10,0 Excellent
Pros: We are extensive travellers and this now rates as one of our favourite hotels. A lovely old building but with modern comforts, very simply but tastefully decorated and with a very cosy and pleasant atmosphere. The breakfast was very nicely presented with plenty of choice and quality produce in a lovely candlelit room that seemed to have Scandinavian influences. The hotel was right in the centre of the beautiful town which we enjoyed walking around and exploring. Thoroughly recommended.
Cons: Having to leave.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Very cute building

Pros: Friendly staff. Good location. Clear parking instructions.
Cons: The room was small and dark. The washbasin cracked and no plug. No tea making facilities in the room. Uncomfortable bed with 2 thin single mattresses in it.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent, just next to the Schloss.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This was a lovely little hotel, great staff, very clean with a good breakfast provided. So many nice touches - little packs of sweets each day on our beds, tea & coffee available in the entrance area, a free piece of cake, reasonable mini bar prices. We really enjoyed our stay, so much in fact that we've booked to return again in December. Quedlinburg is lovely and the hotel location is good, the area is also attractive & interesting. We loved the steam train and the DDR museum in Thale (best we've ever been to). Good restaurants in the area with good beer and reasonable prices.
Cons: We had to leave!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Walking distance to the town centre. Staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfast very generous and delicious.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Staff was first rate, excellent location and breakfast meet our needs.
Cons: Thought room was small for a double occupancy.

Pros: Fabulous location right next to the castle. Friendly hosts. A large bottle of sparkling water offered gratis, wonderful for guests arriving after a long drive. I'd be glad to stay there again!
Hotel Zum Bär - Quedlinburg - Bedroom

8,9 Excellent (1 409 reviews)
R1 256+
Overview Reviews
A stay at Hotel Zum Bär places you in the heart of Quedlinburg, steps from Market Square and Fachwerkmuseum Standerbau. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent and the location was near to the work area.
Cons: I think the charge for the car park is not good.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location on the main square and hotel's charm (see, torn!). My room was not overlooking main square and was very quiet. Bathroom was renovated with great shower. Great breakfast. Free parking (there are 2 parking options. Paid at the hotel and free parking is really close. 200-300m?). Kind staff!
Cons: The room I spent the night was outdated... It is charming (I am torn here) but... Found only 1 socket near the bed (had to unplug the night lamp). Could have been a bit cheaper.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Unbelievable location right on the square. Very helpful staff and great size rooms. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Old style hotel inside city walls. Staff lovely and appeared happy in their work. Always makes for a more pleasant stay!
Cons: N/A
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location on main square. We were booked into the annex, which I expected to be in a back sreet, but it was opposite the hotel with the same view of the main square. Good restaurant.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect and the staff were so friendly. Everyone, from the front desk, the housekeeping staff, to the waiters in the restaurant and breakfast room. The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. I would happily stay here again.
Cons: The only thing I would add is some more vegan options to the menus of the restaurant and the breakfast room. Soy milk is an easy option to add to the breakfast, and maybe a vegan soup on the restaurant menu (this is not a critique of only this particular hotel but something I would recommend to ALL hotels by now). Even so, I was able to make do.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: comfortable, quiet room, good buffet breakfast, friendly staff
Cons: Nice historic hotel but no elevator so you have to take the stairs.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place, very stylish and atmospheric! I'd like to come back there again.
Cons: The towels need to be replaced, they were a bit tough and grayish. We constantly stumbled over interior thresholds, but I understand that this is due to the age of the building.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I picked this place for the location and the name. I don't think the pictures did it justice. This place was excellent, and the best bargain of the trip. The place was large, had a nice kitchen area.
9,6 Excellent

