Pros: Quaint
Cons: Carpet in room is gross.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is gorgeous with beautiful rooms and an overall stunning atmosphere as well as being located in a picturesque little town. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable and provided us with a map of the area that outlined all nearby attractions to help make our trip more enjoyable. I cannot emphasize enough how great the staff was. We only had direct dealings with to front desk ladies but they were beyond wonderful. When a problem arose they went out of their way to make it right. I highly recommend this hotel. It is pricey but well worth the money. I will be staying here every time I go to Vermont.
Cons: The jacuzzi tub hadn't been rinsed properly so when used it became very disgusting. However, the front desk lady immediatly made it right and turned the situation completely around. They took our complaint seriously and sincerely apologized. These things happen so it is understandable and didn't detract from the trip. Also we weren't aware that they place a $60/ night hold on the card presented and it wasn't taken off for about a week after we checked out. Considering the quality of the rooms and the items within I can understand why they do this, but it would have been nice to know beforehand.
7,9 Good
Pros: The Inn was selected for its location and quaintness. Staff was very friendly. Recognize room rates would be high due to season.
Cons: The room was rather small especially for two people. We understand that historic hotels have restrictions but room was cramp with two chairs that really wasn't needed. A small table would have been more useful. There was no real adequate space for loading/unloading of luggage. It rained heavily and had to load/unload in the rain from the parking lot. A small luggage carrier (that fits in the small elevator) would have been nice to help in the loading/unloading to our room.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was beautiful and very comfortable, and every member of staff we spoke to or even saw in the halls was incredibly friendly.
Cons: I thought we would have a queen bed, but it was a double.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: The friendly staff and customer service are second to none. We've stayed in many nice hotels and we've never seen such friendly staff anywhere else. The hotel was wonderful and we'll never stay anywhere else in Stowe!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was excellent and very attentive.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The property was in a beautiful setting and the buildings were amazingly done.
Cons: There weren’t any brochures telling you what was where and what was open . We even asked the concierge what we should do or where we should go and he had NOTHING! I believe we even woke him up! I wouldn’t recommend the breakfast buffet- it was awful!!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The view was amazing. We went on the gondola ride which was fab.
Cons: Restaurant menu was dusappointing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We were here to see the fall foliage and our room had a balcony overlooking hills of spectacular color! Everybody here and the room were amazing! So happy!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Impressive facilty
Cons: no
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff here have always stood out in all aspects compared to all my amazing travel experiences
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The best thing about this hotel was the location with the beautiful view. From our room we could look out the window and see the view of the mountains with the trees in all their beautiful autumn splendor, it was absolutely amazing.
Cons: There are only a few things I didn't like about the hotel. I did not like the height of the bed.... I'm short so I found it very difficult to get in bed, and the blanket was too thick and loud, I don't like bedding that makes a rustling noise.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Its a wonderful lodge and the decor is spectacular. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and food options are great. Proximity to the mountain is perfect. The pool area is spectacular and two big hot tubs is a bonus. My only complaint was the very slow internet! Also it would be nice to be given milk for coffee in the rooms with fridges. Be sure to try the taco truck in the center yard and the crepes at Skinny Pancake were the perfect breakfast.
Cons: Slow internet and excuses for the bad service from the staff.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful resort in a great location! Our studio was well appointed, especially with the heated tile floors. Nice touch!
Cons: Resort fee was definitely too high, in my opinion. Especially for a stay the first of May, when there wasnt much going. It was obviously a slow time!
8,2 Excellent
Pros: The beds are amazing. I don't know what linens they use but they were the most beautiful sheets I've ever slept in. Bathrooms are gorgeous. The pool and resort are quite beautiful and I can't wait to come back in the winter, when I think it will be even more fun.
Cons: Our stay felt slightly like an off-season experience. It was a little quiet but more than that, there was only one bath towel in the bathroom, and lots of empty trays were maybe soaps and things should have been. Also, I placed a room service order and received something completely different when the food arrived, turns out we had an old menu from last year. Finally, I opened the fridge to put things into, and there were 2 containers of takeout left in it. It just seemed like they were short staffed or something. I definitely expected Stowe Mountain Lodge to be on point with details like this and they weren't. Finally, upon check in we didn't receive any information regarding amenities, restaurants, etc. not very welcoming at the front desk, which they need to work on otherwise you get the sense they just want to run your credit card and that's about it. Valet and bell service is outstanding however.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Staff are s really helpful except for the bald guy at the reception. Ladies helped us while bringing the luggage by holding the door for us (I was with my elderly parents who couldn’t help). When we were checking out the bald guy noticed that I was struggling with the luggage and trying to hold the door myself but he couldn’t have been bothered. He said BYE like he couldn’t have been bothered to even ask if I needed help. Except this one thing everything was great and all others were wonderful! Loved the bowling place and the staff was super friendly and nice.
Cons: Only suggestion would be to open the hot tub and pool in the morning and not wait for someone to actually come and request someone to open it 5pm. One thing I definitely hated was the shower. Omg it’s like it’s dripping, definitely need to be changed.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location en-route to ski areas and Smugglers Notch. Broad selection of hot breakfast items and cold cuts. Convenient to town for restaurants and socializing. The property has a grassy area and stream out back which is relaxing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: great location and enjoyed bowling on sunday night
Cons: breakfast room very small
9,4 Excellent
Pros: The front desk man was awesome! And the location was perfect.
Cons: The bowling alley attached was TERRIBLE, the staff acted like we were putting them out by being there even though we’d go in two or three hours before they closed. After the second time we went we gave up, everyone there was super rude.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, great attentive staff, lot to do on property, which was good because we got snowed in. But great area as well.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great and the staff was so friendly and helpful! They also have great property for the pups to run around on.
Cons: You could hear the bowling alley from our room because we were right above the pins...
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Clean and spacious rooms. A little odd with the wash basin outside the actual bathroom in a common area. Frig, hangars and comfy chairs. Beds are Ok, although a little too soft (worn) for my liking. Close to many nearby amenities. Nice rustic atmosphere in town.
Cons: Not enough chairs in the room to accommodate more than two people. While there's a sofa pullout, it can't be used when sitting around a table. The washroom also had a distinctive odour between chlorine and urine. Not overpowering but perceptible. No screen on bathroom window allowing mosquitoes in.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff. Very kind and helpful
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this place so much! Very trendy, very cute, and right in the heart of the most adorable town.

