Pienza bed & breakfasts

Pros: La Città Ideale Suites is a super romantic place in the middle of Pienza. We travelled as a couple and fall in love with the village and the accommodation. The place was super clean, authentic and the balcony offers a fantastic view over the roofs of Pienza. The included breakfast was very delicious and cozy. Communication to the host worked out perfectly and all in all nothing to complain. We will come back.

Pros: Very kind owner and also helpful. The room is clean and big. Completely quiet at night so that i had a good sleep. The breakfast is excellent including ham, egg, fruits, and deserts.

Pros: Ambience, friendly with excellent breakfast.

Cons: a few Tuscan accessories such as wine glasses, a sharpish knife & plate would have enhanced the experience.

Pros: Location was nice. Had a mini fridge with coffee maker. The breakfast was great although you had to leave the building and walk around the corner to another bed and breakfast to have it. Downstairs area was spacious (not the bedroom loft which was unusable)

Cons: This place has NO WIFI, but you can use the wifi at the bed and breakfast around the corner. The loft has steep stairs and a low ceiling (can't stand up.) Had to make international phone call to get access at check in. Was told we were sent an email giving instructions on how to find the key, but we didn't get it at all.

Pros: Very spacious and delightfully furnished rooms in an old house in the heart of this beautiful town. Fridge and coffee-making gear (with ground coffee provided) were very welcome. Nice staff, nice breakfast. It was a great choice.

Cons: The wi-fi in our room didn’t work, but we had permanent access to the breakfast room in a nearby building, where the connection was excellent.

Pros: The location. The space in the room. Comfortable bed.

Cons: Wifi not working. Had to spend a lot of time on arrival finding parking.

Pros: The location is beautiful, with gorgeous views from the roof terrace. The decor of the suite was very Italian and tasteful. The woman who served breakfast in a nearby b&b was very friendly.

Cons: On our last 2 out of 3 nights the air conditioning did not work. We reported this to the manager, Carla, on the morning after night 2 (the first night of no air con) who said she'd try to get someone out and worst case scenario would provide a fan. After much to-ing and fro-ing, including us being asked to vacate the apartment for 19:15 and then, when we'd done so, being told her key didn't work to let the repair man in, we had a second night of unbearable heat and no further mention of a fan. Notably, our room was cleaned daily, with the suite being entered using the same keys. When it came to payment on departure Carla expected us to pay the full cost regardless. I reminded her that we'd been unable to sleep for a second night due to the absence of functioning air con and the resulting high temperature of the suite and the grinding noise the broken machine had been making at 2min intervals. She responded by saying 'well it's very hot at the moment'. I reminded her that this was the point of air con and that the room had been much cooler on the first night, when it still worked. She then said the machine was 'not big enough for the room'. Her eventual concession was to remove €60 from our €459 bill. In short, I fully appreciate problems can arise, but the manner in which Carla handled the issue was unprofessional and abrasive, as well as falling short of taking into account, in our final bill, the fact that we did not receive what we had signed up for - ie. a suite with functioning air conditioning.
