Kempinski Palace Portoroz - Portorož - Building

9,2 Excellent (3 625 reviews)
R3 384+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Kempinski Palace Portoroz in Piran, you'll be on the beach, a 3-minute walk from Portoroz Beach and a 5-minute drive from Tartinijev Trg. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. For a surcharge, guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle (available 24 hours) and a train station pick-up service.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere, the very helpful staff, the bar with life music..the swimming pool with sea water...its only my opinion: Portoroz does not have a lot to offer, so the stay at this hotel is the best experience of Portoroz!
Cons: The spa area is quite small for the size of this hotel and its quite fresh in the treatment's rooms.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The service was amazing. Sophia restaurant was amazing
Cons: The hospital hasn’t got private beach.
4,2 Okay
Cons: At check in, receptionist claimed that they cannot find our booking despite showing her our booking.com confirmation number and our passports. Called reception to ask if we could have a kettle in the room and was told that it will be delivered. It took reception an hour after 4 calls to inform room service of our request. A pot of hot water instead of a kettle was delivered!
6,7 Good
Cons: I didn’t like that when we arrived we were given a room which eventually became someone elses... We were moved to another room in the old part of the hotel...The swimming pool area was packed with people. At breakfast the already used tables were messy and leftovers were seen everywhere!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I. Concierge service was excellent as they graciously spent an hour or so with me on the phone PRIOR to arrival and proved just as gracious when I arrived. II. Excellent (and unexpected) almost all bike roughly 4 mile rail to bike/hike only trail from Portoroz to Isola Slovenia. III. Excellent FREE internet as I needed to work each day I was there and almost stayed a week. IV. Great HQ to tour by (A) ferry to (1) Isola, Slovenia (as trips are daily in summer) and (2) Ravinj and Pula in Croatia (weekends and Wednesday only in summer) with Raving being more charming and Pula having 3 Roman sites but more inudustrial; (3) Venice (once per week on Dora BU you may need to stay overnight) (B) car to multiple 30 to 75 minutes short road trips in Slovenia (including gorgeous and captivating Ljubliana) and Istrian peninsula of Croatia. V. Buffet British/American style lavish and tasty breakfast until 12 noon included in price. VI. Large rooms
Cons: air conditioning made room comfortable but it was irritating that theormostat did not work properly and was "off" and needed adjustment BUT room was able to be cooled but needed assistance form help..
9,6 Excellent
Pros: My stay it was great .
6,3 Good
Pros: Liked the exterior design of the traditional building. Very nice location.
Cons: The room is too small, no coffee machine, cheap furniture (bed, sofa, etc...), service at breakfast not up to the level, no variety at breakfast. Not the known Kempinski standards.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: location, staff, comfort
Cons: private beach (extra charge) is not the best beach part at Portoroz
6,3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Paid access to the beach & tired furniture
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel with wonderful location in the center of the promenade/ beach area. Very practical also if you are traveling by car with parking at the back of the hotel. Nice bar with live music. Great swimming pool area with interconnected indoor and outdoor pools.
Cons: Lots of birds (mainly pigeons) “attack” the outside breakfast area even when the guests are eating! Strangely enough the staff seemed not to bother! This area must be avoided at all cost. Use the inside area instead! Hotel must solve this problem swiftly as it cannot be tolerated in a property with this level !
7,9 Good
Cons: Not possible to fully plack out the room. Hotel looks quite old.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very nice and helpful, answered all questions . Nice breakfast, perfect location.
Cons: We loved everything
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation is very nice and clean, rooms are small but well-equipped. The breakfast in the garden is amazing, fresh fruits and local products, too. The owner is very nice, gave very good advises, where to go, what to do and she always had a nice word to us. There are free bicycles which is very great in this area. Parking is complicated in Piran but the owner gave a lot of help and also reduced prices which is a big help. Beach and center is max 5 minutes walking distance.
Cons: A hairdryer would be useful in the room.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic family run accomodation, lovely hosts. Great breakfast in beautiful garden.
Cons: Very small, tiny bathroom with a lack of space/shelf to put washing bags.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: great location, small but comfortable bedrooms, very friendly and helpful staff. lovely breakfast served in the garden.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Nice location very central in Piran, lovely garden for breakfast, very nice and helpful staff
Cons: The rooms are very small. Be careful if you come with a car it is quite complicated (the staff will help you), do NOT enter the narrow inner streets of Piran but stay on the seaside where it is much easier. Also we couldn't have bikes because they were all taken, if you want bikes tell them straight away
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The room and breakfast were very good. Friendly lady. She gave us very usefull tips for visiting and dinner and we were able to use bikes free of charge.
Cons: Nothing
9,2 Excellent

