Pros: The APA Hotel is just across the street from the railway station. Ideal if you don't want to carry your luggage a long way. Room price was 38€ for a double which was quite good. Everything was very clean with a big TV screen. There is a restaurant / pub on the ground floor and the staff spoke good English at the reception. In general it was a nice stay.
Cons: The only thing we didn't like too much was that the window could not really be opened and that the size of the room was super small. If you enter with two suitcases or backpacks it is a logistical masterpiece to arrange everything correctly.

Pros: Spacious room and walking distance from the rail station. Tram stop out the front and you could get anywhere in town. Great view from the restaurant overlooking the bay and good selection of food for breakfast.

Pros: Big room, not a pre-fab bathroom, good view. Combini in lobby
Cons: A bit far from everything, but still walkable from train station. There is a team stop in front of the hotel, but you have climb stairs (overpass) to reach it.

Pros: The location of the hotel is really good. It’s very close to the wharf and a 10-15 minute walk to Chinatown. The staff way very sweet.

9,0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, comfortable, all facilities were up to expectation.
Cons: room space is a little too small
9,0 Excellent
Pros: I chose this hotel mostly due to a lack of options as I was booking my accommodation for the Nagasaki Lantern Festival. However, I was pleased with my stay at the Belleview Nagasaki Dejima. The location was really good. I took an express highway bus from Fukuoka to Nagasaki and it stopped right across the road from the hotel. Ohato tram station is also in front of the hotel. This made it very easy to get around Nagasaki. The free shuttle bus to the ropeway stopped at the hotel which was a bonus as it's much easier to get to via shuttle bus. The rooms were pretty standard.
Cons: There weren't as many restaurants in the direct vicinity of the hotel, but a short walk can fix that

Pros: Clean. Great Location in China Town. Parking is available on the adjacent street. But still connected to the hotel. The parking was the mechanical elevator type. However my car was too low, so they had a few stalls outside of the structure. Worked out great. Great location in the center of the Nagasaki Lantern Festival 2019.

They take their time to help you, they really are a plus point for the hotel. Rooms are comfortable with all necessities.

Cons: Place a little old and entrance was a bit hard to find when driving there.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: good breakfast on the top floor
Cons: room is a bit small
9,2 Excellent
Pros: It's a typical Japanese business hotel, but it's in a great location for exploring Nagasaki. They give you a clean Yukata and towel everyday.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Easy to find, very good location. Within walking distance from the train and bus station. The surrounding neighbourhood is quiet and there are an abundant of restaurants nearby. The room was comfortable; the bedding was just right, the bathroom was kept clean, and there were sufficient supplies in the bathroom for the one-night traveller. Overall, a very nice stay.
Cons: No real problems with the room, however if you are choosing the "smoking room" option and you're not a smoker, be ware the scent is very strong and lingers in the bedding. Since I chose it (non-smoking was not available at the time), I cannot complain about it.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Room was bigger than Japanese standards, and the location is very convenient (5 minutes from Nagasaki station)
Cons: The hotel is a bit old fashioned, but if that doesn't bother you is fine

5,0 Okay
Pros: spa view
Cons: Room wallpaper
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel has a lake view and onsen. The onsen was luxurious and the lake view was amazing. The staff was absolutely wonderful. They were so accommodating. I arrived two hours before check-in, but they gave me tea while they quickly prepared my room. I spoke to them mostly in Japanese since I knew a little, but they were kind when I didn't understand, and translated words for me. They even translated a bus schedule into English so I would be able to read it. The meals I ate there were amazing delicious experiences. (Make sure you pre-arrange meals ahead of time.) They even offered a loaner umbrella when it was raining, and told me to just leave it at the bus stop and they would come pick it up. The staff went above and beyond my expectations, and it made my stay very enjoyable.
Cons: My only suggestion to travelers is: some of the cheaper rooms don't have a lake view, so if that's important to you, double check that before you book.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We traveled to Shimabara and Unzen Onsen for the hot springs and was not disappointed! Azumaen is a short walk from Unzen Jigoku, which surpassed the photos we had seen. The staff was fantastic, very helpful and friendly. We stayed in a traditional Japanese room that was very comfortable, spacious but cozy and perfectly fit the location. The view from our room was amazing.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was ok.
Cons: Extremely difficult to communicate with the team. Spent a lot of time trying to get information and getting help from team. We were very upset when we could not get effective help when we told them we lost our money. The hotel really lacked security. 1. There was no security for the lady's onsen and anyone could access the onsen from the elevator. 2. The glass door leading to the garden and beach was kept open throughout and anyone can access this door. 3. Luke warm water in vacuum flask provided in room so we could not make tea. Thus, requested for change of hot water. The staff accessed our room to replace a new pot of hot water into room when we were not in the room.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room, although not spacious, was clean and comfortable with everything we needed which included a small fridge, hot water for tea and a large bathroom. The onsen too was very large with lovely views over the lake and beyond.
7,5 Good
Pros: Nice hotel. The room is regular. Nothing too special- two beds, bathroom which is quite spacious relative to japanese hotels.
Cons: No tea bags and coffee in the room. Only macha. Smell of the kitchen next to the room.
7,0 Good
Pros: Indoors onsen is good. The hotel is by the lake, nice view.
Cons: The western style rooms (both 315 & 316) are a bit weird. Outdoors onsen is not attractive and the water temperature is not high enough, perhaps due to the rainy day.

Cons: Nothing much!

Pros: After checked in to the hotel, we were surprise by knowing that the hotel had been established more than 300 years, even the previous Japanese Emperor been visiting the hotel. We reserved the private on-sen (open air) with fees and enjoyed the night view while soaping inside the hot water. Unzen is one of the famous on-sen city in Japan. Some people might not like the smell of the on-sen due to rich of sulfor mineral.

Pros: Location is convenient. Close to shops and bus-stop Staff helpful and friendly
Cons: The meal not what I expect.... portion is just enough

Pros: Lovely traditional ryokan just a minute away from Unzen Jigoku. The room was incredibly spacious and it was really nice to find local snacks and teas every day after the morning cleaning and the evening bed setup. Nice Japanese breakfast in the morning, that was included in our booking. Loved the private family bath! Worth the 1500 yen. The staff was super nice and helpful as well :)
Cons: The area is quite isolated, and whilst it’s great to explore the Jigoku and pond nearby, no much is left to do. Fortunately we had a car to explore the Shimabara peninsula! The main problem though was that the majority of the restaurants were closed (maybe because it’s January?).

Pros: We enjoy the onsen and is big and well facilitated.
Cons: The room is a bit old.
