Pros: Dinner in the restaurant was incredible
Cons: Bathroom needed a remodel
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Very efficient and friendly staff, Very comfortable sitting areas on the ground floor and the Bar, excellent location!
Cons: The breakfast room on the top 8th floor, has a beautiful view and the buffet breakfast itself was of a good quality and rich variety. The problem is that the space is too small to meet the demand of a hotel of full occupancy and one had to queue first to secure a table and second to help himself/herself from the buffet. This does not do justice to an otherwise excellent hotel. Moreover the heating in the rooms did not function very satisfactorily.
7,5 Good
Pros: Very nice new bar at the top of the hotel, also used as a breakfast room.
Cons: Not as attentive as in the past - no Christmas cookies and card anymore, breakfast buffet much smaller with less choice, price still very high.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Service was impeccable, food was delicious, especially upstairs on the rooftop. Killer view. Oh, and the mattress and bedsheets are of high quality - you'll sleep very well.

9,4 Excellent
Pros: - great location: next to Syntagma square, all the main tourist places are within walking distance - great breakfast: very good variety of savoury and sweet dishes, - Nice, large, clean and comfortable room: room and hotel are well maintained
Cons: - we booked a double room and added "double bed" in our request, but for some reason, it was not communicated to the hotel (too many intermediary agents?) - so we were given twin room. The hotel was full and couldn't change our room. Make sure to email the hotel directly after booking!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Location is 100 metres from transport hub and central place of the city - Syntagma. Staff are friendly and helpful. Dining options in front bar are good value. Views of the Acropolis, the Parliament and Botanical Gardens from the roof.
Cons: WiFi was a nightmare. The code kept changing and was very difficult to get the hang of unless you are into IT in a big way.. Pop music at breakfast over a creaky rustling sound system should be a no no. Breakfast itself was very good (though some fish options might have been expected).
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast! And we got our room upgraded when we back from Meteora, this is awesome!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Good location; right next to Syntagma Square and easy walk to the Acropolis, Plaka and restaurants. Breakfast offers a large selection of items to choose from. 10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and an excellent view of the Acropolis. Location superb, easy walking distance to the city centre and shopping areas.
Cons: Room too hot.
4,0 Okay
Cons: In short: I've been mistakenly charged for a canceled booking; for an active one I've been pre-charged 40% more than the actual cost of stay; the staff was reluctant to deal with these issues; in the end I've been refunded but treated like a pesky customer without any apology or recognition of the property's fault. Situation: - Two months prior I had canceled one booking and made a new one in this hotel. - Three weeks prior to my arrival I was pre-charged for the canceled booking. - For two weeks the property didn't respond to messages sent through booking.com while their page claims 15-hour average response time. I decided to address the issue once I'm in the hotel. - Upon my arrival we've established that there was an issue on the side of the hotel. For some reason their internal system still had my second booking while it had been canceled on booking.com for two months by that point. - Once we've established there was an issue with the property's internal system, they were still reluctant to refund the cancellation charge claiming that it is their policy although the booking.com confirmation email stated 100% free cancellation. - To get my money back it took two days and my outspoken intention to report to the local government agency overseeing the tourism industry. - The property have neither admitted their fault nor provided any kind of an apology.

9,0 Excellent (2 087 reviews)

