Pros: Lovely house with interesting features
Cons: Our room was a little small
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The welcoming was absolutely superb. Approaching the entrance from the street - admiring the front of the house and having a chat with the host was absolutely nice. The breakfast on the next morning was delicious overall and the recommendation for having dinner in the evening rounded everything up. Thanks for having us. We definitely recommend this hotel.
Cons: The room was a little too small - but it is an old house.

Pros: the very helpful proprietors. Parking and location.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and exceptional staff. Great location. Very nice breakfast. Room was extremely clean and the bed very comfortable.
Cons: Wifi was intermittent. I am told that it was due to a problem outside of the hotel; however, it was unavailable for most of our 24 hr stay.

Pros: Great location within the walls of St Malo. Very friendly and helpful staff - who also provided a very good restaurant recommendation. Good breakfast with home-made jam etc.
Cons: Parking is, as expected, tricky - a narrow drive from a narrow street into an underground car park. However, the staff were extremely helpful with this and it wasn't a problem - and was good to be able to park at all in the centre.

7,9 Good
Pros: Helpful friendly staff, well located, quiet.
Cons: No lift and no shower gel.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: A great place to stay and unusually for us our second visit. Friendly, clean comfortable and great location. Its a family run business and they take the time to ensure it is spotlessly clean and the breakfast is the perfect continental breakfast, great bread, pastries, home made confiture and great coffee. The location is so close to everywhere you want to be in St Malo and with the added bonus of an underground garage for which there is a small fee.
Cons: to pick on anything not to like would be churlish as it is just great as it is.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, perfect location, firm mattress, nice welcome - all the boxes were ticked for us!

6,7 Good
Pros: The bathroom was lovely, new and clean. The continental breakfast was also very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. On our last day staff asked if we wanted to order a taxi from the hotel. We had already decided that we wanted to go to Dinard by bus as it was going to be cheaper to get a taxi from there to the airport. The lady in the hotel arranged for a taxi to pick us up from a location in Dinard which was very much appreciated as when we went to Dinard we did not see a single taxi in sight.
Cons: The lights on the corridor did not come on automatically with movement. It was difficult to find the lights the first time.

Cons:
6,4 Good
Pros: The location of the hotel in the old city, everything in walking distance from good restaurants to the beach.
Cons: Hotel parking was difficult unless you had booked in advance and garages are tight. The one way streets make it hard to locate the hotel unless you have a good map or Sat Nav/GPS. Very small showers, small but fairly comfortable rooms.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Charming style, located right inside the walled city, easy access to everything. Homely atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff, lovely breakfast.

Hôtel Beaufort - Saint-Malo - Building
7
8,9 Excellent (910 reviews)
R1 848+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hôtel Beaufort, you'll be centrally located in Saint-Malo, within a 5-minute drive of St. Malo Citadel and St. Vincent Cathedral. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, a safe deposit box at the front desk, and an elevator.
7,9 Good
Pros: Very modern and clean, and very nice staff. The location is a bit off from the old town, but it's very nice located just by the waterfront. We stayed in two different rooms. The first one with a terrace towards the sea (but with the boardwalk just outside, on the same level). The other one was a family room in two levels, which was quite big and very modern and nice, but a bit inconvenient, with all the running in the stairs (on the first level was the master bedroom and the toilet, and downstairs there were two separate beds and the shower room).
Cons: It took about 15 to 20 minutes to walk to old town, and when the water was high it splashed over on to the pavement - although it's a very beautiful walk (the first time). The wifi did almost only work around the lobby.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Most beautiful spot and view in town

