9,6 Excellent
Pros: Central location, huge comfortable bedroom, interesting decoration. Croissants could have been more flakey and plus cuit, nice fresh salade de fruits
Cons: breakfast tea in bedroom and some milk for tea.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The host speaks English well and she was kind. There was no lift but the host put my heavy luggage to the room at the 4th fl. It was very convenient that I could put the luggage in the early morning. It helped my family to move the way to the travel without baggage.
Cons: There was no shower curtain at the bathtub. So need to be very much careful when you do shower.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Unique building with real character, modern conveniences tastefully inserted into this historic building. Marion as helpful and friendly as ever. The location couldn’t be better in the heart of Rennes
Cons: Lack of stand up shower over the bath
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Full of character - amazing old building yet good facilities and an excellent host. Room opened onto a terrace, snacks available in fridge all day :-) Host arranged secure parking which is away from the accommodation but worked well for us. Just plan your arrival time.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Uau! Just uau! The most charming building and appartment I ´ve ever seen in my life! Stunning style, incredibly willing and nice lady Marion, exceptional scent of old ages. Thank you for all your support and help and beautiful 3 days and nights!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very quirky and clearly a work of passion
Cons: Stairs But then its an ancient building
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This little jewel sits right in the heart of Rennes. The age of the property, the facilities, were excellent. As a middle aged couple from Britain, we wanted to learn more about the french language and the culture and we were not disappointed. Marion our hostess, was impeccable, courteous and friendly and she was the bridge for us that allowed a smooth and accessible experience to Rennes. We dined out every night, but especially at the best restaurant (in our opinion!) in Rennes: Le Tire Bouchon, which is opposite in the square. They cater for customers within the working week and close at the weekend. The hospitality & victuals were amazing. We made a real effort to expand our GCE (Yes, not GCSE!) French and 'had a go'. Marion, The Marnie et Mr H and Le Tire Bouchon made all that so fulfilling. Try this place - you won't be disappointed. PS thank you Marion!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast quirkiness
Cons: Towels not changed
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely gorgeous appartment, so beautifully furnished and a view from every window! Thank you Marion for such a warm welcome and a royal breakfast! We'll be back for sure.
Cons: Nothing, everything was wonderful!

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good and the location is excellent, being so central. The staff are friendly and helpful. The way the building is kitted out is great - interesting, original and makes you want to explore.
Cons: Might be useful to have something on the website about parking - or maybe we missed it.
4,2 Okay
Pros: Overated
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast in large communal room/kitchen downstairs. Atmosphere and friendliness of staff. The manager, Matthieu was very helpful to us because my wife needed to see a doctor. He arranged an appointment for her. His concern for our situation was just wonderful. Would reccomend without hesitation. Hotel is modern in an old building.
Cons: This is a quirky boutique hotel with each room different. We had the largest room which was on 2 levels with the bedroom upstairs. There is not much hanging space and if you are staying for a few days there is not a lot of places to put stuff. Like many hotels in France it is not air conditioned. Normally this would not be a problem in this part of the world however there was an abnormal heat wave during our stay and sleeping was uncomfortable. Some rooms are quite small.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very original location with a really professional and friendly staff. The place is new and clean. Great place!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: ideal central location. Pay parking nearby. Very quiet despite being so central, away from traffic routes.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Bed very comfy and lovely room. Son really loved playing drums in music room... one of the reasons I booked it
Cons: No air conditioning in room and a very hot night meant a disturbed sleep, also bath and shower head set up was a bit dangerous for us oldies, had a couple of close calls there getting in/out
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place, big bright clean rooms near to city center. Only a few steps to immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere of Rennes. Breakfast is highly recommended!
Cons: Perfect stay!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Location great for the city centre. Comfortable bed and good breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere and value for money at the weekend.
Cons: Overly complicated audio visual system, 4 controllers to watch tv! A bit too trendy and short on comfort.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: It's quirky. Relaxed and fun. Breakfast was good (pay separately for this).
Cons: Room was small, with little space to store things. We saw other rooms which were bigger so I guess that's just the way it goes.

