The heritage of the house and grounds goes back to 1809 and includes a love story/romance of a military man killed in the War of 1812 and the daughter of a prominent man. The story is shared with each guest. The building and grounds are impeccably maintained and it is evident that the staff is proud of their facility. They treat guests in a respectful and dignified manner. And the 4 course breakfast is elegant and worth the stay in itself. A wonderful and memorable experience!
The location was a 10-12 minute walk from the main shopping area. Not a bad walk in good weather however in the rain, and with a lot of gifts and packages, it was a little long. It was still worth staying there. Nothing in the house was worth noting on the negative side.
Rick and Colleen were more than accommodating in every way. The breakfasts were top shelf and our room was beautiful. We've swtayed there every time we go to Niagara-on-the- Lake.
It was a lovely manor with very gracious hosts.
