What are the pros of staying at Campanile Rodez?
Lovely staff, food surprisingly good. Very nice restaurant and staff. Good quality of food served. Clean and easy to find. Great location for travelling. Lovely gardens, room very clean and comfortable. Easy parking. It did what we needed. Easy to find, comfortable beds, opposite fantastic charcuterie that served their food hot if you wanted, eat in or take away. There is a restaurant there, food looked good and reasonably priced. Clean, comfortable and very convenient overnight stop. Worth taking the short ride, as a biker, to the old centre of town to see the Cathedral and return to the Campanile for food and a beer. The staff were lovely. Everything you need. There is a Restaurant located in the hotel so no need to walk or drive to eat when travelling. The gentleman on reception when we arrived was very helpful. Out of town location. Quiet area with on-site parking. Very easy to find without satnav. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location for one night stopover on motorcycle trip. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
What are the cons of staying at Campanile Rodez?
Toilet seat was damaged. Difficult concrete spiral stairs to room. Easy to get around Rodez. Very noisy people arriving in the middle of the night poor sound isolation between the rooms. Very noisy small parking places. Service for dinner in restaurant started well but then stopped as things got busier. Had to ask for dessert menu which wasn't well received. Room very small. Shower awful water flooded the floor. Toilet roll holder couldn’t get paper out. The restaurant was busy but there were not enough staff so service was slow. The stairs and patchy lighting. The bath was very slippery when wet, a bath/shower mat would have been good. We booked it as 'having a balcony' but it was just the outdoor corridor between the upper floor rooms! The shower is impossible to use. So old fashioned and I had a very nasty fall trying to get out as no handrails shower mat far too small. I was very shaken up and will not be using Campanile again. Old fashioned, lack of electric sockets and poor access for disabled people. We have used Campanile for 20 plus years and they have not changed. Food is expensive and poorer quality than 2 years ago. Very sad to give poor report but other hotel chains have moved with the times. Noisy bed. The layout of the room with the bed being against the wall making it difficult for one of us to get out of bed. The coffee making facilities had three bases with just one kettle but only one kettle. It took up a lot of space over bath shower was poor. Hotel announced that the restaurant was not going to be open on the day of arrival and therefore had to find an alternative. Room was small but acceptable. The room was adequate. The shower was very inadequate and dated and very difficult to get in and out of. The USB port didn't work and there was no plug by the bed. There was nowhere to put a bottle of water by the bed. The staff were overworked and not enough. The evening meal was adequate but not good quality and it was expensive. The breakfast system was inadequate as the member of staff dishing out breakfast was also taking phone calls and placing food orders. Very poor as we were waiting too long. Inadequate number of staff on duty. The Wi-Fi system did not work at all in our room which was very frustrating.