7,1 Good
Pros: We stayed in a three persons studio. We think this is quiet small for three persons. Its all very small. But overall it was sufficient and we had all we needed. The breakfast was nice priced and had a lot of choice. Friendly helpfull staff. We did reserve the car park (there only 2) it was just around the corner. The studio was located at the second floor, no elevator.. Tip; on sundays a lot of restaurants are closed. Use your Google to check. On saturday we had diner at Wok Forever, just five minutes walk. Excellent
Cons: Nothing special but compared by other places we stayed this was ok, not more not less

2,5 Mediocre
Pros: All the good things about this hotel were completely wiped out because staff wrongly refused us parking and for all the wrong reasons.
Cons: We booked through booking.com for a 2-night stay, and informed the hotel in advance that we needed car parking space in the hotel. We knew the height limit of the car park was 2m, and our car was just under 2m, but when we got to the hotel we were told we could not park as our car was over the height limit of 2m. I explained that was not the case, and that it would fit with no problem, but staff insisted it was not possible. So we had to park on the street, and pay, but worst of all the maximum stay permitted was just 5 hours, forcing us to return to the car in the middle of the day to remove it. We had to abandon our plans to visit Rennes. The next day I again insisted that our car was not too large for the car park, and the different receptionist allowed us to try and drive in. We did so, and there was no problem at all. Very disappointed that this hotel spoilt our stay in Rennes, by refusing to honour our advance reservation of a car parking space. All the good things about this hotel were completely wiped out because staff wrongly refused us parking and for all the wrong reasons.

Pros: Loved the friendly and helpful staff, their recommendations about local restaurants or shops. The location is perfect for people who use the train (just a few steps away from the station, although you don't hear much noise from trains and traffic).
Cons: We stayed twice, and the first room was a tad too small (not enough space to leave our luggage open and still be able to move through the room). Plus, it had a slight smell of cold ashtray... The second room, however, was bigger and cleaner.

It was lovely that there were complementary nibbles available to have with our drinks. Breakfast was great - especially the freshly squeezed orange juice! Our room was lovely and the bed was great.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast menu and choice.
Cons: Very little coffee and milk in room (only one small cup each and only one milk) and ONE pack of tiny gallettes (in Rennes?) Did not like the tablet of old-fashioned soap in the bathroom (much too messy!)
9,2 Excellent
Pros: For a city centre hotel this was extremely easy to find, well signposted from major roads. The parking, while limited, was directly next to/beneath the hotel with a lift to bedrooms and reception. The hotel itself was close to, but not on, major roads making it a quieter yet convenient place to stay. The breakfast exceeded expectations.

Hotel De La Ta - Rennes - Building
11
8,4 Excellent (961 reviews)
R1 104+
6,7 Good
Cons: There was a building problem with the bathroom, in that it the door became blocked by a poorly fitted basin draw which slipped open once the door was closed and as a result I was unable to enter my own bathroom. When I bought this to the attention of the manager, he considered it was me that caused the problem and offered me no alternative bathroom so had a whole day without a shower or unable to wash. Considering it was his builders error he handled the situation extremely poorly so I would never return to that hotel which was a shame as the hotel looked good from the outside and was clean with pleasant rooms and views. The manager needs to go for me to stay there again.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Good location and good value
Cons: Room very warm
6,3 Good
Pros: Matress really comfy
Cons: Miss blankets
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient location. Excellent buffet breakfast. Overall good value.
Cons: Tea/coffee facilities available in room
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very cool room with great view and location
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location of this property. My room and bed were very comfortable and it was very quiet even though my window opened to the street.
Cons: The only difficulty for me was getting into the door from the street. It appeared to be locked until 3:30 in the afternoon. The cafe owner next door told me it wasn’t, that I had to push hard but I was never able to get in. I was able to pass thru their cafe the 2 times I needed to. After 3:30 it was clearly open and easy to get upstairs.
6,3 Good
Pros: Nice to be in a non-chain hotel in a building with character. Good location and friendly service.
Cons: The “automatic” electric toilet, whilst entirely functional, was a bit strange.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Our room was attractive and comfortable.
Cons: Location was a bit longer walk to the sites we wanted to visit.
7,1 Good
Cons: It’s cheap but something important also needed;there is no drinking water provided.
Chambres de Condate - Rennes - Bedroom
12
8,4 Excellent (151 reviews)
R1 472+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Chambres de Condate, you'll be centrally located in Rennes, within a 5-minute drive of Thabor Botanic Gardens and Parliament of Brittany. Featured amenities include express check-out, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice airy room and very quite. No traffic noise but close to everything if you are happy to walk.
Cons: Breakfast was not good. Very limited, no fruit. One slice of toast, no croissant, a very small portion of jam and served inside rather than in the garden.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Chambres de Condate was clean, convenient, and well-attended. The host was gracious and quite accommodating. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The host was generous in allowing us to utilize her backyard patio to disassemble our cycles and package them in suitcases appropriate for travel prior to the official check in time. As the room was up a flight of stairs the proprietor allowed us to store our package bicycles in a secure area on the first floor. The Chambres de Condate is approximately two blocks from the main train station with easy access to the departure gate level. Good value!
Cons: There was nothing we didn't like other than the price. We are cyclists and the rate was higher than we normally paid in the Britney area. However the proximity to the main train station and the fact that it was central to the city of Rennes justified the higher rate.
7,9 Good
Pros: The room was a good size and there was parking in the street opposite. Rennes has a lovely historical quarter but it’s about 20 minutes walk from the property.
Cons: The walk in to town through semi building sites.
8,8 Excellent
Cons: We would have liked at least one TV channel in English
7,1 Good
Pros: The location was fine if you need to stay in Rennes. Personally, I'd stay in a smaller town such as Vitre if for 2-3 nights, doing it over again. Parking was free but the curb was tough on a small car (Fiat 500). Breakfast was fine as advertised, as was the internet. Additional pillows are available if asked for; we stayed 3 nights and the room not cleaned or trashed picked up unless we asked for it.
Cons: Attention to room cleanliness and bathroom.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: I liked the building. Traditional on the outside and renovated internally. The owner and her husband are warm and friendly, kind and caring.
Cons: There were no down sides except for the weary traveller ‘down town’ was a bit too far away.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Not too far from the train station in a very quiet area
Cons: Very welcoming and lovely owners of the property is very helpful with information of the area
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Enormous loft room, loved it. Free parking outside, lovely friendly couple, really welcoming. Kettle in the room a great bonus as so many French hoteliers don't provide one.
Cons: A fridge in the room would have been great. Breakfast lovely but so little offered, cereals and fruit would have been a nice edition. Quite a long walk to town, lots of one ways near hotel and although parking was free it involved having to get our hire car up the kerb, no drop down slope, the owners should really sort that out.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Room was large and airy. 20 mins walk to town centre.
Cons: Room needed complete refurbishment and clean. Access up narrow winding stairs difficult to carry cases up. Breakfast miserable - no cereal, yoghurt, fruit or cold meats or croissants.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very warm hosts in a cozy B&B.

