The location and the staff were good
Old and not in good conditions. My room was flooded and I had to move. TV was not working at all and not really a breakfast in the morning
I loved the art! This is an excellent hotel for people who are fans of art and architecture. There was a gorgeous mural outside our window.
Our room was cold. We went in early February though so I’m sure that’s not the norm.
Everything was great.
Entrance Door locked after hours
Good central hotel, breakfast limited but ok, quirky with all the differently designed rooms. I had the graffiti room, which I thought was really cool but others might find a bit garish (literally all surfaces decorated with graffiti!)
Be aware that its not the quietest of hotels, owing likely to its age and the noise from the Irish bar downstairs (which did not bother me on the side I was staying up on the 5th floor)
The "value" of the accommodation i proportional to the price: the hotel is rather basic, but the staff is perfect, the location is perfect (quite close to most of important sites in SF). I also liked to have a fridge in the room. Though the breakfast was only very very basic, it was acceptable for me (remember, you have no breakfast in majority of much better & more expensive hotels in SF).
As I already mentioned, the value is proportional to the price. Which means, that the room is rather basic. If you plan to use the hotel mostly only for sleeping, it's fine! Sometimes, I would welcome the temperature is a bit higher. But don't worry, I think it was mostly a bit higher than 20 C (I did not have a thermometer, so it is only a guess) (you cannot affect the regime of the heating, which is on only couple of times per day). During a week I spent there, there very some (I gues two) noisy music late evenings coming from the bar close to the hotel.
