Pros: Pretty hotel but out on its own, nowhere to walk to. Limited food on Sunday. Make sure you put St-Jean-Saverne in satnav as just Saverne takes you miles away!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here before and love it. The hotel is ideally located halfway on our trip to Austria but it is more than that. The hotel has a lovely character, enough guests to make it convivial, nice food and with an aim to please. The village is also very attractive - lovely to walk around. We shall certainly be returning.

Pros: We were cycle touring in the Alsace region and Chez Jean was a perfect overnight stop. The reception was very warm, friendly and helpful. Cons: Nothing

10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was well situated in the town. Very good evening meal in a busy restaurant. Very comfortable bed and very helpful staff.
Cons: Nothing!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely hotel in a lovely and historic town; it delivers all the traditional French Logis approach to accommodation and regional dining without being in any way out of date. Staff were pleasant and efficient and impressively multi lingual. Comfortable room and bed. Excellent wine list and cuisine.
Cons: The shower enclosure while chic and clean had no grab rail. A bit too exciting for us oldies!
6,3 Good
Pros: Comfortable but tired.
Cons: An obvious case of an architect never trying out his/her designs. Movement detector meant that room lighting came on every time a movement was made. Crazy!!!! No proper lighting over bathroom mirror either. Probably won't come back as a result.

Pros: Very tranquil. Pool wasn't heated but in the sun it's ok. Beds were very comfortable. Room very spacious. Distance to centre about 15 - 20 min walk but worth it for being away from crowds. Restaurant is very good note its closed on Sunday.
8,3 Excellent

Cons: Didn’t like the walk up the stairs to the top rooms
9,2 Excellent
Pros: This is a unique hotel, with great character. The restaurant and food is great. This is our third stay at the hotel. The nearby town is excellent, and the hotel is within easy walking distance.
7,5 Good
Pros: Restaurant good and breakfast excellent
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel, in my opinion the best in Saverne and the area. The interiors make you feel as if you moved back in time 100 years. Decorated with attention to the smallest detail. This time my room was small but still comfortable. Good wifi, decent breakfast and above all: the restaurant - the best in town in terms of quality of food and how it is served on the plate. I stayed for 2 nights and had 2 feasts (both for the eyes and for the stomach :).
9,2 Excellent
Pros: This is truly an old villa converted into a hotel. The owners have done an excellent job in trying to maintain the original setup by displaying all sorts of memorabilia in the hotel, referring to the history of the villa. Each room also seem unique in it’s setup and decoration. Very nice outside area.
Cons: Not all the rooms have airconditioning and despite booking AC, one of the rooms did not have it. As it wasn’t too hot we didn’t have issues but still we did not get what we booked. Breakfast was limited in choice. Really surprised to be staying in a hotel in France and not be offered croissants at breakfast.

Cons: Staff could be a bit more friendly, specially the lady who seems to run the place. She seems to not have fun doing her work. She wasn't rude or anything but overall she wasn't very warm or welcoming. Other staff was very friendly. Beds are comfortable, on the soft side.

Cons: It was a hot night - no air-conditioning.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is situated in a very charming French village. It lies in a close proximity to the motorway. The rooms are very cosy, romantic and clean. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We also loved the delicious Easter egg chocolates waiting for us in our rooms and the view from our window onto the church's rooftop which was a home to four stork nests.
Cons: We would appreciate if the menu had an English translation as not everyone in our group spoke French.