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff went over and above to make our stay wonderful.
Cons: Air conditioning in rooms was adequate. Maybe could have been better.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Sea View Room on 4th floor = incredible sea and sunset view
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Service and attitude of receptionist Katarina was outstanding. We liked Lora a lot. Great thanks to all group.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in Piran and excellent service from front desk employees and the chauffer who took guests to/from the parking garage. Breakfast buffet was very good had many choices. Comfortable beds, spacious bathroom and room was very quiet.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: Location was great and the hotel makes it extremely easy to get in and out if you're driving with their shuttle service to and from the Piran parking garage. Hotel was very clean and beautiful.
Cons: Due to the prime location, expect a lot of noise. Our room faced the alley, and we got a lot of noise from people walking to their hotels late at night, and motoscooters zipping up the alley in the morning.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Best hotel in Piran, well located right in front of the sea. Private sea access is quite nice with a great atmosphere but to be noted that this is not a beach as there is no real beach in Piran. It was nice to swim in front of the hotel nevertheless. Breakfast is very decent for a 4* hotel (hence put it as a positive) but not best in class (eg coffee is self serve through machines etc).
Cons: Room are confortable but not super modern. We booker a standard room in the back of the hotel but immediately regretted it (no sea view and another building just in front of our window across narrow street) and should definitely have paid the extra for sea view and/or balcony.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: - The location is perfect - the rooftop bar is amazing to enjoy the sunset ! - Very friendly staff - Sea view from the room - Great breakfast buffet
Cons: - No parking (but a free shuttle to one of the parking at the entry of the city). - Possibility to get free towels for the beach but sunbed are not free and quite expensive. - As French people, we are used to get free appetisers with cocktails like nuts crackers or olives. They charged us 4 euros for local olives..
10,0 Excellent
Cons: comfort room need more love - new paiting job
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, the people, the private beach.
7,9 Good
Pros: The location is nearby perfect! The breakfast beside the sea is wonderful! The room was spacious with a sea view. The beds are comfortable and the minibar well filled!
Cons: We had a not so nice experience with the hotel chauffeur who brought us to the garage (no parking in the Piran city center). We payed for the parking in the hotel and were promised that the chauffeur would let us out. But he didn’t. He left us behind at the garage and we had to find our way out.
7,9 Good
Pros: Lovely staff and great location. Great services.
Cons: Very noisy. Found it difficult to sleep. There was a constant humming coming from outside the room all night on the 4th floor and people slamming doors in the morning.
7,5 Good
Pros: Breakfast buffet was good as was the restaurant food in the evening though a touch on the expensive side
Cons: Really very small and cramped bathroom- see photo. Beds were extremely hard making them uncomfortable. We also had a problem with the safe in our room which had a malfunction which they said would be fixed the next day but it wasn't and on the last day the toilet roll holder fell off the wall.

Pros: Great location, new or newly refurbished hotel. Staff is helpful. Breakfast is widespread with great quality and plenty of choice.
Cons: Minor things that could be improved to match the price they ask for a room/night - cleaning in general could be better (stains on the sheets), pool bar quality could improve
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The offer for breakfast was rich. Even for somebody who does not prefer meat, or has some intolerance (lactose, gluten) Hotel has a great location. The public beaches are close to the hotel. 8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and welcoming staff in all departments (front desk, breakfast, cleaning). Great room with a lot of space and a balcony with a view of Portoroz. Possibility to take the hotel bikes for trips around the town. Very nice beach nearby!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. Nice Staff, quiet location. Rooms are as on the Photos and comfortable. Private Garage Parking. Ca 1km from the Beach. Breakfest avesome.
Cons: Nothing negative to mention.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very cosy room with balcony with garden views. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Nothing.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Hmm, it's not far from sea, but "beach" is on camping site, and private parking are good if you travel by car, which we were.
Cons: Well, to begin with, it's the price. When you're asked to pay 200 for night, you're expecting some kind of comfort. Bed was comfortable, but it was not in good shape. Like whole room (except balcony door), everything is in desperate need for renovation. Walls are dirty, furniture is damaged, and i cannot say that room was clean. I would not recommend this place for any of my friends. btw, breakfast could have more fresh fruits and veggies.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast; variety of local products, fresh omelette if wanted, very kind and helpful staff. The hotel is clean and well designed, and most importantly you can pet their dog!!!
Cons: The mattresses could have been of better quality. This includes the main bed and the extra bed we got for the third member.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Bus station was very close, easy to catch a bus to Piran. Nice & friendly staff in the hotel, big balcony was great. For swimming it was easiest to use the nearby Lucija auto camp. Breakfast until 11:00 and check out till 12:00 is very appreciated if you have small kids.
Cons: Adjucent door to the next room was my concern but the sound was blocked pretty well.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect - literally a few steps from Tartini square! We really loved the guesthouse; it was very cute, clean, the bathroom was nice and the shower great. Overall the value for money was amazing, if you’re ever in Piran and need a place to sleep this place gets my recommendation 100%!
Cons: The door was really crooked so it was super hard to open and close and it wouldn’t lock.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It’s well presented, clean and so well situated to reach all the glorious ness that is Piran.
Cons: I woke up to find a nest of ants on my bedside but then I did leave a chocolate bar there so not the best idea!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We had a really good stay here - great location off the Piazza (once we found it lol!) that is close to everything. Although Piran is a very small town so this is not hard! They were really good with the car-parking - they gave us a voucher so that we could get out after checking in for free and we had discounted parking in the garage (once you arrive in Piran you will understand, because cars are not allowed to stay in the city). Everything was very nice, my only complaint being that the air conditioner in our room need a service so was very loud throughout the night! (room 32). Otherwise good. Also, the breakfast was very nice and vegetarian/vegan which is unusual (and nice!).
Cons: The air conditioner was literally my only complaint!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent and rooms comfortable. Air conditioning was best we had during our travels around Slovenia!
Cons: Breakfast was not on par with others we had during our trip around Slovenia.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, air conditioning was wonserful
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Superb location a stone's throw away from Tartini Square - location couldn't be better. Really comfortable, clean room in a beautiful property.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Location of the guest house is right in the centre of Piran. The ''Secret Patio'' where we had breakfast is lovely. Breakfast of porridge and fresh fruit was delicious. Staff at the guest house reception were extremely friendly and helpful.
Cons: Air conditioners desperately need some maintenance: lots of noise and water leaked during our stay. Parking is a nightmare - although appreciate this is not the hotel's fault at all, just for travellers to consider as a factor when staying in central Piran.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved it! Great place with great people!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Tasty breakfast, nice rooms and location!
7,1 Good
Pros: Good location
Cons: Aircon was noisy and made a waterfall noise whenever it was on. Had to be turned off to sleep. Although the parking was at a reduced fee outside the city, having to return back to the hotel to return the plastic card is quite a faff.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay, new, clean, great location. I highly recommend Pacha Mama guesthouse. Helpful staff...