Cons: Rooms could be a bit bigger.
7,9 Good
Pros: The first hotel I have stayed in to feature electrical wall sockets with usb outlets,a very welcome development.Moving around the building there is evidence of somebody taking trouble to add interesting decorations in all sorts of places.Great value stay.
Cons: The noise level was rather high both from external and internal sources.I got rather concerned when the tiny lift lost it's lights and the illuminated control buttons went dark. After a few moments it came back but the door was still very sluggish;after this experience I used the stairs.
6,3 Good
Pros: Next to public transportation
Cons: Not even a bottle of water ! No beer at the bar (in fact nobody at the bar)
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very nice and fancy. The bar, reception desk and hall are like real small museum! The little lift is very unique. It's quiet, atmospheric place and our room was tidy and clean. There is 2 km distance to the centre but you can go on foot there, you don't need to get a bus.
Cons: It's no car park there.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Superb breakfast, very high quality food, good variety, ample choice and quantity, value pricing.
Cons: Room and bathroom very small, but spotlessly clean and very comfortable bed.
6,3 Good
Pros: Very 'quirky' hotel. The stairway decorations were fun and a little strange. Very friendly staff
Cons: The room was tiny
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Good bed, good washing facilities, good breakfast - great for stop over
Cons: Steps at entrance are very step and slippy when wet
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Amazingly quirky hotel with all sorts of bric-a-brac and collectables on the landings and in the breakfast room. Rooms are small but functional and the wifi works. Breakfast was a huge buffet of all sorts of different food, with a coffee machine and orange press for you to operate yourself. Big car park.
Cons: Although there's a lift inside, there's a huge flight of steps to get to the front door. Limited clothes storage and no room for side tables by the bed.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Nice place, small room but perfect for a good night sleep and a shower in the morning. Small details add extra value. Airfreshner in the bathroom, blinds, large windows that open.. Stayed for 7 nights and outside of the usual wifi frustration I can't say a bad thing.
Cons: Nothing bad to say.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff, cleanliness, quiet location, pet friendly.
Cons: Rooms very compact

Pros: This is simply the best hotel that I have stayed in for many years. Comfortable room and bed, cheerful and helpful staff, a quiet location, economical charges, and especially a REAL bath! A perfect final overnight stop before the St Malo ferry that we will definitely stay in again.
Cons: Nothing - it was all good.

