The hotel is located in a quiet Street, near to the main viability but protected from the noise and business traffic. The old town is just 10 minutes away on foot. The building is modest but well kept, and it can count on a nice garden for outside dining. The room was comfy and very quiet. Breakfast was nice. Overall cleanliness was fair. Fair price.
The interiors really do need renovation. Furniture and tapestry is old and worn out, the bathroom floor was constantly flooded. The presence of the garden is very agreable, but then the rooms Windows would need some kind of barrier against the many insects.
Great location and the staff were helpful and friendly.
The staff were so wonderful! When we arrived, the receptionist had stepped out for a moment but her father helped us get to our room and gave us a glass of delicious red wine on the house! We felt very taken care of the whole time at Hotel Consul. The young woman at the front desk even called a local restaurant to help us order takeout, explaining our food allergy. Thank you, everyone at Hotel Consul, it was a great place to rest before getting out of Split.
It was clean comfortable, friendly. Very helpful! Breakfast was amazing. Had dinner once also very good!
Some Renovations not yet complete. But overall comfortable and worth the price and would go back
+ Friendly staff. I arrived late but this was not a problem, I informed the property about this and the security guard welcomed me and showed me to my room on arrival. + The bedroom and bathroom were clean. + TV and Aircon worked well.
- Overall, the bedroom furniture, decor and carpets were dated. This hotel needs a bit of a makeover to modernise it. - Due to the dated / old feeling of the bedroom, it feels as though a lot of people have stayed in the room and although the bedroom was clearly clean, the oldness makes it feel a bit "grubby". - Location is quite far from the nice harbour area, definitely need to take a taxi.