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional Hotel position. Very good food. Dedicated Staff in the Resturant
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great. Specially honey and honeycomb :)
Cons: Everything was perfect.
7,5 Good
Pros: The rooms have been refurbished recently and are very nice. Everythings is new, the lights are great. The bathroom is beautiful and was clean. The beach is quite small, so you have to go down early in the morning and put out your towel on the sunbed to reserve it basically. They offer towel cards for the beach but these run out quickly so you better take your own towel. The restaurant is huge, they have a great selection of food. They also have various bars and a cafe on the roof top so you can enjoy a drink after dinner.
Cons: We booked a double room on booking.com. The pricing was different for the double room and the twin room. Once we paid in the confirmation email it said it will be a double or twin room upon availability. We received a twin room upon arrival. When we asked they said that they only have one floor of double rooms as they are more like a conference hotel. Then we asked why are they advertising it if they don't have the availability? The price for the double rooms is higher so it's not fair. At the end the receptionist agreed to move us to a double room on the second day so it was sorted.
7,9 Good
Pros: Location , pool , beach .
Cons: Diner , gym
6,7 Good
Pros: Great location and a nice beach.
Cons: Missing towels at the beach on a few occasions, barmen not willing to make frapes and ice teas because it takes more of his time, cleaning service forgets to put clean towels...
8,5 Excellent
Pros: Location was great, service was great. VIP section at the beach was a luxury. Food was great for adults. Kids pool at neighboring hotel (which we had access to) was enjoyable.
Cons: Not the best fit for young children. Rocky beach, and salt water pools were ok, but not ideal. Not great food options for toddlers.
7,1 Good
Cons: we have asked for a quiet family room which to our surprise was a room in the lowest 1st floor vis a vis a beach bar playing music all day till 8-9pm. One night there was even a party and noisy music from the bar was disturbing way beyond midnight. After our complain at reception they did stop only after another hour.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The private beach (+facilities) and the breakfast + the staff were great. Also the location is nice: Little cafes and the Ribja Kantina (lovely fish restaurant) are close by, nice spot to start walking tours to Piran and Portoroz.
Cons: I didn´t like the "battle for beach loungers" taking place every morning between 7am and 8am. There must be a better system than "who comes first".
9,6 Excellent
Pros: a wonderful view
Cons: 1. we had problems with the air condition the whole time 2. we were on the first floor and didnt have a godd view,
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice indoor swimming pool. Free bathrobes and towels, Free parasols and beach loungers. Free parking. Excellent self-service breakfast and dinner. Modern large flat-screen TV in the room.
Cons: Rooms a bit too small. Traffic (motorcycles) on the way between the hotel and the beach.
5,4 Okay
Pros: The views from the upper rooms(which we got last time) -amazing Staff in rooftop bar Grand caffe and that view-the best Location-Slovenian Istria is beautiful, find better options to stay :)
Cons: Not my first time here but probably will not be coming back. Let's start with the room, please do not buy rooms which are marked with small print "ground floor only" - you will never be upgraded without paying tons of money (they asked for 1k eur more) to upper floor and you'll end up listening to motorbikes, delivery vehicles and rude people yelling on the pronenade starting from early morning. The beach-it is basically a public beach, so all sorts of people take the sunchairs and space for free (from surrounding accomodations) while you, as a paying customer (and boy the prices!) end up being harrased by them and not being able to find a spot on the beach. Terrible. When we asked not to have dinner there (we wanted to enjoy the beach until 20. 00h when all the freeloaders left.,and were constantly late for dinner which starts closing 20.55h and you had to swallow your meals as quick as you can) and downgrade to b&b- their compensation suggestion was to give us a coupon worth 7 eur per adult (and we are a family of 4!) so we ended up eating out and spent tons of money more. Overall, terrible customer relationship and crazy overpriced.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect clean hotel, great food, gluten-free choice, close to beach and centre of Portoroz, no problems with parking, very close to the bus stop to beautiful Piran,
7,5 Good
Pros: + breakfast is very good + room is clean and spacious
Cons: - a bit difficult to find the way to the entrance, there is not enough parking space to leave a car while check-in. - not enough parking space. You should find a parking lot on two public parking zone for 5 EUR/day. You leave a car there on your own risk. There is an option to use a garage in another hotel up the hill for 15 EUR/day (you should like the keys). - there is no air-conditioning for internal spaces in the hotel. In the room, the air-con is weak and not enough under +32 outside. - the whole complex isn't kid-friendly. If you are with a stroller, be ready to move up and down a lot without an elevator. - it's not clear from the description that the facility is located up the hill and not facing the main street.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Big and clean room
Cons: Food is not worth a 4 star hotel, it is more like a cheap motel snack
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very good facilities and a fab location
Cons: Outdoor pool was closed until 2pm on a Tuesday- a little disappointing as it is peak summer
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very good location - close to the sea, main street and other tourist important places. Fantastic pools. Really nice rooms with top equipment. The possibility of beach packages.
Cons: Only one lift for the hotel of this size was problem - we often wait for the cabin. Parking should be better (but it is clear disadvantage of location close to the sea). Drinks non-included in the dinner price.
7,5 Good
Pros: Good location Good value
Cons: Staff tired
9,2 Excellent
Pros: - Nice quiet newly renovated rooms - Location not far from the beach - Good breakfast - Access to pools with sea water - Solid WiFi connection - Portoroz itself is very nice small town
Cons: - For bath robes, sun beds, umbrellas and beach towels you need to pay extra - Door key opened the door to the room every other time - sometimes it took up to 5 attempts for me to get into the room - No fish or any shellfish on the breakfast despite of the seaside location

