather.
Cons: As the B&B is located on a hillside there was quite a steep entrance to negotiate and park our car, but we soon got the hang of it!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wall welcome with home made cake and tea. Absolutely stunning views, comfy beds and wonderful hosts. Didn’t want to leave!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable room. Fantastic views from the balcony at breakfast. Anton and Mary are very affable hosts. Good restaurants in Tairua. Could investigate all of Coromandel from here.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: everything
Cons: nothing
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts were very enjoyable and helpful and joined us at breakfast for interesting conversations. The view over the town was pretty. Always wanted to stay up in the steep hills. Plus there were steps we could walk right down to the town. A mixed blessing: all the wildlife sounds!
Cons: Totally skip the laundry softener sheets/ liquid. The smell is very annoying and it permeates everything besides being carcinogenic. Traffic sounds filtered up to our room however stopped after 11:00pm.

6,8 Good
Pros: Very friendly and nice staff in the reception.
Cons: Fridge has many mould inside, body of dead insects everywhere on the floor.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The location is beautiful
Cons: Basic kitchen
7,5 Good
Pros: Having been to Tairua/Pauanui/Hahei often, we like the location very much. The standalone cottages are okay - and have the potential to be better with a bit more TLC. The ease of location means you are close to restaurants and proximity to estuary and ocean beach is perfect, esp with bikes. Staff friendly :-)
Cons: Didn't like the triple room set aside for us at all (couldn't see the actual triple room pics on booking.com), disappointed when arriving to the room. Lucky it was low season and we could change to a cottage, wasn't so exited having to pay extra $$s, esp when slow draining shower, some lights not working...small things not quite right. The rooms would benefit from a proper upgrade, hopefully current management will do just that. Felt too much 'run of the mill' and just another family coming thru.