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Herodion Athens, you'll be centrally located in Athens, just a 3-minute walk from Acropolis Museum and 6 minutes by foot from Odeon of Herodes Atticus. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk.
6,8 Good
Pros: The lobby was beautiful with artistic wire statues and a bar/restaurant with trees growing through it. The staff is very professional and tries to be very helpful (though both times I stayed at the hotel there was not a doorman to greet me and carry my luggage up the steps). Gorgeous rooftop bar and a nice jacuzzi area on the floor below it.
Cons: We stayed at the hotel 2 nights--one at the beginning of our trip and one at the end. The first room we had at the beginning of our trip literally reminded me of a hostel I'd once stayed at--the bed was a hard board looking thing with a gross looking red coverlet (not even a comforter). We also did not get one bed but instead, two twins pushed together. When I returned on the last leg of my trip I mentioned this but they only had one room left and put me in an equally bad room (only after accidentally giving me the key to an occupied room). This room at least had better beds and bedding but because it was on the first floor, it had no natural sunlight (blocked by the building) and made me feel as if I was staying in someone's basement. It was also a smaller room than the first and we struggled to find a place out of the way to put both of our suitcases. The air conditioner also leaked water. It's a shame--beautiful hotel but sadly the rooms are not up to par. Perhaps at $200 US dollars/night I didn't spend enough to get a nice room?
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great. Close to restaurants and tourist areas.
Cons: Breakfast was okay but expected a bit more for the price.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great value for money, well located close to the Acropolis, nice common areas and pleasant breakfast room. Rooms are well equipped and very clean.
Cons: Bathroom a bit dated, but very clean. No issues. Room had no view, but for the money, more than acceptable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptionally kind and attentive staff, excellent location, clean, comfortable room
Cons: N/a
9,1 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is great, with easy access to the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum and the Acropolis Metro. Make sure to ask for an outside facing room as some rooms can be small and cramped. The downstairs lobby area is very nice with a good atmosphere to sit and talk or to read/write.
Cons: Sometimes the rooms can be cramped and dark. Sometimes cab drivers can't locate it, but just tell them to drop you off by the Acropolis Museum and you can navigate it easily.
7,9 Good
Pros: The reception staff were a credit to your company
Cons: We had a terrible leak in our shower room, if we had had children it would have been a massive safety issue
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is the perfect location for exploring Athens. Safe Street, restaurants and shopping nearby, immediately adjacent to the modern and magnificent Acropolis museum. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very quiet and the rooftop view of the Acropolis is spectacular.
7,5 Good
Pros: Breakfast excellent, location great, rooms comfy, huge bed, would go back
Cons: Hot tubs, excellent view but only one working and the card from reception gives you only 15 minutes bubbles. Hassle to get more.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice lobby/bar/restaurant area that was actually used and people hung out. Staff very helpful in arranging anything from rental cars to extended stays.
Cons: The "sound proofing" of the room could be better
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The included Breakfast was fabulous! Fresh strained juices and high quality food. Staff was very attentive and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. View was as advertised and gorgeous! On site restaurant was not only gorgeous but had great quality and highly trained chefs. Close to the best neighborhoods in Athens which allowed us to explore solely on foot and tour buses.
Cons: Technology could have been better - WiFi was painfully slow. Thermostat in the room did not function as it should - heat was either on or off which required us to open the window in the winter.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, very good location, super friendly staff
Cons: Hot tub was not warm, no irons in the room inconvenient
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great and the breakfasts were the best.

6,0 Good
Pros: Decent 3 stars hotel but weak for 5. Room is small (got an “upgrade” to superior room a which was 15 meters), swimming pool is tiny, personnel is ok but does look like they are ready to go extra mile. Photos don’t really match the actual situation
6,0 Good
Cons: WiFi was very very poor, especially for 5 star hotel standards
9,1 Excellent
Pros: I was on a tour. The first night was on me. very good room and this extended to second night. Off i went on the tour and returned for last night. This room was very small and nothing like the first night. There was painting and construction on floor and we had to pass through this to get to the room. The hotel did call to let me know about the length of work and offered a new room. I was too tired to move. They did send up a lovely tray of fruit and bottle water. I think the size of the room was picked by the tour not the hotel. The staff was great.
Cons: The business center. Not personal at all. I walked in asking about the getting a boarding pass. The lady pointed to the computer. I explained that I was not knowledgeable about computers. I was told to key in my airline and follow instructions. No help. She was not busy. I guest I look like a tourist and not a business person.

Pros: Our family enjoyed the rooftop pool as a wonderful break from sightseeing, and the included breakfast far exceeded expectations !!

Pros: Wifi in the room was very good, thanks for that. Beds was comfortable, nice sleep