Pros: Great location, modern renovated rooms
Cons: Dining area not yet renovated
7,1 Good
Pros: Great location for beach but not in Piran itself so a walk to get into town.
Cons: Hotel is a bit dated. We had room on top floor which meant 4 flights of stairs, not suitable for anyone with mobility issues
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, room was good with a view on the sea and we could park on site
Cons: Breakfast can be improved, feels dated and does not match the rest of the level of the hotel
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location, just outside the beach so we could sit down on the balcony and listen to the noise of the sea. It’s only 15 minutes walk to Piran’s market and the walk along the sea is amazing
Cons: The hotel looks tired and needs renovation. Breakfast was monotonous, the same restricted choice every day
6,7 Good
Pros: Great location - by the sea and 15 walk from Piran’s center. Staff was really helpfull and kind. Our room had a view straight on the beach and was really quite. The parking is a great asset!
Cons: The room was dusty and there were crawling bugs that annoyed us a lot. Breakfast was really basic and could be easily improved.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I was pleasantly surprised. The room was newly renovated and top notch. The bed was very comfortable. The air conditioning worked well. It was a 15 min walk along a sea path to the town of Piran. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The breakfast room and outside seating was very nice. There was parking for us at the hotel.
Cons: I wish they had an elevator. We managed by only taking what we needed for our one night stay to our room.
7,1 Good
Pros: Nice 15min walk to go to Piran. The view from the breakfast room. The room was recent.
Cons: The view from the hotel is the sea and a camping... The bottom sheet wasn't comfortable at all, you could see the mattress through it.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location is brilliant, the view from the terrace onto the sea is stunning! The staff was really nice and helpful.
Cons: Unfortunately we booked the room quite last minute and the view from our room was onto the back of the hotel, however, the view from the terrace and the overall location of the hotel exceeded our expectations.

Pros: Location and food was great, but coffee quality awful.
Cons: Coffee at breakfast.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast and dinner, nice stuff, comfortable beds and excellent bathroom. We had no problem :)
Cons: Controlling of air condition was not so friendly
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We were there second time with our small daughters, and our bigger one had some sickness so we had to go home after one day. The hotel was very kind, we had to pay only that one night, it was big help for us.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Nice room with sea view and balcony, very quiet accommodation, comfortable beds, rich breakfast, towel service and free sunbeds by the pool on the beach
Cons: Parking EUR 15 per night, more difficult way from garage to room (partly stairs)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, facilities, pools, surrounding, food
Cons: Tha swimming pool is great, but the exit towards to the beach was closed, so I always have to climb the fence if I wanted to swim in the sea. The hotel should solve this problem (I understand they want to have only their guests around the pool) with a suitable checking system instead closing the exit.
7,9 Good
Pros: Nice place, good location, friendly staff
Cons: I indicated well before arrival that my 4 year old is on a gluten-free diet, answer was that it is not a problem, they are well prepared. During the first breakfast I asked for gluten-free bread, they brought me an open package of Schar bread which expired two months ago... The drawer where this came from was full with other Schar bakeries, most of them also expired... On a positive note, when I complained, they brought a new package of bread from the kitchen. During dinner allergens in food are clearly indicated everywhere, but the dessert shelf. When I alsed whether the ice-cream is gluten-free, one cook said, yes, no problem. The other one said he needs to check on the box and then said it isn’t clear, we’d better not take it. We ended up eating Panna Cotta every evening as the only gluten-free dessert option at a 5 star hotel...
9,6 Excellent
Cons: Airconditioning could have been stronger.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Facilities are great. Good gym and plenty of pools to choose from. Also a lot of capacity for sun bathing.
Cons: Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment, there was a a lot to choose from but quality was not good considering that it is a premium hotel. Also air conditioning was making sounds in the night.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Ohh, what to say. Perfect hotel in a perfect location. This is the 4 star part of the 5 star Metropol Hotel. This means you can use the 5 star hotel pool and restaurant. Both Portoroz and this hotel is a piece of Paradise in Earth:)

