Rotorua hostels

Pros: The location was great!! Our room was very nice, but unfortunately not the bathroom. The hotel also had a big shared kitchen which was handy! The pool was nice, but the mineral pools needed a lot of maintenance.

Cons: Out bathroom in our room was very small and the shower was tiny. There was even mould on our toilet paper holder

Cons: Very average room for the price charged, run down and cleanliness not up to standard. No plugs in the bathroom either.

Pros: Clean room and reasonable price

Cons: Terrible pool area, didn’t even want to use it. Also the whole exterior was very tired and in need of a whole makeover. Also some permanent residents made us feel uncomfortable, especially with gang tattoos!

Pros: T.v worked

Cons: Door handles falling off, rubbish left from previous guests, thermal pool over heated, dirty washing from previous guests, incorrect information in guest book, no warning about being woken up early by construction workers right outside of room and then blocked in by them.

Pros: It had all the necessities in the room.

Cons: Cleanliness was below standard.

Pros: I liked the location of the property, easy to get to the central area by foot or car.

Cons: The room was dusty, window broken, light broken (didn’t work and glass broken), walls were so thin I could hear people talking and moving outside of my room No.14 in the corridor. This room is located in a terrible position right next to the stairs, and next to the cleaners storage area which is up another slot of 5 steps... therefore every time they brought something down from that room they dragged it down the stairs and all I heard in the morning was that banging on every step and them talking outside in the corridor in front of my door. The floors and swinging door outside my bedroom were also very creaky therefore woke me up in the morning when people walked past my room. I could also hear every single person that walked outside my room “outside” where my deck was, glass is thing and window broken so slightly ajar. The first night I stayed the hot water also stopped working so I couldn’t shower! No cutlery in the guest kitchen. Customer service was average and the people didn’t seem to like their job. One morning cleaners came in at 10am to clean my room, obviously I was still in bed asleep! Please be mindful of your guests and maybe come clean rooms around midday when people have left for the day to explore the town.

Pros: Staff were good, price was good.

Cons: Very run down, could be nice if it was done up.

Pros: I really liked the mineral spa and heated pool. There's also a nicely appointed breakfast restaurant that explains the legend of four canoes.

Cons: The infrastructure of the motel is getting old but they seem to be doing renovations in stages.I
