Pros: Class hotel in super location. Staff friendly and efficient (as one would expect in Germany). Beautiful drawing, reading room next the lobby. Our car was parked and retrieved by a staff member in the nearby public car park which was great. Hotel is on the banks of Danube so availed of 45 minute cruise of Passau which was great value at €12. Dined in a lovely restaurant near the next bridge up past the Rathaus called Zum Alten Bräuhaus which seemed to be a real locals place. Great uncomplicated, local food. 9,5 Excellent
Pros: The location in the old town, next to the river and close to restaurants, bars a museum and arts centre where jazz jam sessions occurred on both nights we were there. The hotel appears modest from the outside but is charming and spacious in character, as are the rooms. Breakfast was excellent and because the weather was good, was taken on the terrace over looking the river Danube. We were able to take drinks on this terrace, but, despite the hotel displaying a sign saying restaurant, it was not operating while we were there. The garage below the hotel was easy to access and made life easy for we, car borne visitors.
Cons: We had no complaints!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good and garage for the car.
Cons: The room was far a way from the elevator; 17 steps up and sloping ceiling.

Pros: The breakfast was very good. The personnel was kind and service minded. The location is close to Passau. Now there were roadworks, so I had to take a small detour to come to the hotel, but that was no problem.
Cons: No comment
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Stuff very friendly and enjoy to help
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and professional staff, very good breakfast, relaxed atmosphere, clean, beautifull environment.
Cons: An elevator would be convenient, it was hard taking the luggage to the second floor. And either airco or musquito nets would also be helpful, it was warm in the room and we couldn’t open the windows to avoid insects coming in.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We liked the location, a few kilometers from the city centre, but still in the countryside, right on the Austrian border. We stayed only night at Waldschloss but would love tot come back! We got a very large room and slept very well because the surroundings are very quiet.
Cons: Nothing really.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean and spacious and had a fridge stocked with snacks. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: It was during a heatwave and the lack of air conditioning meant we had to open our windows so were disturbed by traffic noise.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location is up on a hill outside of the downtown and takes less than 10 minutes drive to get to downtown or old town. It's an awesome location and awesome property. They have a beer garden, wine cellar, areas for parties, indoor and outdoor dining. It did take FOREVER to get anyone to come to the front desk to check in and also to check out. The negatives about my stay were that they must have been having some kind of celebration and while that's awesome and fine, the walls must be very thin and the doors not very sound-proof because all night and into the very early hours of the morning I heard kids and teenagers or young adults running through the hallways and yelling and frolicking about. The bed wasn't that comfortable and another pillow should definitely be on the bed since the pillow that was there was very flattened from a lot of use. There was an oil bottle with the sticks that smelled the entire room up and it was a soapy disgusting smell. I moved that out onto the balcony the second I came into the room. I realize hotels think that's a nice touch but what they don't take into consideration is that there are tons of people (like myself) who are hyper-sensitive to smells and who don't appreciate anything like that. It would have been so much better had it been an enjoyable citrus or clean scent. Not something that reminded me of my 90-year old grandma's 50-year old perfume. But, I loved my room 11 and it was on the first floor and with the only balcony I could account for, which was totally awesome. The staff were super friendly, nice and helpful. The parking is super convenient. The locale is pretty and it was awesome to look out the window and see such a nice view. I honestly would stay here every time I go to Passau just because I was so impressed with this property. Everything in the hotel looked great. I only wish I hadn't dilly-dallied around so long in the morning and missed breakfast.
Cons: No oil scented sticks of any kind, EVER! No fragrances of any kind, EVER! Needs either a new pillow or another pillow. The one in the room was very flat and didn't offer any support for neck/back. The soap dispenser in room 11 doesn't work so I had to unscrew it to use soap.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The castle is fantastic, it is entirely renewed with style. The environement is fantastic, the garden ideal for children, the breakfast suitable what you can have in the garden as well. The room was big enough and well equiped. We will come back. Orsolya Hungary

Pros: Food in the restaurant was excellent. Fantastic meat and friendly service. Breakfast was quite good but don't come too late as the refilling of foods didn't happen
Cons: Very loud street noise and the rooms were badly insulated so you were disturbed by guests outside on the terrace. No aircon in room, boiling hot and stuffy. Old carpets on the floor. All in all could do with some updating

3,8 Mediocre
Pros: Nice and Clean , Good room size.
Cons: Our car was broken down and been waiting 4 days in the city for parts to be delivered. From the garage said that Our car should be ready in Monday around 6 pm . We kindly ask the receptionist if there is a chance to stay 2-3 h after the check out time ( 11am) and she wants to charge us €88 for that ( which is the standard value for one night in the hotel ) . I think is very unreasonable , after we stay in the hotel for 3 nights and pay € 350, without food and drings . After that we need to stay on the street for 5-6 h . Completely anti customer service . Really disappointed , unfriendly staff and bad located! Not recommended to anyone!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly lady checked us in, the waiter repeatedly inquired whether everything was to our liking. We felt pampered.
Cons: We parked in front of the hotel and when a thunderstorm threatened, we wanted to move the car to the underground garage, but couldn't find it. From the direction we had approached the hotel we couldn't see the large writing on the garage. A sign would have helped.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Helpful staff, comfy large room, good shower large beds, good quality bedding, large filling breakfast,it had a door key an actual key,on site parking decent restaurant
Cons: A bit out of the centre of town and a bit pricey.