Cons: Everything was ok
7,0 Good
Pros: nice staff, good food and close to the beach and city center
Cons: lunch hour is a little bit narrow in means of time (only from 19 till 20:30). I would prefer a possibility to have supper till 22:00.
6,3 Good
Pros: There is no internet connection in the rooms you have to go to the hotel next door (the same company to be connected. The tv doesn't work all the time and there are no international channels. But, the hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly
4,4 Okay
Pros:
Cons: No easy access to the hotel, the baggage has to be carried up the stairs to get to the reception. This hotel belongs to Metropol chain hotels. Metropol Hotel is 5 star and is situated 50 meters from Roza hotel. All activities you can get in Metropol hotel and not in Roza hotel. Breakfast is served in this hotel, but dinner is served also in Metropol hotel. They should write down explanation.

Pros: Staff was nice, location too
Cons: The room smelled, the area around tv was not really clean, elevators are just too small for the size of the hotel (especially when you have a baby cottage). The part of hotel which is not renovated should be ranked with 3stars, not 4. Tv in the room is really small. Overpriced...

Pros: Second time I stay with family and second time I fill like home, I love location, I love food and activities, I love spa and sweeping pools. I feel comfortable. Hotel provides everything on very good level and plus more !!! It’s welcome attitude. Thank you !
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Central location and very nice setting. Staff all good, but some need training. I felt brushed off a couple of times when asking about something, which is not good customer service.
Cons: Really, the WiFi was dreadful. It was poor, cut off, never more than 1 Mb/s and just not what to expect in s modern 4 star hotel. Not surprising Grand Hotel lost a star this year.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything.
Cons: They parked my car on the street

Pros: We arrived before check-in time and got access to pool and beach. Super friendly and helpful receptionist, she booked us restaurant and ordered a taxi. Small pool in Sea Spa in the next building, also sunbeds available in the beach.

Pros: Great location. Short walk to the beach.

7,5 Good
Pros: Basically a nice hotel with good pool and good breakfast
Cons: Unfortunately the air conditioners in our room were not working properly resulting in hot temperatures during the night. A mobile AC was provided but then the noice was terrible.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: It was nice with a big parking space close to the facility
Cons: Everything was okey
8,3 Excellent
Pros: +Exceptional breakfast +Small fridge in the room +Friendly staff
Cons: -Mattresses too soft -Ants in the room -Shared balcony
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was super friendly and willing to serve us with breakfast even after the official time. The cozy pool and jacuzzi on the terrace are superb. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable.
Cons: The in-room air conditioning was somewhat noisy, and opening the window wasn't really an option since the backside of the building faces a mountain road with quite heavy traffic. This is presumably not a problem on the seafront side. Still a very nice place overall, would come back happily.
8,2 Excellent
Pros: Our room was nice, I believe the bed AND pillows were memory foam, a nice touch. Bathroom was spacious and the shower was cool, the whole room had a modern vibe that was unusual for Europe The pool deck looked nice (due to bad weather we didn't get to use it). It was especially nice to have the restaurant in the hotel, breakfast was great and dinner was AMAZING!
Cons: For those looking for easier access to the waterfront and main strip in Portoroz there are closer hotels you could choose. Also a warning, the pool that looks like a hot tub is not a hot tub, its just a cold-temp pool that bubbles and lights up like a hot tub. Not a huge loss but we were a bit bummed thinking it was a hot tub and then realizing it wasn't when we got there.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great! Thank you! :)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything...beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. Fab location
9,2 Excellent
Pros: walking distance to the beach, shops, bus and taxis, staff very helpful if asked questions about the area and served us a light lunch after our arrival, the family room was a bit small for a family of 4 but was ideal for a 2-night stayover.
Cons: The bathroom was very small and parking with shade would have made a difference.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location; great service from friendly staff; amazing choice for breakfast.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: This is a good 3* hotel that concentrates on delivering what it does well. The range of breakfast was good. The staff were excellent always friendly and helpful. The locations good if you want a quiet break away but it is only 15 minutes walk into Piran along the cost path for anything else you want to do. Top tip take a small torch but the hotel does supply one on the key ring.
Cons: We had a standard room which was quiet small, but OK. The balcony was very small so only room for one chair. No safe deposit box. They played music in the breakfast area which was too loud and in my view unnecessary, they also played music at the beach bar, I understand that but the continually bass booming was a bit grating at times.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: All the Staff are friendly and nice ( Either from Reception or from Restaurant). The Room is clean and comfortable, and have direct Access to Beach. Location is very good, 10 Minutes by foot to Piran old Town by walking through the Promenade directly from Beach, it is a very comfortable, beautiful and romantic way by good Weather. Food from Beach Bar and Restaurant for Snack and Dinner taste good. A Camping Area is nearby that provides also some Choices of Casual Restaurants for food and Drinks even good Geleto ( Ice-Cream) even when the Days we haven gone out to City Center.
Cons: Nothing.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, just 15 mins walk from Piran centre, with a nice bar near the beach open till late. Good B'fast and friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location and nice decorations throughout. The breakfast was very good and staff very nice.
Cons: The lighting is so strange in this building that the room keys actually comes with a flashlight attached to it (which makes it a huge key ring). Also the lighting in the restaurant was a bright and hideous fluorescent. Although it was a nice hotel, I don’t think I would stay here if I came back.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Quirky, playful decor. Very helpful staff.
Cons: Room VERY small. Spend a few dollars more to upgrade- however, we’d stay at BarbRa again.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional customer service. Far better than that I have received in 5* accommodation. The bar and restaurant staff were excellent. Pleasant, accommodating, service focussed with a smile. You see the same staff from morning to night and their demeanour does not change. Very impressed. Reception were also kind and helpful although we interacted with them less. The food and ambience at the bar meant we returned there to eat each evening. Good value as you get access to sun loungers, beach towels, extensive breakfast. We have in the past paid 20 euros a day.
Cons: Rooms are small and a little tired. If you want a plusher experience pay for a superior room. Pillows were hard. But then perhaps we should have raised with reception. Minimal niggles and the general great customer service over rides it all.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Helpful and friendly staff, incredible location with a private beach. Welcome drink at the bar was an unexpected surprise. A choice of local Slovenian lager and ipa would have been nice, and the standard rooms need a bit of an update and especially more power points but we had an excellent stay and would gladly recommend the hotel to others.
7,5 Good
Pros: Nice sea access Free Beach chairs Extremely nice and helpful staff
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Private beach area. Beautiful walk along the shore to Piran town center.
Cons: Room was a little small.