Pros: We loved this little inn! It was perfectly cozy and comfortable for us, and our pup! The staff were friendly and accommodating. Late-check In was super easy to do.
Cons: Can’t blame the property for this, but just a heads up that the entrance to the inn is on a sharp corner. Arriving at night, it was a little hard for us to see the drive. Pulling out if the drive is also very tough.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is our 4th time staying at Hob Knob! It is the best little inn to stay at! Ann and her family ate just the sweetest and they have the cutest pups that greet you when you come in! Always very accommodating and welcoming. We will be staying there again very soon!

Cons: Parking was tough due to being full.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great! Staff was very friendly and attentive. Location was perfect as we were attending a function less than a mile away. A lot of fine restaurants nearby but start early if you don't like to wait to get in.
Cons: Step getting into the building is a little high for a person that is unstable walking. The parking is limited and I was grateful we didn't have to park in the back lot due to the distance from the door to our room. Bed was very firm which limits comfort.
6,7 Good
Pros: Breakfast was fresh and great every morning. For an older place, it was very clean. The innkeepers were nice and personable and the indoor pool area was clean.
Cons: The facility is a bit dated. Our room had a very old mattress that was uneven and slanted to one side. The room itself was old. Bathroom was dated and the fan noise was above average. The carpet was dated, the TV picture quality was blurry. The only thing not dated in the room was the mini fridge.
7,5 Good
Pros: The room was clean as was the pool area. The included breakfast was very good.
Cons: The room was small and very rustic.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: price was good and our expectation weren't high- but from the welcoming - the atmosphere- the design- the cleanness- the breakfast- the indoor pool and sauna - all this made us feel very comfort and as a matter of fact we decided to stay another day.

