Price and location were well worth the price. No a/c in the room, but the weather was great so it wasn't needed, we just cracked the window to let the air circulate. The bed was comfortable and the shower/bathroom was super clean. Free breakfast and
Rooms still use regular keys to get in and out, and sometimes we had some difficulty unlocking the door and removing the keys from the lock.
The facility was clean. The breakfast was simple but fine. Our family suite was nice in terms of space and accommodations (like good to have a fridge and two sinks, etc.).
Since our family suite faced right out onto Bush Street, the noise level for a family trying to sleep in the night was rough. We awoke a lot each night. Bring a white noise machine. The shower was too low-flow (even for California).
The art was beautiful the elevator was cool.. like from thoroughly modern milly
Only designed for people below 5’8’’.. very dated not great water pressure... the room was very small.
The room was totally black with "gold" lines simulating a gift . The room and bathroom were uncomfortable and old and not all rooms had bathroom. I had to pay more for a room with restroom, when I arrived there( That's why was not good deal). If you wanted to open the window there was a vertical blind that did not work and every time the parts would fall down; it was not enought to cover the sunlight ... totally uncomfortable. They did not have air conditioner, and the last floor of the building was too hot. The breakfast was just "symbolyc".. On the webpage they said that the parking is free, but we had to pay USD $35 per day.
Cracking Location for the hotel as you are a stones throw from Chinatown and it not far to walk to Union Square or a bit further to down to Fishermans Wharf. We really appreciated the fridge in the room as it meant we could keep some cold water, food (or beers!) for the next day. The art work throughout the hotel was a very unique thing. Would've loved to have seen the art in the other rooms, not just our own. Check in process was quick and easy.
We didn't think the breakfast selection was very good. Although its only advertised as "Continental" it's very sparse with some only bread for toasting, cereal bars and microwaveable porridge. Possibly to improve on this would be to add some meat/cheese and some pastries? No Air Con in the room lead to a sweaty sleep, whilst we appreciate that not all hotels offer Air Con, being able to leave a window open would have helped. We weren't able to do this as the window in our room opened onto a flat roof where someone could easily gain access to our room. Also no Safe in the room for valuables.