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hosts of this hotel - very kind and helpful. Room was beautiful, thoughtful decoration, 5 min walk to the beach, grocery store over the street.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely comfortable and beautiful surroundings Very delicious breakfast
Cons: No guaranteed parking in the car park, we had deliberately booked somewhere with parking as had bikes on the car, actually we got a space so it was fine, but would have been difficult if it was full
10,0 Excellent
Pros: everything
10,0 Excellent
Pros: So friendly, clean and comfortable. The area is gorgeous - 8 lovely beaches to walk and swim.
7,5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Location is ideal for coastal walks and access to St Malo for the day.
Cons: lack of access to the main breakfast area in the evening. Would benefit to have microwaves in the kitchenette. The shop should be more separated from the breakfast area as it does feel a bit like eating in a shop with everything around you for sale.
2,9 Mediocre
Pros: It was nicely styled
Cons: Vastly overpriced. Many parts in our room were broken: the door handle was hanging off. Bits of the room kitchen left on top of cupboards. The kids sofa bed collapsed and the shower didn’t drain properly. The breakfast was basically small amounts of crepe, bread and a cup of coffee - when we asked for more it was refused.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location.
Cons: Paper cups in room not very environmentally friendly. Ceramic would be more in keeping with rest of establishment.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, very comfortable beds.
Cons: Supply of face towels would be nice. Hairdryer not working. First floor unit that we were placed in too close to street level.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect, our room far exceeded our expectations but most of all the staff were really first class. This is probably the best hotel we've ever stayed at and will be going back again next spring.
Cons: There is no restaurant on site although "Chez Henry" is across the road (20 yards) and is first class. Breakfast at the hotel was more than acceptable.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded to a suite which was fantastic and we thank the Oceania very much. Great view, great room. No restaurant - not an issue and the bar was closed through sickness of staff but breakfast was fine. Secure underground parking was perfect. We would stay again.
Cons: A minor point but at breakfast although tables were cleared fairly quickly where guests had made a mess on the floor this was left which meant you had to walk through it, which we decided not to do. It would have been better if this had been cleared up.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, facilities, pool and jacuzzi
Cons: Nothing to dislike
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is perfectly situated to explore the old town of St Malo and/or to enjoy the long stretch of beaches.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Always stay here when on the early boat. Always very happy with everything.
Cons: It would be good if there was more choice on bar snacks/ meal.
7,9 Good
Pros: Location and quality was great,
Cons: When several staff members are at the reception, you expect checking in guests would be their number one priority.
7,1 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Room was with car parking view. No free parking places were in hotel parking, despite booking in advance.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were marvellous. We were allowed an early checkin from the ferry and when we were caught in snow storms they were able to be flexible with the check out too. The location was perfect for the centre of St Malo and there were excellent restuarants nearby.
Cons: Everything was fantastic.
7,3 Good
Pros: Nice place with a smashing view of the beach. Great shower! Easy walk to the wall city, with all it’s great places to eat, meant that it was not a problem the hotel did not have a restaurant.
Cons: Very tight car park, although very secure if can get in! (We had a Land Rover). No opportunity to make tea or coffee in the room
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff allowed us to leave our bags early in the day. Beautiful sea view. Stylish room/bathroom. Fantastic position by the beach but only a short walk into town.
7,3 Good
Pros: I love the design of the hotel, clean and comfortable, modern and so near to the beach, lovely view from the window..seperate toilet and bathroom...a plus....most amazing hotel i've ever stayed in, of course, st malo is a beautiful place..will definitely stay there again...
7,3 Good
Pros: We thought the bedroom was really well decorated and well presented. It had all amenities and had been really well thought out. It was probably the most comfortable room we stayed in during our 2 week holiday in France. It was also good having a secure garage.
Cons: The only think we had hoped for was to have dinner on the evening that we arrived as we did not feel much like walking too far but unfortunately, the hotel didn't have a restaurant. The barmaid suggested a sea food restaurant in the walled city which wasn't very good.
5,7 Okay
Pros:
Cons: I found the price too high particularly as everything had to be paid for in addition to the room price
7,6 Good
Pros: Wonderful shower arrangementsnand decor. The best I have ever seen in any hotel. I also admired proper reading lights well placed by the bed - very rare.
Cons:
6,0 Good
Pros: The location close to the walls of St Malo and the beautiful view when we were eventually allocated the correct room
Cons:
4,8 Okay
Pros: Room was well appointed and furnished. Shower room was good. Location was good
Cons: Breakfast we disappointing. Food choice was limited. Cpmplimentray champage that was offered as partvof the package was denied because the bar staff was not available and " I should have demanded it on arrival". Blame was passed to me and the hotel staff were adamant that it could not be sorted.
6,4 Good
Pros: It does what it says on the tin
Cons: Tea/Coffee making facilities would be nice. Garage parking is restricted and expensive

Cons: N/a
7,9 Good
Pros: Breakfast good
Cons: Did get parking space but could have been a probkem
5,8 Okay
Pros: The staff were quite friendly & helpful. The view from the breakfast room was lovely - facing the beach, and the breakfast was good. The overall feel of the hotel was nice but let down by a few factors detailed below.
Cons: The rooms are very small and poorly designed - whilst there is just about adequate space for your belongings, there is hardly any space to move about. There was a fan but even though the temperatures were not high, this was not efficient. Do not stay here if there is a heatwave! There is a terrace bar/ function facility on the roof but this was never open so we couldn't take advantage. The one night it opened was because of a private function - our room was right below it so because of the noise we got little sleep.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Oceanview from the breakfastroom. On walking distant to the old city. Smooth parking nearby. Nice breakfast. Beautiful old building.
Cons: The room was tiny.