Pros: Although the service was not as good as my experience two years ago, the new General Manager, Matthew Wheeler is a very astute hospitality professional. I am confident that he will always respond to any issues expressed by guests regarding the resort. It is a lovely property with a great location and has the opportunity to improve its service level with such a seasoned leader. I look forward to returning to Top Notch sometime soon. Thank you for your gracious response and follow-up.
Cons: As stated above, customer service could be improved.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Ideal location to hike Mt. Mansfield, bike the rec trail, explore Stowe or even drive over to Burlington. Really nice to have two excellent restaurants on property.
Cons: I would recommend asking for a room with a view.
7,5 Good
Pros: The rooms were comfortable and lots to do in the area. I would return but just don't eat in the hotel there are lots of good restaurants in the area especially for breakfast
Cons: the food was very average and most of the waiting staff were appalling! Very slow, you could see your food on the pass but they did not bring it to the table until it was cold! The pool service was even slower!
7,9 Good
Pros: Loved the location, so beautifully set in the mountains yet not far from good restauarants. Beautiful pool too, although I didnt use it. I would have like to have some sort of wooded trail out back, for a short hike. Would have been a nice added touch, especially since you're in a wooded area.
Cons: I didnt like that the shower and vanity/mirror are all in one room. Mirror gets steamed up quickly so only one person can be in there at a time. Better when vanity is outide of bathroom or at least somewhat. I suggest you install fans, better than nothing.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Spa facilities
Cons: Shuttle service
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Love Stowe Vermont !! There is so much to do but yet one can relax too!!
Cons: The dining facility was understaffed . Took a long time to get our food both times we ate in the restaurant and they messed up our reservation for dinner so we didn’t have a place to eat on my husbands birthday. They were very nice but definitely could use more staff.

Pros: The room was as represented modern and clean however the jacuzzi did not work!
Cons: The fact that the jacuzzi didn't work and I was looking forward to that and also the fact that they did not tell me that the restaurant was under renovation and therefore we had to eat elsewhere! I felt this was dishonest not to tell ahead before booking!

Pros: Bed was great. Room was rather small but the bathroom was quite large The pub is closed at this time.

Pros: Spacious rooms and very good facilities
Cons: Nothing
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing !!!
Cons: As the accomodation is a bit out of town we arrived to be told that their on site cafe was closed for renovations. Pouring with rain all we wanted was to be able to make a cup of tea/coffee for breakfast “ no milk “ we were told by the MANAGER !! But be could walk next door to buy our own !!! She could not not have been less interested ! Would not even pick up reception phone ( i called three times ) but was on the desk when I arrived to check out early. We had booked two nights at the grey fox but decided to leave after only one due to the total lack of care and interest from the manager.

Pros: The updated room
Cons: The restaurant closed to early and they only served breakfast. The activities on the resort property was not what I expected. For a resort property it was very boring.

7,7 Good
Pros: Location was great outside of town and on the recreation trail. Easy access to town as well as mountain. Was a good location to do fall foliage drives and hiking. Had a good breakfast restaurant with lots of choices.
Cons: Rooms could use an update. Had a strong stale odor / carpet needs to be cleaned or freshened up. Would be an easy fix. Hits you when you walk into the room. Not a deal breaker though to staying again at an overall good hotel.