5,8 Okay
Pros: Location, dinner and breakfast. Nice staff.
Cons: Fridge did not work, Forgoten dirty towell in room. Wery wery worn out rooms.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice large room with a large balcony and with a beautiful view of the sea and the whole coast. Two large beds were very comfortable. The beach itself, as well as the large outdoor pool, has to be crossed on a busy road, but there is an indoor pool and two smaller outdoor saltwater pools, with comfortable sun loungers and parasols and a lounge bar. Breakfast and dinner buffets provide a varied selection. The restaurants have a reserve in the choice of soups. The service of guests on the outdoor restaurant terrace could be slightly enhanced. Ancient Piran is a convenient bus ride for a small fee. I recommend visiting nearby Sečoveljske Soline and Thalasso spa Lepo Vida.
7,1 Good
Pros: Food generally very good with wide variety of dishes but supply was a little slow to replenish empty items at busy times. Rooms were very comfortable and clean and bathroom of exceptional quality. Good position with an amazing outdoor swimming pool and sunbathing area with plenty of sun beds !!
Cons: May be of no consequence to many but the automatic Coffe machines at breakfast were useless only producing tiny amounts per cycle creating long queues of disgruntled guests.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: i have been number times in this hotel i have noticed the quality of food went down this time.
Cons: No access to the sea from swimming pool we had to go out from the swimming area to the road to get to sea
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Kind staff, really good cuisine, comfy rooms
Cons: The bartender girl made me an awful cocktail. She can not even smile or chat. The maid wanted to come in the morning (7:30) on our check-out day (checkout is until 11).
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Large room with two large beds
Cons: Food choice and taste was a below expectation
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Many choices available at breakfast and dinner, good food. Very friendly hotel staff, always ready to serve. Quit swimming pool in the hotel and very great swimming pool just across the road. If you looking for rest, place to be.
Cons: Connection between bar and inside swimming pool, this could be approved.

Pros: Good place, with dedicated parking - Bar open as needed to get a good beer after the way there. Personal was fine and as well the breakfast was quite nice. Appreciate the fruits and overall happy with stay

9,2 Excellent
Pros: The view from my balcony and the quiet location
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Nice location close to Piran, Isola and other interesting places. Good breakfast, nice room
Cons: nothing
7,5 Good
Pros: Rooms were clean but very basic, although it offers a very pretty view on the salt-lakes and the sea. Nothing wrong with this hotel but you would expect to find it in a lower price-range. Location is good, nearby a lot of beautiful villages such as Piran, Trieste, Koper..
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Room&balcony view very good. Most of staff very friendly. Countryside nice. Easy to reach other small cities arround.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Our room was very spacious and we even had a large balcony. Food was perfect, very delicious, for everyone's taste. We enjoyed swimming in modern pools with heated sea water and thermal water. Safe parking is also avaliable nearby.
Cons: The beach
9,2 Excellent
Pros: I stayed in a double room at Hotel Neptun with one of my sons aged 3. It's close to the beach and features an indoor playground, so I'd recommend it for families. The staff at the hotel restaurant was really very nice, the food at breakfast and dinner was delicious, with a wide variety of food on offer, including some Istrian specialties. Our room was always clean and very big for a double room. I'd definitely choose that hotel again, and I would recommend it to friends.
Cons: The only thing I disliked was that the price per night was relatively high.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great location near many restaurants. Amazing sea spa with comfortable beds and good umbrellas. Very good breakfast.
Cons: Many stairs. Breakfast only untill 10.00 am. No light on the balcony (centrally operating untill 22.00 pm, but our light was on only 1 evening of our 6 night stay). Only 1 small elevator for guests and staff.
7,9 Good