Pros: The hotel is well-maintained, and has a fantastic service-oriented staff. The room was well air-conditioned, and very comfortable (definitely recommend getting a balcony).
Cons: The location is just a bit outside of most tourist and restaurant areas. However, there are two metros very close by that take you right where you need to be.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel for a very reasonable price.
Cons: A little difficult to find on initial trip.
6,8 Good
Pros: Location.
Cons: Charging for breakfast.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great staff! They upgraded my room for me upon arrival. Super sweet and respectful. Very clean and great location. Great lighting! The ceiling above my bed had small glow in the dark dots that looked like stars! Super cute!
Cons: The only thing I didn’t like was my room was hot, I wanted to keep the windows open but it was really loud outside. I tried to put the AC ( i know it’s December but I was really warm) but the AC wasn’t working it just kept putting more heat. I had to wake up in the middle of the night and take a cold shower in order to go back to sleep without sweating so much. I didn’t call reception because I was too shy to ask for help since it was 2 am.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent! The location is tough for non-greeks. It should be pointed-out, however, that the hotel has a parking garage, which is extremely relevant for travelers who use a car. Given that I am greek-american, and usually travel alone, I can manage easily.
Cons: The hotel's location offers some challenges currently. It is a relatively safe area, however, one should be careful especially when traveling with family without their own vehicle.

Pros: Well located at walking distance from the things to visit in Athens. Private underground parking space, which is needed because finding parking place on the street in Athens is hell.. The hotel is beautiful, modern, clean, had everithing you can wish, a fantastic rooftop bar with restaurant, rooftop swimming pool and terraces. The room was big, comfy and clean. But above all I liked the dedication and friendliness of the staff, an absolute winning team!

Cons: The location was terrible and the staff was extremely unhelpful. I fell down a staircase and not one person offered to help me up or ask if I was ok. The hotel room was filthy and full of flies. I felt extremely unsafe staying there and DO NOT recommended this hotel to anyone in the future. The bathroom was also dirty I had to clean the tub myself before I could even use it as it was filled with debris and hair. Overall the experience was awful.

Pros: The view was great.
Cons: In Europe the rooms are very small.
8,8 Excellent
Cons: Quality of shower materials
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Due to extensive flight delays we missed the first night of our reservation at St. George and did not arrive in Athens until 6AM. However, we forgot all about our troubles almost immediately after checking into this superb hotel. 1. Without even telling us they upgraded our room to the front side of the hotel which had absolutely incredible views of the Acropolis from our balcony. While it wasn't a large room (they never are in Europe!), it was clean, the bed was great, and the bathroom was perfectly OK. 2. Despite our exhaustion, we dragged ourselves out of bed just in time to catch breakfast. Went up to the 6th floor and was blown away by the 360 views of Athens. We asked if we could just grab a plate of food from the buffet (delicious selection) and take it back down to our room. Not only did they say yes, but they had someone carry our food down to the room ON A SILVER PLATTER. No jokes. Also, without even asking for it they sent with a hot carafe of coffee with STEAMED MILK. 3. On the last leg of our trip, coming back from an island, we had 12 hours to kill in Athens before heading to the airport. Despite no longer being guests for over 7 days they graciously stored our bags and let us hang out at the roof pool until we had to leave. WHAT. 4. Oh, and the pool is like a dream. Gorgeous pool with gorgeous Athens view with lounge chairs and great music. Happy hour is from 7-9 offering 6 euro cocktails. The neighborhood this hotel is in is really great and completely safe as it is where all the embassies are located. Since it's on a hill be prepared to climb! It is worth it as there are very charming buildings, great cafes, shops, and restaurants. You can be in Kolonaki (walking) in 15-20 minutes. There is a metro stop 7 blocks away that goes directly to the airport. WHY WOULD YOU STAY ANYWHERE ELSE? I know I won't be.... Thank you St. George! You made our trip.

Pros: The rooftop pool and terrace dining were spectacular.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing stay, welcoming staff, very nice breakfast with one of the best view ! Also the spa was a wonderful experience! Will definitely come back.
7,5 Good
Pros: Very good location.
Cons: Everything was perfect
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant staff view
Cons: It is on a hill which is difficult to get down if it is raining.
6,8 Good
Pros: Most of the staff was helpful and friendly with only a couple exceptions. Located in a safer/nice side of town that is much more quiet. Atm and money exchange available. Nice pool area and great pool staff but not enough sun chairs/space.
Cons: The spa wasn't open for all of my four day stay except for one day. The one day they were open they only had massage capabilities available (ie no facials or nail treatments etc) so I went ahead and booked a massage with the only therapist available. I found the male massage therapist to be a bit unprofessional and the massage was oddly touchy. For example it seemed like he was trying to rub his body on the sides of mine while giving my massage. The breakfast buffet is 22 euros and a lot of the food was cold including meat and eggs which is dangerous! All food at this hotel is pretty over priced. No hot tub as advertised? Dirty/moldy between bathroom tiles. If they call a taxi for you the ride is 3 euros more expensive
6,5 Good
Pros: I like the location.
Cons: Room interior dated. Bathroom poor quality. Breakfast was expensive and poor quality. Although at the end since I complained they did not charge for for one and I did not use for the rest of the days. If I conclude if they were advertising it for a 3 star hotel I would have put my best comments and I would have set my exoectations but for a 5 star, not at all met my expectation.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was immaculately clean and the staff incredibly friendly. The location was also great with a view from the bar to die for
Cons: The one negative for us was that on New Year’s Eve the bar was closed to hotel residents unless you opted to attend the €190 black tie ball or pay €70 each (you got 2 free drinks) just to get into the bar after midnight only. Nowhere was this mentioned when we booked the hotel and seemed very unfair that the facilities we were paying for in our room rate were being denied to us on this night as there was no other bar in the hotel for us to go to