Pros: Staff were very helpful in every way, Ideal for visiting Rennes 2 University.
Cons: NO air conditioning unfortunately continental breakfast is not sufficient for breakfast, apologies, Evening meal portions were small, no variation in evening meal, same menu each evening.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, very quiet and well managed. The ample free parking was also a benefit. It is only a 10 minute walk to the metro which is very easy to find using Google Maps. Overall I enjoyed my short 2 night stay here on the way back home to Guernsey having travelled to the south of France by motorcycle. If staying in Rennes for a longer period I would however choose a more central location with doorstep access to bars and restaurants. If travelling through Rennes again I would definitely stay here and would recommend to friends and family Thank you for a really pleasant stay
Cons: It would have been nice to have had a kettle with tea and coffee making facilities

Pros: Great location, lovely stuffs
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location (near everything, I didn't need to use public transport in Rennes), the breakfast, the personal of the hotel and the fact that the room was individual but I had my own bathroom.
Cons: I already knew before booking the room: the bed was small. However it was very confortable.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Good location, room was a good size and Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was good as well
8,8 Excellent
Pros: It was good location because you can go any central places by walking and the bus station to airport is really closed. The room has really small toilet but it was very clean.
Cons: When I was into the room, I could smell some strong men's skin smell so, it was not good for me and my friend. Also, when I took a shower, hot water didn't work.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Apart from the little minor complaints, it is as good of an accommodation as one could get. Location is perfect (half way between main old town area and the train station). The breakfast is very good, restaurants near by. Very clean room and helpful staff.
Cons: Wish there's a fridge to cool drinks and kettle for tea I'm the room. And the door knob for the room isn't the best because it keeps coming off. Not that I needed it when I was there but air conditioning facility would have been nice.
7,1 Good
Pros: - Great location
Cons: - Strange and timely procedure checking your identity when coming back to pick up your key (this only happened with one of the staff members however) - Breakfast could be better stocked (as things went missing there were very sporadic and limited fill-ups)

7,5 Good
Pros: Well located and well appointed
Cons: No ventilation in the room or air conditioning. Need to keep windows open to get any air. However apartment was above a square of restaurants and the noise floated upto the room.

Pros: Staff were very helpful. Decor is good. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast looked good but we didn't have any - it seemed expensive and we had to leave early.
Cons: There is no reception desk so it is difficult to deal with staff - there is no desk or table. The bedroom area was quite small (as with many hotels in France) with very limited space for storing cases, clothes etc.. 8,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast
Cons: Rooms a little bit small.
7,9 Good
Pros: good location and parking facility.
Cons: 2 flights of stairs
5,4 Okay
Pros: The bathrooms were very clean and the toilet was separate to the shower, as often in France.
Cons: The 'family room' were 2 double bedrooms with a connecting door. Tiny rooms, no air conditioning and lots of flies in room as the open windows had no fly guard. Noisy when other guests arrived, left or used their bathroom. And I paid nearly €150....
8,8 Excellent
Pros: I spent one night in the Garden Hotel on the way to my final vacation destination and another night on the way back. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms bright and cheery. The breakfast was really good, and I appreciated the newspapers available at breakfast. The location not far from the train station but also close to the historical center was perfect. Would definitely stay again!
Cons: There is not much natural light in the rooms. Also, the communication between the people working there could be better. When I checked in the woman assured me I could start breakfast early and even noted it down for her colleague, but in the morning he was surprised to see me and claimed that breakfast hadn't begun yet. In the end I was able to have it as planned though, so all was well.
7,9 Good
Pros: Good location, small but nice clean room.
Cons: We booked a room with a side patio, I only booked this hotel because of the patio thing as we have a small dog, also room description was room was on ground floor, when we arrived we were given a room on the 2nd floor with no patio! When I went down to reception to say I wanted the room I booked as I have a small dog the guy on reception was getting very annoyed with me! I insisted I wanted a room with the patio! I didn’t get a room on the ground floor which I had booked but one on the first floor which had a balcony which was better than nothing. Such a Shame really as the hotel is small but nice but when I book a room I expect to get the room I booked.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were super friendly.
Cons: Shower was a little bit wonky.

7,9 Good
Pros: Perfect location to discover Rennes, as it's in the middle between the old center and the newer part with a shopping mall. The hotel was renovating, so it's hard to have an objective opinion about it because of that.