Pros: Location is nice. Bed comfortable.
Cons: That hotel wouldn’t allow cancellation almost two weeks out without charging for one night. put bad taste in mouth going into stay. Musty smell and stuffy in halls and common areas. Very dated furnishings and decor. Ice machine out of order on 3rd floor so had to go to 1st at back of building for ice.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Size of room Although the rooms are dated they are big clean and functional Location is excellent!
Cons: Dated rooms and no outdoor access from room
7,1 Good
Pros: Our stay was peaceful and quiet. We liked the fireplaces in the public areas. We also enjoyed the afternoon coffee/ tea and cookies and the availability of coffee in the morning.
Cons: There was really not a welcoming feeling. The staff was not very friendly, other than the young men who helped the tour visitors with their luggage. Those visitors seemed to get a lot of attention from everyone, but we may as well have been invisible.
4,2 Okay
Pros: Location.

5,0 Okay
Pros: Location was great, indoor fitness gym (do not have to go outside to get to it), restaurant attached also. Great pillows.
Cons: Was told I can buy a $10 voucher for breakfast but when the time came, the front desk and restaurant had no idea what I was talking about. Fireplace in room made a terrible noise constantly (due to wind in chimney/flue), dated, mattress was worn out.

7,5 Good
Pros: The beds were very comfortable and great and the hot breakfast was great.
Cons: The rooms had a view of the parking lot and no sheer curtain to keep them open during the day - and still keeping your privacy. That meant we had to keep them closed all day long or anyone in the parking lot could see directly into our rooms. Also, the rods kept falling off or made them very hard to open and close. Need sheer curtains under the heavy ones. Also, the hallways could use more use updates with new carpet and panelling. Lots of walls seem to have damage on them from suitcases? The outdoor pathway to rear parking lot was also a little old and not smooth or safe for walking for older adults. Not wide and a lot of curves and valleys in it.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel, clean and excellent breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
7,0 Good
Pros: Their breakfast, which is included, is likely better than others in the area. Also, there is shuttle pick-up to the mountain and other prime locations. The room was cozy and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly.
Cons: The hot tub near the pool was not hot and the breakfast sausage was slimy.
7,1 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: It’s ok
4,0 Okay
Pros: Location (however road work was done outside all night repaving)
Cons: Room was on the 3rd floor not accessible by elevator. It was an attic room with only a skylight that wasn't well sealed. Wouldn't pass fire code in many states. Dining room closed due to a tour bus taking over, the bar was overfilled as a result. Bad
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was accommodating when I asked for a later check out. I had to go to an interview and my mom was having a vertigo attack (which turned out to be a stroke) and the front desk staff allowed us to stay longer which was VERY nice!
7,9 Good
Pros: Nice motel in a good location. Nice to have a bar and a restaurant. Dated 1970's / 80's decor needs update but comfortable. Large free car park. Nice decking overlooking small lake with canoes etc in season. comfortable lounge area with fireplace and TV. Free Coffee station open all night. HYS
Cons: Bar closes early but that's the US generally. Breakfast room big TV on and loud. I found the remote and turned it off. Carpet left with breakfast droppings, paper, scrambled egg etc. should clean as they go not leave it to the end. Good hot food selection but not kept warm.

Pros: Location, location !
Cons: I was very disappointed the hot tub was not in service. This was a key reason for staying there. Another valadez point the sauna had stainless steel screws holding the seat boards down . Not a good choice. They get hot!