Pros: Really nice room, amazing breakfast and dinner
Cons: X
8,8 Excellent
Cons: Very expensive drinks at the restaurant
7,9 Good
Pros: Very nice room. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was very tasty!!
Cons: The garbage bin in the bathroom wasn't empty and full of rotten vegetables. But they cleaned everything after we mentioned it.
6,3 Good
Pros: Lovely pool. Nice Staff.Excellent breakfast. Nature.
Cons: I didn't like the lack of direct access to the sea from the hotel and hotel does not have own area by the sea. I was placed in a room on the 1st floor with no balcony and a view of the wall, someone else's fence at a distance of 1 meter. And that's for 542 euros for 2 night for Genius traveler! I think the room takes a prize for my travels as the most expensive of the worst.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Room was good size with nice view from the balcony. Very good breakfast and dinner.
Cons: Breakfast area is outdated and needs some renovation.
7,9 Good
Pros: Very comfortable and modern room with some some lovely extra touches such as a pillow menu and responsive housekeeping. Great view from balcony. Exceptional breakfast
Cons: The gym attracted an additional charge, as did parking which wasn't clear at the time of booking. It also wasn't clear that the hotel pool which is heavily marketed on the site was across a road a few minutes from the hotel. Pool bar slow service, not enough staff.
7,5 Good
Pros: We liked the spacious room and a lovely balcony
Cons: We had to pay up to €6 for water. The hotel refused to serve a tap water. Also had to pay for parking which was very expensive
5,8 Okay
Pros: The pool area was great, huge pool with extra kids pool and activities on daily. The bed was comfy and big.
Cons: The breakfast selection was big but the cooked food was poor quality. They advertise soundproofing but we could hear every conversation of the neighbours and could hear everything going on in room. The hotel is more of a block of rooms since everything, including check in, is at the sister hotel. The balcony was roomy and nice but the surrounding trees and plants had started to overtake it and we ended up covered in mosquito bites after sitting out for only 5 mins. The shower was lovely but caused you to flood the bathroom as there was no door and the water temperature varied greatly. The hotel had many signs encouraging eco friendly practice, you were asked to hang up towels if you wish to keep them and place on floor of shower if wish new towels. Each day we hung up our towels and each day we were given new towels!
7,9 Good
Pros: Clean and beaitiful room! Nice hotel staff. Delucious food!
Cons: The outdoorpool wasn't hygenic. At the entrance we were asked to go trought a dirty water, which may contain a lot of diseases and bacteria! It was quite awful and shouldn't take place in a 5-stars hotel! The pool bar service wasnt proffesional. Still forgot about our order or didnt want to sell the baverages which we ordered, the women seemed to be very lazy and not energetic! We also have to complain that it was not possible to switch off the lighting system on the balcony during the night! We couldnt sleep because of this issue!

Pros: Lovely hotel in the centre of Piran. Excellent
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Everything was ok
5,4 Okay
Cons: Staff was particulary rude, not helpful for The parking explanations, which is quite painful at Piran. Bathrooms in our room smelled a lot.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The location of this hotel is fabulous! Amazing view of the square from our room. Stylish hotel and comfortable bed.
Cons: The WiFi didn’t work.
5,8 Okay
Pros: The breakfast variety and quality was very good. It has an elevator. The morning staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: The bathroom smelled like sewer gas. The trash can next to the toilet had not been emptied after the last guest. Getting in and out of the parking garage was cumbersome. The price was good, though.
6,3 Good
Pros: Only the location
Cons: Not our style of hotel. Cold concrete floors, small room w/ no horizontal space, glass chard chandelier, barren walls - nothing warm and inviting, except the lovely staff.
7,5 Good
Pros: Perfect location, comfortable beds. Good breakfast buffet. Wonderful sitting outside in the cafe, watching life unfold on Tartini Square.
Cons: There was a smell of damp emanating from the bathroom.
9,1 Excellent
Pros: First and foremost, it was the people that really made this a great stay for us. Everyone was very kind and made getting in and out with our car and luggage really simple, which can be difficult in Piran. Also, we received wonderful recommendations during our stay, as well as some really good ideas on what to do on our trip to Bled. Room had incredible view. Best location.
Cons: The room was pretty tiny, not that we spent a ton of time there. Overall, could be ready for some slight updating. Bathroom wasn't the cleanest I've ever seen, but far from the dirtiest. Elevator only goes to 4, so if you're on 5 you have to walk up an awkward little staircase with your luggage. No big deal for us, but might be for some.
7,5 Good
Pros: Breakfast area.
Cons: Room doors are not soundproof enough. The room is too loud.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Although the website promised a restaurant and a roof top bar that did't exist, we absolutely enjoyed our stay and will gladly come back. The location is perfect except the parking for the car, that's a nightmare. The room we stayed in was very simple but quirky, clean with a beautiful little balcony overlooking the bay.
Cons: I would have prefered a coffee machine in the room but there are so many places around it didn't really matter. Personally I always prefer places that to not include breakfast.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Location. Large bed. Town is lovely. Good view of the square from the room. Close to restaurants and swimming.
Cons: The service was poor. No assistance with luggage when i was by myself with 2 large cases and other bags as my partner attended to parking the car. Lack of clear explanation of complex parking situation. When i suggested that they write the information about parking down in English the staff member was rude and insinuated that she had clearly explained the instructions to us in English. We had to ask her twice as what she said did not make senae. She explained the same thing to another couple in front of me and they did not seem to understand either. Both myself and my partner are high ranking professionals in government and are not stupid. The room was small, lack of space to put large luggage. Bathroom was as appealing as a disabled toilet. Shower tiny. A distict lack of any signs of luxury. Towels thin and small. Toiletries cheap. Lack of blinds to the window, forced to lean out of the window to close the shutters which was hard. Breakfast was very average. Hotel says it has a bar on a terrace. It's not open. Restaurant they put on their website is also not open for meals other than breakfast. Room furniture is cheap.