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful rooms with lots of character and very well decorated. The restaurant had excellent food and the hosts who run both the hotel and restaurant were wonderful!
5,0 Okay
Pros: Great location.
Cons: Massive amount of stairs. Uncomfortable low cieling. No equipped for hot weather. The kitchen wasn't a kitchen- no sink no bowls stoves and so on.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly owners.
Cons: I would not take any English-speaking guests to Quedlinburg again--no tours in English :( The parking was good but it would be better if its location were described before one tries to drive to or near (lots of no cars allowed streets) the hotel. Deco = shabby chic , cute.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location is very closed to downtown, thus it is easy to access every time. Breakfast serving time is from 8 as standard, but they kindly served it at a half an hour before 8 because I should leave the hotel at 8. Thanks a lot.
Cons: The hotel does not have elevator system, but I could accept the condition because other than it, all were well,
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful historic mansion in beautiful location, lovely host
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic late 1800s castle hotel, 200 yards from the main, market street in the old city. Faboulus staff, clean, historic adventure like, with armour figures in the passages, huge parklike garden. I will highly recommend this great hotel and the very close by city of Quedlinburg with all the amazing, very old buildings.
Cons: Nothing !
2,5 Mediocre
Pros: Absolutely nothing. The bathroom stank to the extent it was stomach churning. The smell affected the whole room making it impossible to sleep. We asked for a room change but they said it was fully booked. When we complained about the smell nothing was done. This establishment should be removed from booklng.com.
Cons: Everything. See before.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here for 4 nights and used the hotel as a base o explore the Harz Mountains. The room was great, beds comfortable, breakfast buffet was bountiful. The staff greeted me with a perfectly crafted cappuccino each morning. The owner gave us a tour of the off-hotel aspects of the mansion as well as the tower. A must stay place.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: room, food, and location

9,2 Excellent
Pros: This was exactly what we wanted and expected and is why we chose to visit old out of the way Germany. Charm and originality was the order of the day at the Dippeplatz as it provided a well preserved step back in time. The location was just the right distance for a brisk walk to the Markt and all of the charm that Quedlinburg has to offer. This was our first venture into this part of the Germany...out of the way Germany and this hotel gave us a very good introduction.
Cons: Our traveling connections went awry and attempting to communicate with limited or no German was a challenge...all went well in the end but there was anxiety and we had to become resourceful using our own means to ensure we secured the room, but after all this is old Germany....

Cons: Overall appearance seems quite tired. Over bath shower under sloping ceiling Long hike up creeky old stairs to attic bedroom

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice old style, well decorated. Not cheesy.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old building right in centre. Comfy room, bathroom could be updated.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We loved the room - very large and comfortable with a nice homely feel. Fantastic view out on to the square. Location very quiet apart from the intermittant ringing of church bells from across the road. Our bed was comfortable and the kitchen would of been handy for doing some cooking should our stay had been a little longer. We were pleasingly surprised when our room was made up the following morning as we didnt expect this and they provided us with a more suitable pillow to meet our NZ tastes, without us having to ask. Great pub next door that served cheap but quality beers and traditional German food. Owner was able to speak some english so that was very useful. Breakfast was a typical German fare - cold buffet with beautiful meats, bread, pickles and cheeses with cereal available as well. We would of liked to have stayed longer and would definitely stay here should we get the chance to visit the Harz mountains again..
Cons: No air conditioning in room. The weather was very warm (heat wave) during our stay. But we do realise the age of the building and historical status would make this addition difficult. Church bells started ringing at 6am in the morning which made it difficult to sleep in.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Small property. Evriting ok.
Cons: -
7,5 Good
Pros: It was great to have the kitchenette and prepare our own food one night.
Cons: Uncomfortable mattress. We ended up moving it on to the floor after the first night. For the price we would also have liked cotton not synthetic sheets.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was comfy and in general the location was perfect to go into the city centre of Quedlinburg and surrounding towns. Breakfast was great, a small and selective choice, but everything we wanted and of very good quality.
Cons: The only thing to say is that I wish organic eggs would be served for breakfast.