Pros: Location and swimming pool
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our room had a large tub and balcony looking over the pond! We were more upset we were not staying longer to enjoy all the amenities that the place offered! We will be back!
7,0 Good
Pros: Nicely renovated rooms you would typically find in a higher star level hotel. Nice breakfast offered. Friendly staff. Nice central lounge. Awesome outdoor pool open even in mid September.
Cons: While clean, the spa needs renovations badly, several areas like the hot tub are quite dated. Hot tub and indoor pool had dirty tile and peeling caulk. Indoor hot tub room in particular needs to be gutted and redone. Several parking areas just dirt lots.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We did not try the breakfast so I cannot comment on that. The room was quite large, very clean and in good repair. My husband used the exercise room and it was fine; he said the indoor pool was really nice.
Cons: We were in the Terrace building and the outside lighting on the road in front of the parking area and the overflow spaces across the road wasn't sufficient when coming back after dark.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely large room with extra big bed and hot tub overlooking pond. Free use of bikes was great. We explored cycle paths and cycled to Ben and jerry factory and the von Trapp lodge. There were excellent restaurants across the road so no need to drive. The pool complex was great too.
Cons: Reception staff seemed frazzled and unwelcoming. We asked for wine glasses but were refused. Had the impression things weren't quite right behind the scenes.
4,2 Okay
Pros: Good location opp two restaurants - open fire in bedroom
Cons: We were located far away from facilities so we did not use them very dark room
4,6 Okay
Pros: Slow, unfriendly, room 5 years past needing updating
Cons: Very aged room, room not ready and employees really did not care. Terrible service

Pros: We liked the little sitting area in front of our room, although the weather wasn’t agreeable to sit out. The room was cute and comfortable, complete with a little kitchenette and table with 2 chairs. We only stayed one night, but would have been a great place to stay for a longer visit.

Pros: It needs updating old furniture. Wallpaper falling apart everything was old..
Cons: They need to update. Great spot they should take better care of rooms. Pride of ownership was not that place.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Large room, friendly staff, no hidden costs
Cons: A bit older, but well maintained.
4,2 Okay
Pros: The buffet breakfast was very good with a variety of options. The chef offered to make other items if you wanted them.
Cons: Room did not meet any of my expectations based on the website description. Room facilities were very outdated. The floor of the room was sloped as if the foundation had sunk. The room was so small the bed was pushed up against the wall and there was still barely room for two people to move around it. Website description stated Waverly fabric bedding and antiques, I expected a quaint relaxing room. What I got was a room that appeared to be an additional haphazardly added to the inn to create additional guest income. Stayed 2 nights, bed was made but glassware and coffee pot were not cleaned or replaced after use the first night. Towels were also not replaced but understood that that may be an environmental consciousness thing. This was a 5 State New England trip and I was most excited about staying at this inn based on description and ratings online. It was by far the most disappointing part of my trip.
5,4 Okay
Pros: WIFI good, Very good breakfast.
Cons: Harshly pitted gravel driveway. Hall rugs the worst I've ever seen Rooms a mixture of some updates but also various damaged surfaces.
6,3 Good
Pros: View, breakfast,

5,8 Okay
Pros: breakfast
Cons: Old and run down. Carpet had what appeared to be pet urine and other stains.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was GREAT!!!
2,5 Mediocre
Pros: Terrible hotel!
Cons: Put in room 1 which is 3ft from the front door and 6ft from the lobby check in desk. There is a lobby bathroom right next to the door as well. You could hear all lobby conversations!! Noisy, terrible bed, room was like a storage room that they tried to convert to a hotel room. Window open & would not close. My husband had to go outside and straddle a stairwell to push the window shut so I could hook it from the inside. We told Gary at the front desk the room was unacceptable & we left first thing in the morning. We were still charged for 2 night stay which we are disputing via our credit card company. This room is nothing like what was presented on the internet & I would not recommend anyone stay here. This hotel should be rated ZERO not the 2.5 the calculation came up with!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Thanks to Mr. Jean Drolet for the upgrade of our room. Highly appreciated!

Cons: One did not know there was NOT an elevator to upper floor, wife has mobility issues. The inn has seen better days, looked old and tired.

Pros: Very very peaceful setting with running creek just outside the bedroom window that lullabied us to sleep. Excellent breakfast in the morning. Inn is made from beautiful woodwork. Friendly Inn keeper. I recommend to others!
Cons: No locks on the bedroom doors from the outside...leave your bags in the room at your own risk. Even the lock on the inside of the bedroom door was pretty iffy.