Pros: Small , dirty room. Not a 5 star

Pros: Very nice accommodation and really friendly staff. Excellent breakfast buffet
9,2 Excellent
Pros: It was in good proximity to the acropolis.
Cons: It was difficult for friends to find.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: The property on the inside was awesome, on the outside... surroundings...I was not impressed.
Cons: 1. We chose this hotel ONLY because the Kayak info said a "hotel shuttle" is available. We wanted to be close to the airport to fly out the next morning. We thought we would save the expense of a taxi to and from the airport. There was no shuttle. When we call the hotel, they told us no such thing as a shuttle. They would only arrange to send me a taxi @ €45.00. And this could only be arranged via email...not over the ph. We simply took a cab to the hotel # €43.00. To the airport the next morning...no shuttle. We took a taxi @ €44.00. If you people do no have a shuttle like we are use to in the US...do not mislead innocent pepole like us. That is false advertising. The availability of a shuttle in the ONLY reason why we picked this hotel. 2. At the front desk I changed out some US$ for € after checking in. We plan to do some last minute shopping before we fly out the next day. What we did not know was that, that very day was a national holiday (the Verging Mary Holiday ) all the stores were closed. On checking out the next morning they would not take back the € currency. I told them that we did not know that there was a holiday. They said they can't take it back. That was just not right. These 2 things has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I am not a happy camper...especially with the shuttle issue. That was flat out wrong. You can't say that there is a shuttle when there is none. People from the US is use to taking a free shuttle ride to and from the airport to hotels and rent a car locstions.

Pros: The hotel itself was fantastic
Cons: The area in which the hotel is located is quite downtrodden and dirty although pretty central.

Pros: Very close to everything

Pros: I loved the restaurant at the top of the building. It had an unbelievable view, with great food, and an incredibly kind and generous staff. Also, there was a cute balcony to step outside in. Also, the breakfast was amazing with some fantastic juice and snacks.
Cons: The parking was incredibly unclear. This issue wouldn't have been a problem, but with the astoundingly narrow one-way streets, I missed the unlabeled entrance and had to drive around the block as a line of honking taxis lined up behind me. Although that sounds not so bad, it took literally 45 minutes because of the narrow, winding roads, absurdly short traffic lights, and extremely high pedestrian traffic. Inside, it was fine, but having to waste so much time getting to back the hotel after such a long flight was incredibly frustrating. I strongly suggest that they put a big sign with a big arrow, so people don't make the same mistake that I did.

Pros: Location, clean, modern
Cons: Very small rooms
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Loved the hotel location, atmosphere, rooftop terrace, and staff.
Cons: The bed was really hard, like sleeping on a box spring. And the walls are super thin, we could hear the people in the next room have conversations.
7,0 Good
Pros: The staff were exceedingly helpful and the terrace bar and lobby were modern and well presented.
Cons: The door of our room scraped against the tiles and made a terrible sound every time we entered and exited the room. Also the corridor leading to the room had wallpaper peeling off the walls and was marked and the carpet was stained and appeared dirty.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great! We got upgraded from an economy twin room to a superior with a balcony! The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast was quite sufficient. The best thing however was the location. You could go everywhere in the center in no time. Full of restaurants and bars around you, however it was still very quite.

Pros: Drinks at the rooftop bar with the view of the Acropolis lit up at night is definitely a highlight!