Pros: The hotel itself might get 3 star in other countries... but our room was clean, quite spacious and the balcony was also big. The elevator is fast, the air condition works. They are lacking parking lots but the bellboy took the car to the nearest parking. The only sweetwater pool of the hotel complex is located in this hotel, but you can use the facilities of any of the hotels (sea spa, thermal spa, kid's room). Sunbeds at the beach were included in the price. On the beach there's animation for the kids and mini disco at some evenings. You can use your room number for consumption also at the beach restaurant and bars. At the buffet there's always lots of fruits and we always found some tasty soups and/or main dishes. There are always some seafood at dinner and pancakes at breakfast :)
Cons: The staff was friendly until you complied; causing them any trouble changed the attitude and were sometimes even rude. Big part of the staff doesn't speak English. You can have dinner either from 7 or 8 p.m. that you have to choose at the beginning and is not flexible. This hotel is the furthest from the sea and is on the hill so you have to take a lot of steps climbing up from the beach. Food was boring after 3 days - the choice for breakfast was the same every day. The safe was out of order in the room.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great. The private beach is very nice, with plenty of space. Crew was very nice and helpful.
Cons: Location is a bit problematic, some distance from the beach although the organized path. Parking is a big issue, though it's probably because it was August.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The swimming pool and terme were awesome. Hotel is very clean. Breakfast was great. The beach is also very near as well as city center.
Cons: They charge you 6 Eur for using bath coat and towel. In a hotel which declares itself as a spa hotel.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Reception staff is great, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is excellent.
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: Sea spa area is nice, outdoor pool is pleasant. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: You have to pay for parking 5 Eur/day but there is never enough space at the hotel, we had to park our car at another hotel and then climb up the hill. They charge 6 Eur for a bathrobe. Room was not very clean, terrible view, hotel is very far from the spa, you have to climb several stairs and walk to get there. It is advertised as family hotel but you have to book family room to get facilities for children. Hotel is up on the hill, far from the beach and promenade.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast; very nice and helpful staff. Quite a big room.
Cons: Air conditioning could work better in the room.
6,3 Good
Pros: We liked the different swimming pools
Cons: Hôtel too far from the sea front The personnal not very welcoming Carpark at 500m from hotel down hill so to get back 123 steps inappropriate for old people and children
7,1 Good
Pros: The location was great and room spacious. Breakfast was good and healthy. There were many services in the hotel group.
Cons: The hotel was not as family-friendly as described in booking.com and hotel broshure. The room was not like in pictures for family room, there was no kid’s corner in restaurant, no toys available like in all marketing photos. Many stairs to get into the other parts of the hotel group, which was not very convenient with a stroller. Also the terme spa area was under constraction which was not mentioned when booking. The service was not really good.
7,1 Good
Pros: Big clean room whith big terrace. Good dinner and cheap parking. Good pools whith sea water and thermal water.
Cons: Very far away from the sea. 7 day same breakfast. Not have any beach, only concrete stair in the sea.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and dinner excellent. Staff very politely and kind.
Cons: Parking place, garage is too expensive.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable hotel located near the seaside. Rooms were perfectly clean and the staff has helped me with anything I needed. The breakfast could be a little bit more various.
Cons: Small restaurant, the same breakfast every day, moreover you have to pay for the drinks at the dinner and these are quite expensive and not worth it.
5,8 Okay
Pros: The hotel is at the end of the beach so it is not as loud as it would be closer to the center of the area. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The pillows were of very bad quality: very hard to sleep on. The buffet breakfast was of very low quality as well but it is probably a normal level for a 3 star hotel.
6,3 Good

Cons: The family room is just bigger with more beds.
7,1 Good

Pros: This 3 stars hotel is o.k. We spent only one night here. The stuff is young and helpful. The amenities is basic, but there is a swimming pool with sea water, like in may hotels in Portoroz . Food was good. Great value for money!
