The staff was friendly, the hotel was spotless and everything else was even better than advertised. The food was also out of this world.
Very comfortable beds, clean room, friendly staff, plenty of parking space, strong wifi
Little far away from Volos
Great location, easy parking, amazing view and finally great spa experience with the friendliest personnel.
Service at the dining area was slow. The food needs modernization and quality improvement. The breakfast needs more variety and quality.
The personnel was very professional. Each one of them did exceptional job.
-There was noise from the windows all night every night that would wake you up on the middle of the night. With the money paid they could have fixed it. -Old furniture, old TV like staying in a house of 1995 -When it is Christmas and you have a customer that paid a lot for the staying and you give as a gift 2 bottles of water from the mini bar and not the other stuff is cheap. I propose not to gift the waters at all. In overall not value for money. I do not recommend it. At all. Waste of money it was unfortunately.
The location of the hotel is great as it offers a view to Portaria village as well as the city of Volos from above. It offers parking spaces which is quite important given the fact that the village get quite crowded. It's only a five minute walk to the centre of the village. Breakfast is great and the lobby and restaurant area are very pleasant. Room was spacious and clean with comfortable beds. Staff is polite and helpful.
It's quite overpriced in high season (booking was between Christmas and new years). Hotel was a bit dated and it would nice to see a little bit better cared rooms (e.g. better tv, better decoration, bathroom accessories, hot water boiler and coffee at room etc.). This is in relation to the price paid, if it would be for low/normal season I guess it would be ok, but maybe some details can make this hotel exceed ok.
When you stay at Portaria Hotel in Volos, you'll be in the mountains, within a 5-minute drive of Path of the Centaurs and Museum of Folk Art and History of Pelion. Featured amenities include a computer station, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. This hotel has 3 meeting rooms available for events. Guests may use a train station pick-up service for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