Pros: Excellent breakfast, wonderful attention from staff and host.
Cons: I hoped for tissues, shower cap, soap. But I was OK without them.
3,0 Mediocre
Pros: Did not have breakfast.
Cons: To say you would not swing a cat in the room would be an understatement,The room did not have a kettle or even a cup or a glass to drink from, also the front door was locked as early as10.30 pm with no one at reception. I feared for our safety in the event of fire with no smoke. alarm in the room and only one way out was down the main stairs towards reception. This hotel was certainly poor value for the money we payed.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location inside the old fortress of St. Malo is just fabulous. There are shops and restaurants in this concentrated area, plus you can walk all around on the ramparts.
Cons: There wasn’t a single thing.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Love the ambiance of the place, view of the sea from the little balcony, lunch was delicious and staff are super.
Cons: Not the fault of hotel but our room was on the second floor and spiral stairs are a bit dodgy for overweight grey panthers! The lady on reception did offer to have our bags taken up and we foolishly said we’d be fine. Next time ( and there will be a next time) we will accept help.

Cons: The room was very compact. We were only staying one night so it was fine but it was quite small. Likewise the bathroom was very small. Given the location this is probably not surprising but if you are staying a few days might be an issue.
6,7 Good
Pros: Very nice location in the heart of Saint Malo.
Cons: Very disappointed concerning staff, I asked help for parking and did not get satisfying answer except: come to see us and then I would explain (and I am French...).
7,0 Good
Pros: The location was right in the city. It made for easy city touring.
Cons: Three stair flights and a phone booth sized elevator made transporting luggage difficult. City street drunks and late night partiers made sleep problematic.
7,0 Good
Pros: This is a small hotel in the heart of the old town (Intra Muros). Communication with the staff was easy and they were friendly and helpful almost to the extreme. Gave us a recommendation to a restaurant that was spot on. It was a pleasure dealing with them and I rate them very highly. The rooms were clean when we booked in, and just as clean when we returned from our escapades. Water pressure was very good in the shower. The breakfast was adequate, but not outstanding, but we ate well.
Cons: Smallest lift I have ever seen or been in! Shower is very small, but we have been in smaller. Rooms are also small, but it did not really bother us.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Really close to the centre.
Cons: Nothing
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located within the ramparts. Nice little cafe/bar. Secure parking available, but at a price and located a few streets away from the hotel itself.
Cons: A very small lift, barely big enough to fit your bags, let alone 1 person, making access to the upper floors for the elderly or less fleet of foot!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Cramped space, tiny elevator not even large enough for one person with a suitcase, slightly shabby furniture
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful friendly staff Great position

Pros: Central location in old town. Pleasant staff. Spacious room.
Cons: Bed too near wall for comfortable access. No soap until request made (sorted quickly). Hit and miss parking. No lift and steep stairs.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded on arrival to room 1 on the top floor which offers marvelous views over the bay of St Malo. Bedding was immaculate white and rooms were impeccably clean. Shower was good. We loved the hospitality of the family that runs this place. Can’t wait to go back!
Cons: Nothing really. There is no lift but it wasn’t a problem for us.
7,5 Good
Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful. Kettle in room ( but needs some milk for us brits and our breakfast tea). Location is very good and pretty.
Cons: WiFi was terrible. €10 pp for breakfast anywhere is a rip off (didn't have it but even a full English has to be amazing for that). Bit awkward that 2nd floor room window is level with the walls and people walking past but that's historic buildings for you so can't be helped and you get a great view other than this.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great location - within the walls, but not in the noisy part. The owners and staff were all great - good advice re what to do, where to go etc - most helpful! Good breakfast for €10 too.
Cons: I personally don’t like foam mattresses - just too hot for me!!!!
7,9 Good
Pros: Very pleasant hostess, excellent location. Good breakfast given that it’s quite a small place.
Cons: Room s bit cramped and painted mostly brown, a bit dreary. No staff in the evening, don’t actually remember if we had an emergency number.