Cons: The staff speak only German and some (very few) words in English It may happen having to wait to have breakfast, because there is no place available (and the staff seems not being interested in the issue: our impression was the staff attitude was something like "There is no place in the breakfast room: well it's your problem not ours) The room is below international standard for a 3 stars hotel, more like an expansive 2 stars hotel

Pros: Silent, comfortable room, good breakfast

Pros: Newly renovated, very clean apartment. Nice atmosphere
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was comfortable and stylish, light and airy with a central location.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: This was our second stay in Finkenherd 5. My partner and I were traveling with her mother and we got the appartment 1 on the ground floor. It is one of the only ones without outside space in form of a balcony or terrace. The appartment was beautiful with a full kitchen and a nice bathroom with an enormous shower head. There was a double bed and in the living room there was a sofa bed, which was very comfortable but not as easy to switch back to being a sofa, so we left it as a bed for the duration of the stay. If you are 3 or 4 people you might want to spend a bit extra and get the larger top appartment no 9. It has two bed rooms and a very spacious living room. We stayed there last year, but it was already booked this year. Finkenherd is a fantastic place located right in the middle of the old town just below the castle with free gated parking. We will definately stay here when in the Harz region.

Pros: Excellent service~ Strongly recommend. Very good location, the personal service are perfect. And good breakfast
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Historic hotel right on the main square. It was a little tricky finding the parking lot but it is very close to the hotel. our room was on the 3rd floor. Yep, gotta carry your luggage, but well worth it. I cringe using the adjective charming, but it is the only word to describe our room and the bathroom was huge and very modern. Very comfortable bed, and a quiet room despite being right on the square. Best of all, this is both a restaurant and hotel and the included breakfast was delicious (bacon, eggs, etc; nothing continental about it!) I highly recommend the Theoplano.
Cons: No elevator but this is minor
8,8 Excellent
Pros: History in spades!! A half timbered building typical of the town/region built in 1660.
Cons: Early morning noise from the msrket square

Pros: We had a Nice big room which had been renovated and the bathroom was new and modern. The location right in the center of town was perfect and very quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good with plenty of choices but very busy.
Cons: There was no lift and no air conditioning and the restaurant/bar closed at 10PM.

Pros: Wonderful location next to the Rathaus and near the main sights. The historical building is charmingly furnished with modern amenities. Breakfast had a good selection and house-made bread.
Cons: Wished the room had a refrigerator

Pros: Excellent hotel and upstairs family room with view of market square was amazing. Very authentic stay with modern bathroom and amenities. The lady on reception in the afternoon and again in the morning was extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. Her English was perfect which made check in and check out easy. Assistance is offered with your luggage up the stairs if required. Gluten free bread was provided to our table at breakfast as I made a request at booking. Would love to come back in winter to experience the Christmas market. Highly recommend as an authentic and relaxing stay.

Pros: Very nice hotel just below higher above on hill castle of Quedlingburg. A short walking distance to castle entry. Walking distances to all highlights within the interesting old historic charm of Quedlingburg. The hotel was an added plus to end and start the day with. A super breakfast each morning within their lobby restaurant and working staff there were a bonus.
Cons: All good...
8,3 Excellent

7,1 Good
Pros: Very nice building, good location, nice breakfast buffet
Cons: Very noisy road, bathroom very humid as the ventilation is not sufficient and flushing toilet is with little water only. Rooms very warm so you are tempted to sleep with open window but definitely need ear plugs if to do so
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the old building that was rehabbed to be a hotel and the location is superb.
Cons: They have a big building across the lot that hosts big events and the music and drunk people who spilled out into the courtyard were loud and went on late int the night. 11:00 I'd say.

Pros: Good shower, good breakfast, good parking, most of the staff were friendly
Cons: The owner of the hotel was very bad mannered. On my birthday I asked to have dinner at the hotel which a young employee said my wife and I would get a table but he then forgot. It was a buffet, 2 hours later we were given a table but by then the food was hardly edible. The owner took € 3 off a meal that cost € 24,90 and was very uppety. She also spoke not nice to her staff.

Pros: Very helpful staff and amazing location to walk to charming old center. Lovely breakfast room w many choices and plenty of hot coffee!
Cons: Internet very slow Quite a hike w suitcases to 4 th floor
8,3 Excellent
Pros: While this hotel looks less impressive and has a rather typical modern interior we think its location in the old town not far from the market square and its reasonable price make this hotel one of the best choices to stay in Quedlinburg. The hotel has a fee parking inside the hotel but you can also park the car at the open garage for free but you need to drive around from hotel to the parking place due to the one-way limit. It just takes 5 minutes to reach there. Breakfast is quite good with more choices and lots of juices.