Cons: Dinner not possible in the evening. No place
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was well laid out. Ample size for bedroom and bathroom. Plenty of outlets, functional workspace, and fast, trouble free wi-fi. The onsite restaurant was quite quite. The staff was very helpful answering questions about the area, helping arrange a taxi, etc.
Cons: I booked hotel and then discovered it was 1km up a steep hill! To someone with a car, not a problem. However I'd just bicycled 60 miles into Passau, and was dead tired. Not the hotel's fault at all-- just a lesson to me to think in *three* dimensions considering location!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and professional staff. Very good food breakfast and restaurant
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location, quiet and not too far from Passau downtown and train station, about 10 minutes in the car or bus. Quiet hotel. Kind and helpful staff.

Pros: Nice small hotel in a scenic location in a scenic town. Staff was super friendly and the breakfast fare was wonderful. Easy walk to many historic and interesting places in Passau.
Cons: While I liked most things, I believe the listing or Yelp indicated that the hotel had a restaurant (beyond breakfast). Apparently they did have one but we were told they can't get a cook to run it. Not a big deal just good to know.

Cons: The wi-fi was terrible. Neither my wife nor I could get it to function properly. Breakfast was ok, but when I have stayed at other properties in the area, the selection is a bit larger. Also the bed was two twin beds pushed together rather than a larger bed.

Pros: Beautiful hotel with views of the rivers. Excellent location near the tip of the peninsula.
Cons: No coffee machine in room. Coffee was available only in the restaurant.

Pros: Breakfast was a simple but addiquate buffet. Nice rooms with most stuff (hairdryer, tv, fridge,...) nicely fitted in the room. Just a few minutes walkingdistance from the Danube with lots of pubs, restaurants and sightseeing.
Cons: As the breakfastroom is rather small, maybe work with bookingtimes for breakfast when the occupancy is high. A ventilator in the room during hot weather would be an improvement.

Pros: Fabulous hotel in a very central location in Passau. Very clean bedrooms and bathrooms. Lovely and plentiful breakfast. Friendly staff. Would have scored this hotel as excellent if it had air conditioning. It was particularly hot when we visited in July and the room was stifling respite the fan. I do appreciate however it won’t always be that hot and also that the hotel is very old and possibly difficult to install air conditioning. It was a great stay and would thoroughly recommend and would definitely staff again.
Cons: Lack of air conditioning but as I said above understand the reasons why it perhaps hasn’t been installed.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: location and spacious room, good breakfast
7,5 Good
Pros: We had requested a room facing the river which they did not have, to make amends they gave us a free upgrade which was a very nice room but facing the street and construction. Luckily we were there for one night only and the construction was bearable. The breakfast is very nice, beds were comfortable.
Cons: Renovation in process.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was easy to find, Opposite the train station, an d there was ample parking (Fee applies) below the hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and served from 6:30am which was perfect for our early start.
Cons: The hotel was undergoing some renovation but that wasn’t intrusive to our stay.
7,5 Good
Pros: Close to the railway station and close to the historical Centre.
Cons: It seemed a bit outdated. Quite overpriced.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and the easy and cheap parking.
Cons: Swimming pool out of service during our full stay (7 days)
6,3 Good
Pros: nothing
Cons: rooms are not really clean, booked for 4 persoon, but there is only for 2 persoon equitment(2 pillows and blanket).
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: Very Close to the train station
Cons: Air Conditioning not working, TV not working. No iron or ironing board in the room. Wifi not working great. Hair dryer really old hand attached to the wall. You have to keep pressing the on button for it to work. Breakfast was buffet style but just ok. Eggs scrambled tasted very bland, bacon half cooked. However the breakfast sausage were awesome. I would not recommend or come back to this hotel.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The surroundings around the hotel.
Cons: The hotel itself. The pictures on the website showed a very lovely hotel, but in fairness the place looked old, the price very high, the swimming pool was closed and didn’t advertised it on the website, overall very disappointing, wouldn’t recommend it.
6,3 Good
Pros: The breakfast was great, and as an English man the breakfast tea was the best I have had in Europe. Also the location and parking was excellent.
Cons: The hotel rooms are very basic and old fashioned. I wanted to treat my wife to the executive room, it was very basic. The WiFi was also very poor. Unfortunately for me and my wife the hotel is undergoing some reservations. Not one mention of this on the advert or by the staff as you check in. Then at 0700 the building work started right under our room drilling over and over again. What we needed after driving 1000kms was a rest. Very angry with this. Also we made a complaint and 4 hours later still no response. I expect the hotel hope we will just except this. I will not. Typical chain hotels ripping of customers in my opinion
7,9 Good
Pros: * convenient location opposite the main station * very quiet
Cons: * comfortable but old fashioned room * left luggage room at your own risk. Not locked, with no control over who goes in or out.