Pros: Very centrally located in the old town of St Malo. We did not opt for breakfast so cannot comment on that,
Cons: Sold room with a Seaview, but didn't get one.,

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful 18th century malouiniere -- look it up if you don't know what that is -- history is important to us! It felt like being a guest in a luxurious mansion back in the 18th century, yet with all modern conveniences. Very quiet and tasteful. Lovely garden. Beautiful staircases. No lift, but that was fine as we are able-bodied people.
Cons: I would have liked more cheese for breakfast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, we were in St Malo for a wedding and they kindly allowed us to change shortly after booking out. Breakfast was fresh and had every good choice.
Cons: Nothing
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We were served breakfast in our room, having made our choices on arrival the previous day. The quality was excellent. It was a pity we had to rush it to get to the ferry terminal on time. The bed was very comfortable. There was a separate toilet and bathroom. There was a private car park.
Cons: Breakfast was not available till 8:30. Although it was a Sunday, a little earlier would have been better. Parking near the hotel before we had checked in and obtained a key to the parking gates was challenging.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely garden. Hotel in great position for the ferry port and local restaurants.

Pros: The room was superb. Wonderful outlook. Nice things you don't usually find ie nightly turn down, Continuous low light in toilet, ample storage and much else. Very helpful reception staff
Cons: Would have given 10 out of ten but for dinner on the last night, Sunday 1st September. Having booked a table for 2 at 7.15 we arrived promptly only to sit for 40 minutes before anyone cane near. Eventually I had to call for service and request a drink. There were plenty of staff but all seemed to be running round like headless chickens. There did not appear anyone was in charge. Certainly no maitre D. Food when it came was OK but being artistic seemed to be more important than good wholesome food. Although it was a Sunday, I do not accept that as an excuse.

6,7 Good
Pros: Right on the beach, 5 stars service
Cons: Very old fashioned : decoration, small rooms, bathroom. Certainly better when you do a thalasso. If not I imagine that there is better place to stay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Splendid
5,8 Okay
Pros: Excellent location direct at the beach and not far from old down town of Saint-Malo. The staff from outside terasse restaurant was worth for a five star hotel and the menues what you can get are really good especially the dessert.
Cons: The price for a so called „Grand Large“ double room of 31sqm and seaside view is extremely high. Especially because the room was much smaller than 31sqm. Servive was just so so. We stayed 5 nights and had to ask 3 days to refill the Nespresso capsules one time no fresh towels and in general the hotel staff was not really caring. In general for me this was all in all far below what I am expecting and already got from a five star hotel. We will come back to Saint-Malo, but not again to that hotel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The property met all necessary expectations on a 5 stars, room, infrastructure. Restaurants and amenities - very large Spa area with many treatments, room with terra e and view to the see was great
Cons: I don’t appreciate that guests can go to the breakfast at restaurant in their bathrobes, not healthy, this is not the living room of your house
9,6 Excellent
Pros: lovely hotel and food in the restaurant was very good. Staff are fab!
Cons: having paid over £400 for one nights stay then being charged £50 for entrance to the spa. overpriced and not worth it. stay elsewhere and still pay the 50 spa fee if that's why your going
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The hotels location directly on the beach is magnificent. Arrival by car was incredibly easy as it was quickly whisked away by valet parking (at no extra cost) and was equally quickly available on request.
Cons: Many of the spa services ... such as access to the on-site thermal pools... was at additional cost which, given the high price of the hotel to begin with, seemed ridiculous.
7,9 Good
Pros: The view
Cons: We didn’t see the bill after our meals. We had no idea what we were spending!!

7,9 Good
Pros: The hotel was clean and well presented and in quite a nice location. The room was a good size and the decor nice.
Cons: Would have been nice to have had tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Even humble Travel Lodge in the UK have that. Not a lot to expect. A sea view would have been nice, but I guess that would have cost a lot more.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is well placed opposite the beach, with an easy stroll into the walled town of St Malo, or a stroll along the Sillon, beside the wide beach, and sometimes the crashing waves. There are good restaurants in St Malo town or a short walk away in the direction of Parame. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed and very clean, with a good view of the beach.
